Meh! Who needs HGTV when you have Becky and Acre Homestead. Gardening, cooking, baking, remodeling, dinner parties. What can’t she do. You go girl.
Yes, seriously. I haven’t watched Food Network or HGTV in months.
Soo true
Absolutely agree!
Exactly!!
That’s a true statement ❤
Just a little trivia knowledge. The seed inside the mango is usually cleaned and dried until it turns completely white. It's then used in parakeet cages for them to sharpen their beaks on. 😊
I didn't know that. My mother had two parakeets and had those white things in their cage. Thanks for sharing!
Mango's are toxic to birds. Cuttlebones are the shell of cuttlefish. Cuttlebones are used as a calcium supplement for birds, reptiles many others. Cuttlebones have many, many uses. Dried mango seeds have several uses but not for birds.
@@PawsomeView it's most likely cuttlebone your mum bought. xx
Hi Becky, generally when you use soy sauce in a dish you use both light (regular) and dark. Light soy sauce for the salty flavor and dark sauce for the color. If you keep adding light soy sauce to a dish because its not the right color, it will be too salty, so you add a little dark soy sauce instead.
Great to know. Thank you! 😊
I just started using dark soy sauce and shoushing wine. It made such a difference in the flavor of a basic dish. My new favorites.
If I don’t have dark soya sauce I’d add less soya sauce plus brown sugar. I find it has a bit of a caramel/sweet flavour.
Learn something new every day! 🌸
For any curry with fresh lime juice, its is best to the add lime right at the very end when serving. I learnt this at a cooking school in Thailand called "time for lime"; they named the place after their lime theories; as was such important step for them!🍋
I wish America would be more like Europe in the sense of food and the quality of it as well as the homemade aspect of it and quality time with family. Very cool fun fact!
Hi from Australia, hey Becky, my husband and I have 120 mango trees plus lots of other fruit trees on our property. My grandchildren are always asking when will the trees grow mangoes. Haha they love them we have a 6 week time frame for picking the mangos, we loose alot to fruit bats and native parrots, cockatoos Rosella's and other birds also the ones that drop on the ground the kangaroos eat. We share with family and friends, we are retired and used to sell them to locals. Now it's just if you want some come and pick them yourself. I make a very delicious mango cheese cake. Love your content. Sending blessings 🙌
Mango cheese cake! Now that sounds divine! 👍🏻👍🏻
That sounds amazing! Australia always sounds like another planet to me! 😂
I think Becky should do a whole video dedicated to her bloopers, just for fun. Her laugh is so cute and her videos are the best! ❤️
Yes please from Germany!!!
Adding her gorgeous eyes when she tastes a recipe that she loves.❤❤❤
Just sharing a honey tip that has helped me. We I open a large jar of honey I divide it into quart canning jars. Then if it crystalizes over time, I can heat it up in the microwave to return it to a liquid without having to scoop it out of a large plastic jug. Thanks for the new recipes.
This only works if your microwave takes quart jars. Fun fact: last time I had to buy a microwave there were lots of microwaves that wouldn't fit a quart jar... (I went over a couple or aisles and borrowed a quart, just to make sure the microwave I took home would fit at least a quart jar. Cause that red one I really wanted was too small! 😵💫). 💖🌞🌵😷
Do you store those jars in the fridge or can they be kept on the shelf?
@@HomeschoolMountainMama Babe, it's honey. Everything will fine with it in ages! It surely can be kept on a shelf.
Only a 2 person house here, so I put the honey into wide mouth pints. So much easier to use and clean out.
You could also boil water in a pan and the place the honey jug in to it and turn the heat off and let set for a while.Just be careful cause it and get very liquided.
Love your channel Becky. For even a better curry, you should always toast your seeds, ginger, garlic and curry before you add your protein. You will have a wonderful depth of flavor in your curry.
I get braver every time I watch you cook. You are a daredevil when you season and put your own spin on things. Watching you helps me be bold!!! 🥰🥰🥰
It's sweet to see how you shine when Josh trying something you made. I see true love shinning from your face. Realy sweet to look at.
Happy Monday, Beautiful People! Wishing you, Becky & everyone a wonderful new week! 🦋💕
Thank you! Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷!
