  • Dancers, are you trying to figure out how to have a deeper plié? Look no more! I will help you with my top exercises get a deeper plié.
    Stretching the soleus both passively and dynamically is a great recipe for success with a deeper plié. Often dancers will just stretch the superficial gastrocnemius muscle or turnout the leg when stretching. Both these techniques will not help deepen your plié.
    In order to maintain and gain a deeper plié, you must both strength, lengthen, and mobilize the tissue of the lower leg.
    Try these exercises to deepen your plié 2-3x a week. Active mobilization activities of the lower leg may be done before ballet class.
    To check out my dancer cross-training courses to improve areas of your dance technique such as...
    Turns
    Balance
    Turnout
    Extensions
    Port de bras
    Feet/ankles

    and Flexibility

    So glad i found this video, im 36 and just started ballet this year,i love it but i find plies so hard i cant get a good plie without my heels lifting.the right heel is especially tight. Im always so focused on pushing my knees out (they tend to lean in) so i overlooked my calves,thanks so much for this vid,made me feel less paranoid and will b doing these streches 2mo. Love your channel ⚘️🩰

    It would be so helpful if it was to follow along in the order the strengthening and stretching makes sense....maybe you can make it a follow along because like this it’s just informative. Thank you anyway.

    Hi, i love this video. I had foot surgery and now have a small plate with a few screw in my left foot. I’ve noticed that doing a plie or curtsy my foot/ankle is extremely tight. Your video is helping me.
    Please tell me where I can order the pink bar you use in the video and the resistance bands that you use.
    Thanks.

      Other possible problems may be that you're firing the wrong muscles to go down. Give me an email and we can chat about other solutions to this problem! veronicakplatform@gmail.com

    I only dinged this because I can't clearly see both feet on the first exercise.

      Sorry- I am happy to answer any questions for you on what confused you or even form check you with photos. I had some restrictions when I was filming this due to construction in the room.

    Kinda hard to tell what you’re doing when your feet and/or legs aren’t even in the shot…

    • @VeronicaKBallet
      @VeronicaKBallet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My legs are in the shot only part of my ankle is out in one part --- I'm not a professional videography as it is evident but, I'm showing what's important plus it's just a straight leg calf stretch - the cues are important though keeping the heel down. The bent knee version I have my entire legs in the shot.

      I guess it might be obvious to you what you’re doing, but as someone who is struggling with correct placement and making sure my body is aligned properly, it’s hard to visualize what you’re doing if I can’t see it. But I guess this video is just not for me then. Sorry, I don’t mean to come across as bitchy, I’m just struggling.

    If, when I'm exercising my left heel, the left leg kind of "pops," is this because I'm doing it wrong or because it isn't as strong?

    • @VeronicaKBallet
      @VeronicaKBallet  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tbh I would have to see what’s happening. Sometimes the restriction is due to other tissues surrounding or mechanical error. Can you email me a video? Veronicakplatform@gmail.com

    My heels don't pop up during plies, but I've noticed my left pops up when I land from jumps(changements specifically). I'm assuming this is an achilles issue. I'm interested in seeing if that one footed exercise helps!

      It could be but, it could also be a hypertonicity in the anterior tib or a weight placement issue. That's something we could definitely look into more in a private evaluation! Our exclusive Christmas sale includes 2 privates with the regular priced year membership. I would love to work with you 1- 1 and make you feel more confident with this issue and get you some more power in your jumps! Click the link below if you want to see the sale!
