Is there a way to bake out the full lush branches onto texture planes so we can use that data to make lowpoly trees with texture planes on them as branches. This would make it totally worth the effort of steps for the highpoly tree.

Is there any option to use leaves as a planes with alpha channel textures or we should add them manually?

You can set the leaves as rectangles with sizes 0,5 and 1 and just use the texture on it