@@suzisaintjames Welcome & thank you all the way from Louisiana! 💕🦋
Thank you Becky! We need another installment of these. It’s just too hot to be cooking. I live in Texas, and actually run my crockpot on my back porch.
Hey fellow Texan!! Houston here an yes I cook on my porch as well.
@@doghairdontcarelindaniel7531 thankfully it hasn’t been too bad yet this summer, but I’m sure it’s coming!
Becky filming TWO videos at the same time!
Becky
100gms= 4 oz
25gms= 1 oz
Hope this helps
Love from Bonnie Scotland
And 450 grams = 1lbs, so 400g is just under a pound
I am with you on too liquid-y with slow cooker recipes.
Fun fact, in the centre of the mango there is a pit not a seed! When you crack open the pit, the seed is inside! It can be sprouted with a wet paper towel!
Never scrape what you've cut off of your cutting board with the edge of your knife (especially that beautiful Cutco Chef's Knife). You're damaging the blade on a microscopic level and the damage will accumulate to ruin your expensive knife. Use a bench scraper, or if you must use the knife, use the other edge of the knife so as not to damage the blade. (Former Cutco Rep)
Beautiful, personalized, and gifted knife ❤ gotta take care of it!
Jade, she used the back of the knife… I went back and checked.
I was never a rep of knives but my grandmother would roll over in her grave if she caught me scraping anything on my cutting board with my knife blade. It is amazing how many people do not know this. I comment on any cooking that I witness. They do not know how they are abusing their blade.....
I have watched you for years. I have even copied your recipes. I want you to take this as a compliment. If I were living with you, I would be five hundred pounds and happy. My family has not disliked any recipe I have made from your channel! Thank you for all you do.❤
I consider myself an excellent self-taught home cook, but Becky, I am so thankful that you explain simple tips and tricks I have not known before. I find so much good information in all your lovely videos. Thank You!
I often wonder, “How does she know all this!?!
Amazing.
Let's not forget soap and candle making! you rock Becky
This woman is a kitchen work horse. I wish I was this good in the kitchen.
Thank you! Love to use crockpot meals for Sundays. So nice to come from church to a warm meal that’s ready to go. 😊
If you put the stone from the mango into the freezer, it is great to give to a teething toddler. It still has a nice flavour but cooling on the gums.
Just a tip, think about freezing your onion ends(you cut every generously)that will add such good flavor when making soup and broth.😊❤
Has Josh tried to char the pineapple on the grill to add to that dish? Omgoodness, it will blow his mind! It all looks so good!
Im always so happy when you say cut up things dont have to be perfect. I couldnt cut a potato or anything else equal if my absolute life depended on it. Love watching you.
You use your instant pot so much that I got curios enough to buy one for myself. I have a very nice rice cooker, so I thought long and hard before buying one. I LOVE it for my food prepping.
I love putting my feet up and watching you make the meals of my dreams. You are so relaxing Becky…Thank you for sharing your days with us. You’ll never know how much we appreciate all of your hard work. Never change!!
Yay! Love to see Becky’s notification pop-up!!
20:29 I think that coleslaw idea was good, but watching the video, all I could think is dump that oven roasted broccoli in the pot, add back the remaining sauce and give a good toss. Broccoli covered in that sauce would be fantastic too! 💖🌞🌵😷
That was my exact thought, too, lol!
@@huitrecouture , so would you leave the chicken out of the sauce and serve it on the side as well... So everything won't taste the same? Or it's okay for the chicken and the noodles to taste the same, but not the veg? Just trying to learn another's point of view. Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷.
It’s sour because your mango wasn’t ripe. When they are ripe and ready to go…there is no crunch while cutting it. They are quite soft, but not mushy. 😊
Man, that mango curry dish looked awesome! Definitely going to make that.
The advantage of making the salsa early is the time given to marry the flavors.
Ok Becky, you and Josh HAVE to try zucchini noodles. In fact for your noodle recipe use zoodles instead. They are tastier than i ever thought they could be. Love this community you have created!!!
The cut pineapple has an amazing color. You can tell how ripe the pineapple is just by looking at the slices. Great job at picking out a pineapple, Josh.
