Hello everyone,
I am SO sorry for the delay in editing this vlog. Work has been extremely busy recently and life has taken some surprising turns (will update soon).
For now though, please enjoy my vlog as a day in the life of an ECT and what I do during my NQT/ECT time.
Context: At my school it works slightly differently, they group two weeks worth of NQT time into a day, so I only have NQT time once a fortnight but I can spend it at home.

Great timing as this is something that I was interested in for my next year, do u have regular chats with your NQT mentor regarding your evidencing and progress?

Your mentor should be really approachable and you should be able to speak to them whenever you need, however, meetings aren't weekly or scheduled like in training.

Hello, not related to the video but more of a general question. Do you think an an hour/hour fifteen commute is too much during training? Do you think this would impact my wellbeing and ability manage the workload? Didn’t really know who else to ask about this issue, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Fraser,
I can only answer with my personal opinion and that would be that when I had two hour commutes on public transport to training days, it was very draining and especially in winter, was quite tough. Later on in the year my SCITT put me on a placement two hours commute each way and I just refused to go. Controversially I found my own placement as I just didn't want to do that, particularly as some days I would leave school at 6pm or later.
If you're the type of person who doesn't mind, or thinks they can take the time to reflect and relax after a long day, you might like it. For me personally I think that's two long one way x
