When images of the Crown came out I didn't like it. After seeing some of them in person it looks quite good and has grown on me. When I was on a trip to Tokyo in 2006, I saw a Toyota Crown Athlete on display at the Toyota car museum. I always thought that it was very cool. It’s great that the Crown is finally coming to the USA.
@@kristoffermangila Thank you for that point. I’ve seen the Toyota Crown in the USA since my original message. I like it. Most of the reviews I’ve seen try to paint it as a car designed for old people. That’s rather condescending. It’s a good design period.
Reminds me of the previous model of Acura which was the ZDX. The two tone color is kinda polorizing. Like to see it in full black (combination of gun metal black with flat black highligths.
We get the Crown badge in the GCC too (cause it was sold here until 1999/2000 and then replaced with the Avalon). It's everywhere except for the rear where it's a Toyota badge. And we get more features like front lightbar, HUD, power trunk, power steering column, soft close doors, and power rear seats.

Two tones come & go. No problem here. It is an attractive design in a moderately sporty, but still relatively demure. I would of course opt for the more modestly powered, higher mpg power plant. I may recommend this for my older brother. I'm more Miata than Crown, myself.
I would get the Limited, with the Macedamian interior no tech package. It's Lexus NX quality in a Sedan. I hate black interior. I bought a 23 Rav 4 Ltd Hybrid just so I could get a Beige interior in Canada
Performance-wise the Crown (2.4T hybrid) is quicker than the Lexus IS350, let alone the ES350. It would be nice for Lexus to offer this powertrain in the IS and ES perhaps call it the IS400 and ES400 F-sport Performance.
I honestly think this vehicle is overhyped. First off, most people will NOT get the 340HP 2.4 Turbo variant. They will get the 2.5 Liter 236 HP. And for that, both the IS and ES are quicker 0-60. For a rolling race, both the IS and ES 350 will beat the Crown in all specs, at least on paper. The crown is similar to what Toyota did with the Venza. If you know your Lexus and your Toyota well, you can tell the shortcuts verses the NX as an example. Folks, understand that in today's age wireless Apple car play, large infotainmen screen, heated and ventilated seats are Not luxury. They are standard on all cars. It is the materials. This car has a prop, which I'm surprised Kirk didn't mention all while holding the hood. The rear trunk is also not electric assisted and so on. This car is NOT worth 55K. Toyota is doing so for marketing reasons. Get this for the looks. Remember covid? when used car prices skyrocketed? Now the manufacturers are doing the inflation right from the factories with wannabe luxury cars because they are offering heated seats, 360 cams etc which people think are luxury. They used to be but not anymore. The 2024 Hyndai Sante fe looks 'nice' but that does not make it a luxury car nor in the same league as a land rover defender. Hyundai can choose to increase the price, again for marketing reasons. Be astute buyers and don't fall for masquerading tuxedos

Funny 😄, I was just looking into both cars (Crown and ES 350). Back in 2013 I looked at the Avalon and ES 350. I bought the Avalon V6 Limited fully loaded. It was around $5000 less and looked nicer. I still enjoy the car and it is in mint condition with only 48000 miles. I was just going to keep it until it died but with used car prices being so high, I thought I should look into the new models. Also since I keep my Toyota / Lexus for over 10 years. I see Toyota and probable Lexus going to all hybrid vehicles. I don't have faith that the hybrid batteries will last as long. The Crown needs a few years to iron out the quirks. I also has a very limited choice of colors for exterior and interior. For the price of a nicely equipped Crown Limited, I could get the ES 350 Luxury edition with the upgraded tech package for a little less.
My uncle drove a Crown all his life in Japan. He always gets a brand new designed one.