I love your recipes because they are so clean . Not a whole lot of additives or junk
Thank you
I brown my meat without the seasoning before adding to crockpot, it’s ur seasoning that burnt. I agree, the sweetest part of the broccoli is the STEMS!❤
You always offer such easy and practical recipes. I love that we can tailor them to fit our own lifestyles and family size - as I need to cook for 12! Thanks for the time it takes to put these together for us. ♥
Heyyy Becky!!....canning all the things today since this am....into the night!....from the garden,,,cherry tomatoes, peppers, potatoes...and ready to eat meals being cooked and canned!
Hi Becky and Acre friends so excited ❤ even though it's winter here .
Becky, I have a large family so what I do when I am searing large batches of meat, is do it in batches and between each batch I deglaze the pan. I just hate to lose all that good flavor. Just a suggestion.
I cook my rice in the Instant Pot too. But I saute carrots celery and onion in butter then add rice and chicken broth. Makes a nice variation.
I love it when you go "it's EARLY" 😆 and then say the coffee's coming. There's something cosy and about it.
Becky - I absolutely adore you and the way your face lights up when you taste something you’ve cooked. You have the most expressive eyes!! Thank you for ALL you do.
Yes her eyes are so beautiful and expressive
Becky! I love your channel and you’ve inspired me so so much. One of my videos just got 7.6k views and I am hoping to be able to stay home with my kids and elderly parents. Thanks for showing me how to garden and cook for my family ❤
Becky, did you know that you can take that crock pot, put water in it, place the jar of honey in it and let it roll on low all day. It will dissolve the honey back down to a liquid. I do it all the time.
I can't wait to start canning up tomatoes and green beans from the garden.
Enjoy watching your videos. Gives me some really good recipe ideas. I'm so glad I see you using the back of your knife to scrape ingredients off your cutting board. So many people ruin or dull their knives using the sharp side of the blade. 😊😊
I live in the suburbs of Detroit and we don't have a local farmers market but I sure wish we did! Becky's making fresh food look so yummy!
Eastern market in Detroit is fantastic. I used to go once a month and get great deals.
I see so much love on your face when you look at Josh……it’s inspiring! Y’all are so incredibly cute and sweet! May you always be this happy!!! ❤❤❤
If you let that mango ripen at least a week more, you'll have some delicious sweet fruit to eat.
You can still get a great braise on your meat with a non-stick pan. The "yum yums" of flavor also develop just the same as in an enameled cast iron or stainless steel pan.
Not nearly to the same extent, non-stick pans are used for non-fat cooking or eggs. This is why you won’t see nonstick pans in a professional kitchen.
Agree, the mango could ripen several more days for the best flavor.
I absolutely love looking at you cooking and the fact that you are always posting! It's such a great surprise each time.
You're so funny when you are looking at him for whether or not he likes the meal! Makes me chuckle and smile!!! So sweet!🤣🤣😂🤗❤️
Hello. Tips to cut the mango.
Wash, cut the up part, cut slices with the skin, when you have the slices cut in little pieces. With the spoon or knife pull out.
Mango when ripe is soft like a peach. Best way to cut them is to cut four sides and then score each down to peel in cubes.
Perfect timing, was thinking over the weekend that I need to find new slow cooker recipes for summer! Thanks Becky, we can always count on you to come up with some great recipes!❤
Isn't it amazing how many hours are invested in taking great care of our family's diet. "Fine" dining old school, field to table.
I’m just addicted to your channel! I love to cook! Been cooking at least a couple meals a day and starting to do more bread. Love your recipes ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sprinkler Mangoes!
We used to get the mango seeds with all that extra fruit stuck on but only when we could eat them outside and get all that sticky washed off with the hose or sprinkler. What memories 😁
Number 98 today and only up for 2 min....so awesome... hugs from Esquimalt
My favorite of these meals would be the last one, chicken and potatoes. You are an amazing cook, gardener, and anything else that you do, you do well. Until next time…….
These are just what I needed! Crockpot is the way I want to go when the house gets too hot in summer, and I get fatigued sometimes by the heat! Thankyou Becky!
So inspiring - love the Becky eyes, to let us know how good it is!
I know, right? Every time she pops those eyes open I have to laugh out loud. You know it’s good when she does that!
