I just purchased a Crown and have fallen in love with it. Toyota is aggressive on the discounts right now to get the Crown out on the road and be known/seen. It makes a heck of an appearance and so many people have asked me what kind of car it is. I am getting 48mpg in the city in Ohio during Winter! The power off the line will put you back in your seats and the AWD system performed amazing in 7 inches of snow. I could not get it to lose traction!! I love the technology in this and the driving experience is premium like a Lexus. The ECVT is very smooth and lacks the jerking and slipping I felt with other manufacturers CVTs. I love the ride height and my Dad who has trouble getting into/out of sedans does so with a breeze. I just filled it up after a month and a half of driving and I show a range of over 630 miles on a 14 gallon tank of gas. Anyone looking for the handling of a sedan, with the height of a crossover and amazing fuel economy should look no further than a Crown. Great job Toyota and I hope to see this car do well!!
Did you get xle or limited? What octane do you use, I am getting conflicting information about the 2.5 Toyota engine that is being used by so many models within Toyota' s world. Is it 87 or 91 and up premium gas?
How is the sound for it? We drove a crown and once the engine kicked on it the ECVT wasn't annoying, it was just slightly loud. Also, for the height it is great. It is about the same heigh as my grandma's 2016 LaCrosse.
Thanks for a comprehensive and informative review. This is the most unbiased review I've seen on the new Toyota Crown. Just bought the XLE trim and just like the other commenter I have fallen in love with this car because of everything you touched on your review. As a Crown owner, I can say you are spot on and get the segment that Toyota is trying to capture. I've seen way too many reviews get in the "why did Toyota even make this car" band wagon and didn't offer too much value. I like SUV and EVs but this one attracted me for all the right reasons. Keep up the good work!
3500 miles in my 2024 Crown, in every way the most spectacular automobile I've even owned in my 82 years on this earth. Recent 2500 mile trip yielded 48.7 mpg average on the road and yet riding in a quiet baby carriage all the way. If you want a unique car you will be proud to own, look closely at this different Crown! T. Spence, USA
The closest thing to this is the Accord Hybrid. I love this car. If you spend 45K on a Crown in comparison with a 52K electric car you can put that 7,000 your savings into a fund for gas. even at 5 dollars, you are getting 57,400 miles because of what you saved from not getting electric- and no worries for the road trips.
I am happy that Toyota didn't skip from the Avalon to a new SUV. There are people in America that actually still want a Sedan. I like to be able to store things in my trunk, and it is out of site until I open the trunk. No one would want this same stuff sitting in the back of their SUV. But, what a great idea to raise the height so you step into your seat versus sliding down like in a regular sedan! I also want a near-luxury vehicle that is more comfortable and quite riding, but without having to pay Lexus prices. The Camry is a great vehicle, but you do have to pay a little more for additional luxury. I will be fine with the smaller engine that gets 10 MPG over the Platinum Model. Also, I think it looks stunning!
I like the look of the car. I’ve seen it with the macadamia interior which I really liked but have seen the insignia will not off this option. That’s too bad. I love the concept of hybrid and am definitely not interested in EV. You did an excellent job reviewing this car and appreciate your detailed explanation.
You made some great points on why one would rather invest in the Crown over an all EV with far less range and perhaps less features as well for a lot more cash. I would love to purchase an all EV vehicle but the range and price point is a killer for me.
I for one am happy that Toyota has a sedan model of the Crown versus skipping entirely in preference for an SUV. I tend to put a bunch of stuff in the trunk, and that doesn't work with a SUV type model. With a separated trunk you just don't see all the CR...P until you open it! lol I also really like the looks of this car, it's elevated position, AWD, and its near luxury, and without paying Lexus prices! It definitely will be on my list of options when shopping for a new car in the next few years.
Now this is nice!! I have a neighbor up the street that has one. She said it's OK. But I personally like it. According to her, the crown gets 550 miles of range. Hell I'm only getting 20 miles more with my jaguar XJL at 570 miles of range. But still I would take 550 miles of range, hell yeah!! The only thing the crown should have is heads up display. Nice car...
Thank you…Very informative review. Too bad this isn’t a sportback like the Audi A5. Not everyone wants a crossover/suv…..I would have considered this if it was…
28:55 The reason why the Crown is ñot salling is because you CAN'T GET THE DAMN CAR,ALSO THERE NOT ANY COLORS BUT BLACK & WHITE.WHAT HAPPEN TO THE DUAL COLORS? RED/BLACK OR THE BROWN/ BLACK,which is the color I want. The Crown just not in the show rooms😢

Peopld are actually asking me. They thought it's the new Prius lmao
So happy to hear it runs well in the snow. Looking into the Limited myself and worried about the NJ winters despite being AWD.

Nice job. You understand what this car is all about.
Outstanding comprehensive review. Your review will educate consumers about this unique vehicle.

Yes, but the "Crown" has to be the badge on the front, in the headrest and steering wheel. Why wasn't that an option?
In South Africa it's like that.
@@tebellomsola6975and Japan ofc
@@tebellomsola6975 I must admit, the headrest logo is not a thing anymore.
I wonder if you can special order a platinum with 19 inch wheels
Why no crown badge?
Excellent Review 10/10

Yup. Local dealer by me had one in the lot and I don’t think they even sold it. I think they’re moving it around to other dealers for test drives
Hey, kid, i don't use an iphone....
2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited blows the crown out of the water - not even close.
Just bought my wife one. It is a serious contender.
How so?
