Thank you sir, for a good and informative video! I just got in to this brine shrimp thing, and watched a few videos, or many to be correct.. No one touched this subject like you did in this video. This method is going to get used on my next batch! Thank you!
Thank you. Your tutorial surpasses the other tutorials on line which are sloppily made lacking detail and attention. I will rewatch this again and I appreciate you taking the time to be as exact as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to share with detailed instructions. Some people rinse them with dechlorinated water. I mean water treated a little heavily with dechlorinator. Also, I've actually heard that oil can be deadly to fish. Not saying it's true, I have just heard it. Obviously not true then. I've heard that using bleach with a specific percentage of the bleach chemical. Forgive me for not looking it up but we know what I mean. I've found that Clorox lists the percentage while store brands do not.
thanks for this informative video, i' m gonna try this now. The only thing is, when i go back to work, i think i'm gonna set up my artemia in the morning without decapsulating, due to the time i have to waith... i don't see a big problem, when i seperate the hatched brines from shells and unhatched brine. By the way : i'm feeding my Pterophyllum rio nanay fry now for 4 weeks with brine shrimp and i did not seperate the shrimp from the shells or unhatched brines. I think my fry ate a lot of shells, but they seem te be doing very well, alle healty and fast growing One one of a 150 batch died, and i culled 7 who had growing issues. In my limited experience : brine shells do not harm the youg angelfish fry when they eat them.
Okay so I just watched your video and as crazy as pouring bleach into something you're about to feed your fry sounds, I'm going to give it a shot, cuz I hate hatching out baby brine shrimp and from what I understand you can feed them the embryos just the same. Am I correct on that?
I'm sorry for not responding sooner. I truly thought that I had..... something must have happened it. In answer to your question.......YES, you can feed them directly to your fish as soon as you have rinsed them off, but it is imperative that you "NOT" skip the rehydration process....... If you skip rehydrating them with tap water they will absorb the bleach Killing the embryo and in turn it will poison your fry..........
Drain and add them to a hypertonic solution of 2 tablespoons of NON IODIZED salt and a half cup of water. for each batch of eggs you wish to store. Store in fridge up to 5 days. when ready to hatch add 1 and 1/2 cup water and an ayirstone and heat source to hatch as usual. FYI: hatch rate will be reduced!
charlie: when you hatched the bbs in step 2, did you leave the light on for the full 18-24 hour period or turn the kitchen lights off when you ent to bed?
Yes, the light is to remain on at all times when hatching and keeping Baby-Brine Shrimp. The light is your heat source keeping the solution warmer than the ambient temperature. You need this heat source because you are constantly pumping room temperature air through the water.
Thanks for the vid. it's great but somewhere I see using vinegar to stop the reaction between bleach and eggs. And you dont use. İsnt that important as a safety for lack of rinse or help to remove bleach easily.

That's a great idea - decapsulating and then hatching them. No more messy eggshell soup. I gotta try this. Thanks!

I have done this so far 6 times with success thanks to you. The only difference is that i don't use cold water or ice cubes.

I am worried about you, whenever you move you squeak! I think you need to get a body scan.
Thanks for this great information !!!!!!
John Carlson, you are most welcome. Glad to help.

Thank you for you response. After decapsulating the eggs and storing them, when I mix up my hatch water would I still add salt as normal?
You should store them in the salt you intend to use to hatch them

Are the decapsulated brine shrimp just as nutritious as going on to the last step and hatching them? If so, why go on and hatch them?
the live swimming cysts stimulate the feeding or hunting reflex.
After decapsulating the eggs, can they be stored for future hatching? If so how do you store them?
Drain and add them to a hypertonic solution of 2 tablespoons of NON IODIZED salt and a half cup of water. for each batch of eggs you wish to store.

So where did the shells go ? Did they melt ?

hi thanks for the video, by the way you dint need a scan bud there is someone that need an IQ test
How do you find anything with all that clutter ???
For the love of God man Stop the squeaking! Lol
