Well, compare to Oversea,in 1980s celebrity often sport AP Royal Oak of PP Nautilus in their wrist,so rapper want to do the same thing,About Patek, many royal noble and politician wear that so is a status symbol,Nautilus is a sport watch,so it look more sporty for rapper, but some of them also wear Aquanaut and Grand Complications too(but not Calatrava i swear),but Patek doesn't like it so much,About AP,yeah,if you look at other model you can see AP know their future main cilents, even CEO of AP mentioned about Jay Z before.
@@HorologywithHugh steeped in horological tradition/ this movement is adjusted to six positions / this ain’t no p*ssy COSC certification / a rollie don’t reflect my disposition / of superior sophistication / i like my watches like my b*tches - high complication
Simply because label execs have them mention these brands to help those brands and themselves make money. Most of them wouldn’t know anything about those brands if it weren’t contracted for them to mention them. Same with amiri jeans and other brands. If every rapper is mentioning it you better believe it’s in the contracts.
Most of the watches you see on famous peoples wrists are sponsored. Not only watches, think about fashion brands or cars. If an artists raps about Bentleys and APs to a bigger audience and if he/she really wears this watch, nobody makes this jobs for free. If not the artists than these contracts are related to the label companies. In some European countries for example, Mercedes promotes to famous people, including artist, youtubers etc cars for around 1-3% of the real price for around 6-12 months with only monthly rent to pay. You make a video, track whatever and give it back after they drive their AMGs. Don’t get blind at the end of the day it’s all about business.
Patek and Rolex do very little sponsorship. They have brand ambassadors but they do not need to sponsor 50 different celebs. Brands outside of Patek and Rolex do need to do that.

and yet a nautilus is on the AD shelf but you can’t find a sub for love or money
I am sorry but neither Rolex or Patek are easy to find at this point. They have certain models that can be found but are not to every bodies taste.
