I love the surface laptop line up, however, I would like to see less bezels on the screen as the design hasn't been really refreshed since 2017. And other laptop manufacturers have almost no bezels on their screens. Otherwise, great specs and built quality.
In term of design, the only thing I would change is the frame of the screen, make it a little bit narrower. The design itself is so well done that they didn't have to change it for years.
I don’t see problem with the bezels as long as they’re not as big as the og macbook air ones it’s fine
@@claudiabravo5991 Thats what "Bezel" means. And I dont see an issue with it. As far as design refreshes, I'm sure they'll get to the point like apple and samsung are where every year they alternate the chassis between beveled and squared off corners and edges and everyone just thinks its new and shiny. All of this marketing is so pavlovian.
The slim bezels on the new MacBooks are the reason I didn’t go wir a surface! I’m 100% with you on that.

I love how Microsoft really is making the exactly same looking computer as the one i bought in 2017 and it's still by far the best looking and most comfortable to use laptop on the planet.

I have a MacBook Pro but I also love the Surface line up of Microsoft.

As a Microsoft fanboy I have to say this looks like it's just more the same. Just in a new color and faster processors and whatnot. I'm not really excited about this, I think I'm going to stick with my Surface Laptop 4.
I always see these kind of comments and always wonder so now I'm going to ask, do people really upgrade their laptop every year?

Same here. I just recently bought a Surface Laptop 4 because the prices are dropping. Maxed out specs with Core i7 processor and 16 GB RAM, and there's just no compelling reason to upgrade from what I can see here. I have a USB C hub, so no need for more ports for now, style and features look the same otherwise. I'm also a fanboy, but I can't shell out money every year just because there's a new color or maybe slightly faster processor.
And the 120hz display? Few changes, very disappointed
No 120hz and no Ryzen chips kills any wish to buy it..

Imagine the Surface Laptop 6 with a near edge-to-edge screen and 120 hz display. It would be refreshing, and I would upgrade in a heartbeat.

Idc what anybody say, I tried a lot of laptops but the surface laptop is truly the best thin and light I own, apple is really close to it but I cannot rock anything but windows so since I tried it in 2019 till now I genuinely could not switch to anything else.
Sadly no ryzen option again :(

There is no AMD Ryzen version of the Surface Laptop 5.

I was hoping for a 120hz screen and haptic trackpad also smaller bezels, like surface laptop studio, but just got a green color. Also the surface studio was too boring they didn't even had a trailer for it, I hope they don't let it die....
120hz would have been game changing and I believe they already have it on the Pro, extremely disappointing

They don't like notches.
It’s not that bad, seems quite standard. Plus bezels have some benefits when you’re using the touch screen and want to hold the screen. Macs do not have touch screens

The MacBook air suffers edge light bleeding issues, perhaps due to how thin it is. There's always a compromise.

I really wanted to buy a Microsoft laptop, but in comparison to the competition, being cheaper while offering more, it's just inexcusable. A real let down.

• lower price (apples M1 MacBook goes for under 900$)
Why mounting the touch screen on a laptop that is not a 2-in-1? Can anybody help me understand?
Wouldn't see why anybody who needs a touchscreen would go for this product line rather than the Surface Laptop Studio.
Those bezels though...my 4 years old Lenovo ideapad has an edge to edge screen and at the time it costed me 750€ (Ryzen 5, 8gb of ram and 256 GB SSD storage)
Totallya aggreing you..just get a ideapad or one of the yoga series laptops instead of this surface.

How do you find it? Is it reliable and have good battery? I have a macbook air 2014 and its a beast but i need to upgrade and buy a windows and i’m worried that i’m going to miss my mac

As an Apple user I’ve always said I’d never buy Windows or Chromebooks. The point still stands about Chromebooks but starting to feel as if Windows and Microsoft are becoming more ‘Apple like’. Might buy Windows in the future.
I got Microsoft surface book 2! Love the surface laptops. Super functional. But make sure you buy them in countries that support repairs cuz I always have to ship out materials from abroad just to have it fixed. Ends up being so expensive, I had to buy another laptop!
I was Waiting for Microsoft surface pro 9, I thought the design would change from 2017 one. It looks great but some improvement would have been nice.

The Laptop 5 is $1699 for 16 GB memory and 512 GB SSD, compared to the MacBook Air M2 at $1399 for 16 GB memory and 512 GB SSD. It’s ironic that in 2022, there’s a “Microsoft Surface tax” rather than an Apple tax.
I'm fine with the bezels, but the proprietary surface connect port? Why still? How about replacing that with another thunderbold 4 on the right.