Hi Becky, Here in Canada we use the metric system and just for a reference point for you 454g is aprox a pound so 400g would be just under a pound. Loved the crockpot ideas today! 🇨🇦
Becky, I really appreciate that you do all of the research finding these recipes, test cooking them and presenting them to your audience!!! This is a phenomenal thing for your viewers and saves us all much time, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I absolutely love my new bamboo cutting boards. I use them for meat. Then I throw them into the dishwasher. So easy clean-up.😊
You shouldn’t put bamboo in the dishwasher😯😯. The detergent and high heat can cause bamboo to split. Better to handwashing and give it a coat of mineral oil every month to keep it moisturized:)). Same goes for wood cutting boards and utensils - no dishwasher🙂
A dollop of crème fraiche on top of the mango curry.😊
Happy Blessed Monday
As usual , this was great! Would love an update on how you are handling motherhood, cooking and gardening!
Josh you did a great job picking out the pineapple
These recipes came just in time, as my daughter and I are working overtime and needed some good summer, easy crockpot recipes!
😁Your scale likely can be changed to grams. See if it has a mode button. 😄. Keep being amazing.
Love watching you cook and food prep!! Appreciate you trying new product and giving your impression; also suggesting substitutions. Really appreciate how you include Josh in sharing how your family supports each other... BRAVO 👏 👏
You are just amazing and so talented and have such a gift in front of the camera. Thank you for all the hard work you put into the videos. You are my favorite. Thanks 😀
I made your pie crust today and it tasted amazing. One of the veggieboys Daniel has a chanal now with his wife called 'Daniel and Sadie beyond the farm' and they are cooking and baking Grammy's recipes. I used your crust for Grammys creamy rhubarb pie and OMG it was amazing x x x
Great idea! I saw them do that recipe and it look real good.
@@tinagriffin5310it was seriously amazing. Next week I hope to make the banana bread (with chocolate chips haha!). Love that family so much. Reminds me of mine with brother, sister and all my cousins. When we get together we are mad nuts haha!
I didn’t know you could prop your instant pot lid up on the base like that! Good to know!
I loved your crock pot meals video. I live with my crock pot routinely in a small kitchen and your recipes look delicious! Really enjoyed watching this video!
I admire your boldness to launch into new dishes. They looked great. Thank you. Blessings
That little shovel you used to seasonings was heckn adorable! 😍

I love all that you show us, you are getting me making things I never tried making before & I'm enjoying mixing my soil even💝💖💗
My family have curry in our normal rotation. We serve it with several add-on on the side. Mango chutney, chopped peanuts, chopped apple, chopped bacon, chopped egg, coconut, and chopped pineapple. Served with rice. Great make ahead for company. We alternate chicken or shrimp. Yours looks delicious.
Wow every one of those recipes look delicious! Will be trying those out! Thank you for sharing your skills and tips. I love watching your videos … you are in your element in the kitchen. I sit here and binge watch these videos over and over. Love all of them❤
Becky, I'm making the Garlic Parm Chicken and Potatoes today! I have everything on hand and don't even need to make a trip to town. Yum!

Can't wait to make Basil Salt with my homegrown basil! Thanks for the inspiration, Becky! 🦋💚
How do you make it?
@TapManDancer
Basil Salt Recipe
♡ 1 c Basil (leaves & the are stems, optional)
♡ 1 c Salt, course
(Make any size batch or amount you like)
~Add basil and salt to a food processor & blend until finely chopped & combined.
~ Air Dry Method: Spread onto a parchment or silicone mat lined sheet pan and air dry for 12-24 or until the salt absorbs the moisture from the basil & the mixture is completely dry. Break up any clumps if necessary & store in a glass airtight container or mason jar.
~Oven Method: Set oven to 220-225°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread out mixture and bake for 15 minutes. Give it a good stir & then bake for another 15 minutes. Let it cool on the baking sheet. Break up any clumps if necessary & store in a glass airtight container or mason jar.
Hope this was helpful! 🦋
Idk what it is about the way you film but I feel like I’m watching food network back in the day 🥺 I love it!! So relaxing
Thank you Becky!!
I love your fearlessness in everything you cook and bake.
