@@MrBunny53 Are u serious AI cannot do that? U can tell if an ai did a 3D video with VFX, camera animation, graphic design, lightning, music etc... They may have used AI as a tool, for color grading, or some animations, but like prompting to ai to make a vdeo like that and let it do all the job by itself, bro, this is impossible (for now)

Wish Windows was just fixed, THE FONTS ARE CHOPPED WITH A SAW AND PIXELATED BY VARIOUS COLORS, The multitasking interface stutters, lags choppily zooms apps content in and out disorderly, sometimes with unexpected delays and COMPLETE LACK OF SMOOTHNESS. It's completely a software issue, particularly Windows OS issue! This happens on newest high spec SSDs bundled with modern hardware.

@@theinktician it looks like they have upped the low end build on this. The first gen started at $1599, but that was with an i5 and 256. The next step up was an i5 and 512 at $1799. The second gen starts at $1999, but has an i7 and 512. So not so much of a price increase as just not offering the lower skus.

Why do you LOVE an ancient, outdated USB port? Microsoft is crippling the transition to USB-C. Apple went all in for their MacBooks in 2016, yet 8 years later Microsoft is still doing what it can to slow things down.
@@Slurpy2k8 Are you lying or dumb? The SLS1 had only two USBC ports. The SLS2 has that PLUS these extra ones that people have been asking for. UNlike Apple, Microsoft listened to their customers.

And who is crippling the transition to USB C? I think it was a company beginning with A, that switched to USB C, only because they had to. Now they are selling it as a revolution to dumb mainstream people.
USB A is necessary, Usb C only can be compromising for alot of hard drives

All we wanted was a Surface Book 4 last year, and nobody wanted this and it remains unchanged this year. The Book was the best design you ever had, and probably the best design I've ever owned in my 30 years of laptops...I'm typing on one now.
i agree but if you detached the screen i have to shutdown my 3D modeling software because the GPU isn't happy.. though will never beat a 15" fully operational tablet on windows ughhh
Screen battery was worthless, which was sad since I would've like to do more on just the screen. Surface Laptop Studio is the best of both. I can easily fold the screen without having to remove and flip it and put it in any position while lying on the couch using it. This Laptop Studio 2 has improvements including performance, full-size USB, and microSD.

@@sullfolife you can literally do the exact same form factor with the Book. Take screen off, flip it backwards, and put it back on and fold flat. Maybe you knew this but I'm surprised at how many Book users didn't. Plus when the Book is folded, it's not as thick as the Studio.
Current SLS1 user & they had me at 2x performance + Intel NPU. Just pre-ordered the RTX 4060/2TB model. Boomshakalaka.
Actually the quality and animations attracted us more than the product itself. Great job!
I love my Surface Laptop Studio 1, because of the convertible form factor and the excellent heat management. I wish the lid was easier to open without accidentally flipping it though, and having a custom proprietary port is silly. Glad to see more ports and other improvements in the new one.

As a fellow SLS1 user, I disagree with some of your points. The Surface Connect port is amazing! I much prefer it to charging via USB-C, which you can also do on the SLS1, since it is magnetic. I also rarely flipped the lid when opening the laptop. I guess you need a bit different technique compared to other laptops. However, I got used to it after a half week or so.

@@brandonsargent7105 Why is that? The experience of using the Surface Connect port is much better than charging with USB-C. Despite that, you can use USB-C to charge Surface devices anyway.

Fixes every issue with SLS1. I never got the SLS1 due to its limitations of power and ports, now I'm probably in.

I'm extremely tempted but I ended up buying a Surface Pro 9 and M1 MacBook Pro 14" last year so I can't really justify a 2nd laptop-type device, and I wouldn't give up the Pro 9 due to the portability.
I only buy Surface for my PCs because I just find them so good as an overall package, even if not the best in every single area - I had an RT, Pro 3, Pro 5 2017, Surface Book 2, Pro 8, Pro 9.
Having used the SLS1 for two years, I wish they had a bigger/sturdier version, 16" with better mechanism to turn the display and lock it in any place would be perfect because I use it tablet mode 99% of the time.
Any battery life upgrades or still same capacity? 😢
The designers for the ads should be in charge of windows UI. It's practically false advertisement with how much better windows looks in their ads all the time

Agreed. Love big upgrades, but here I'm almooooost a little happy I didn't see anything too big of a jump so I have less FOMO keeping my SLS1. I remember keeping by Surface Book for years and years. Hoping to do the same here!

@@JoeOklahoma Yeah I totally agree. I bought my SLS1 in March knowing full well that the SLS2 might be released at the end of this year. I'm absolutely satisfied with my SLS1 - I went full specs on it (11th Gen i7, 32 GB RAM, 2TB storage) and it does everything I want it to do and more. The extra performance and USB-A slot might be great, but I'm happy enough with what I've got for the moment, so I'll hold onto it and get my money's worth out of it. Maybe in a couple of years they'll release the SLS3 and then I might think it worth it for the upgrade

I hope the next generation of the Laptop Studio to adopt the new Intel Core Ultra chips, probably 4x Thunderbolt 4 Ports, a Full size SDXC Card Reader, an HDMI Port, and keep the USB port it’s a welcome update, you guys should probably add an ARM Co-Processor to act as a security enclave, ISP, AI Engine, and utilize the CPU and GPU of that Co-Processor to run Android Apps natively on the Co-Processor instead of the Intel chip
Well, it has a coprocessor...and if you need ALL those ports, might I recommend an external docking station.
Great thinking. But wouldn't an Intel + Qualcomm ARM co-processor hurt Surface Laptop Studio's price and battery life because it's basically running two different processors in the background, and as far as I know these two different processor don't know how to talk to each other efficiently. So the battery life could be jeopardized.
@@mancerrss Intel solved the coprocessor problem by releasing Movidius, their neural processor. Additionally, Intel has co-opted ARM design heuristics in it's current architecture to improve heat and battery in laptops.
@@mancerrss if a Mac can do it with the Apple T1 and T2, so can a Surface, since Microsoft owns the majority of the vertical stack, the idea is definitely possible

Amazing! The performance enhancement is importance to me for gaming and coding. In addition, sls gen 1's display screen has a little texture may be due to touch screen feature. Hope this gen 2 has a better display screen without texture~
I just whish the display should be more bezel less. Also they didn't market their display; which means the display will be just premium average - not top of the line. Display plays huge role in productivity. Also what about the speakers? Cooling etc? For creators they generallly looking for 100% 10 or 12 bit colors.

When i was looking to buy a new laptop, I found very few computers that reached my expectations in regards to build quality. I am a Linux user which is why I inevitability chose a different brand, (HP Elitebook) but i was very impressed with the Surface Studio. It made an impression and it will be on my consideration list next time i jeed a new computer.
The v2 looks even better and im hella envious of the microsd card slot. That 3:2 aspect ratio is so good too. Blows my mind that MS is one of the only companies doing it.

I've always wanted a laptop with that design. With the screen you can just pull forward.
I had a Sony vaio duo which had the screen at that angle and it's so comfortable to use. That one has the keyboard at the front and a little optical nub to do the mouse cursor which worked perfectly.
I considered a Surface laptop/tablet, but couldnt justify it vs products like the Flow Z13. After I got one my wife got one too and we love them.
I'd be fine to go for a Surface when I next upgrade, but there have always been 2 issues: processing power (sure the battery life is better but thats not our priority), and form factor.
I have owned the first edition since October 2020. I love it.

I've been asking this for years. I guess they take this long to get the design done? But it's always a gen behind with a steep pricetag. They need to change their release window from September to January.

I really love the surface laptop studio concept but It's just so expensive for someone looking for this type of 2 in 1 laptop format.
Would have really liked if you even included a baseline i5 model that incorperates the 40 series or 30 series. It feels like there is extremely high markup prices for these systems with no consideration for the creative person who would love to have a device with the 2 in 1 and all around specs.
If somoene who dabbles into creation and production like work simply wanted to use the 2 in 1 functionality with this surface laptop, they're spending at least 2700 CAD for this computer for this laptop that only has 512GB SSD storage, a strong processor, and integrated graphics,
The spec limitations for each price point still from the previous model do not seem consumer considerate. It really feels like there could have been a greater consideration on how this laptop could rounded out the specs it provided per each of the price points
I'd love to purchase one of these laptops because I think the engineering of the 2 in 1 surface folding is great, and the display is great, but for my budget at the moment, I can't be spending $2.6K CAD for a laptop with good functionality but specs not good enough to continuously use it for long term because of graphics and storage limitations.
There's enough engineering today in large tech companies that simply reroll new and better hardware with larger prices, but doesn't really consider that not everyone would love
For a TLDR;
*Love the reroll of the surface products, as the functionality of this laptops 2 in 1 is great, but there doesn't seem like an smart baseline purchase from someone who would really want a good laptop with high preforming specs. (Lower or more CPU options that have decent ram and a large storage to make it a smart long term purchase)

Surface Book was the best of both worlds, slim tablet from the Surface Pro line, and strong physical base from the laptop line. Bought a Surface Laptop to replace my Book 1, but i don't even use it much since i can't use it as a tablet anymore.
I've been saying this since they killed their best laptop - The Book. Give me a metal keyboard base with a built in Nvidia card and battery for the Surface pro and voila ! a new Book.
Omg, I usually play some video games like 1:02, putting SLS on a stand only when i didn't have any monitors. It's really great to play something more close.

Nice industrial design. Just a pity it runs windows for me, because I left it behind for a reason. Still it’s nice to see them push their products forward. There are some design cues from a certain other company, but that’s unavoidable in the 2020’s. Tech companies ‘borrow’ from each other all the time.

I know there's still a lot of fanboyism these days but I feel like this Surface laptop studio is what Steve Jobs would have made his engineers create if he was still with us, it's like what a Macbook should be in 2023. Very cool, I wish it wasn't so expensive though
Steve Jobs was opposed to touch screen laptops so not sure how accurate that is. Not to mention, they don't want to cannibalize their ipad sales so I don't expect theyll release anything like this anytime soon

Please Microsoft make it an OLED or Mini LED Display with thinner bezels and a significant boost in battery life.Optimise it for note taking as the pen lags or stops responding sometimes when writing .Improve thermals.

I had the studio 1 and did not like the placement of the speakers, when you fold out the screen like tent mode, it muffled the sounds coming from the speaker. If the screen is close to 4k resolution and the speakers sound really good at any angle, I would totally want to buy this.
