    Hey guys:
    Please be careful with a foot stretcher! I did it too long and too often and really injured my Achilles tendon, so I needed to make a 7 month long sport break.

    • @GS-ys3xv
      @GS-ys3xv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      Dana Leonie. I agree, for as long as one side is stretched, stretch the other. Never neglect the poor Achilles, it’s doing so much and it needs some care too😊

    • @GS-ys3xv
      @GS-ys3xv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      May Finkel. I would recommend five minutes on each side, stretch your achilles for five minutes, two more minutes on each side, then stretch your achilles for two minutes. And do some ankle rolls after to work out any spots that might be tight from the stretches☺️

They have an arch that even if I didn't dance would still be there. alivia! i’ve watched your vids for like 2 years now, i’ve danced on and off ballet, hip hop, contemporary, etc. i always love following your stretches. one of my biggest challenges would be pointe. my arch was horrible, and i kept getting negative comments and advice, like people saying i’m not advanced enough for pointe, i’m not a good dancer, i should just quit. but when i stretch along to your videos i always see improvement, and that reminds me that i can do anything if i just reach for the goal and become patient. i am now getting pointe shoes, and i will definitely be excited to use them everyday because i would love to see improvement and all the hard work from following your stretches, every morning and night. :) keep making vids, i love them! xoxo - atina

    My feet have naturally high arches but I still wanted to improve on flexibility so thanks for these tips. I do almost every exercise you've demonstrated in this video. Plus, after starting ballet again about a year ago, the difference of my arches is incredible, I would have thought I was very flat footed compared to now. And of course, much more flexible too. Anyway, thanks for your great tips, and after previously watching other helpful ballet videos of yours, I have subscribed... Your videos are inspiring and motivating. Have a beautiful day :) Cheers...

    Thank you for this !! After squatting HEAVY for 3 decades , I developed terrible knee pain. I was treated for a torn ACL and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. The "MEDICAL INDUSTRY" does not treat the cause but only the pain. I wandered around flat footed for 7 years and in despair. In a moment of recall from the distant past , I recalled someone said "you have fallen arches" ...."and what does that mean ? " , I asked...."it may cause problems in the future"....and so it came to be. I am now 55 and I can walk 4 to 5 city miles twice a week. I can squat lightly and my glutes are coming back. Thank you so much, your exercises are for "advanced" recovery and I am now at that point....One of my legs still feels a bit longer than the other but I am constantly getting better. .......Regarding fallen arches, one can recover COMPLETELY AT ANY AGE ,since it is a treatable structural defect.....I thought I was DONE by age 46 !!! *BLESSINGS !!! ~~;)

    How often would you recommend doing these exercises to achieve a ballerina-like graceful pointed toe? I do pole fitness and having pointed toes is a must. I also have flat feet, not sure if that affects my ability to point. Thanks!

      Victor Stewart It might take longer, but it will help.

    • @Pinksleek
      @Pinksleek 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Victor Stewart the ones where she uses a foot stretcher or the couch are 👌. Once you do that practise pointing your toes to increase the actual arch strength. What I focus on is relaxing the muscles on top of the foot by using say an arch stretcher. Then actually strengthening the arch by pointing my foot. Hope that helps.

    I always have troubles doing the five positions... I mean, I can put my feet in the right position, but no way I can keep the balance. do you think it's a flexibility problem? or rather a balance one? If you could do a video with exercises to solve the problem, it would be more than helpful for people who have the same problem as I do.
    With love 💗 And thanks again for all the flexibility videos. I started very recently and I'm sure I'm getting some results :)

      Leerya P. I don't know if I can help you, but I think that it is that your legs aren't so turned out. It would be better when you would do "smaller" fifth position and over time you can do right fifth position and I think that it could help☺ I don't know if I said right reason, but I do ballet and I think that it could be like this☺

      What exactly are you trying to get
      But whatever it is you will get it someday as long as you push through the pain, even if it seems endless
      If you give up however, you will never get it
      If you push through the tears and pain you will come out of the end of this long tunnel, stronger than you ever have been
      You will learn to push through everything, develop your willpower to stop you from coming out and eventually, it will get less painful
      If you take my middle splits for example, I was screaming in pain, but I didn’t let myself relieve from the horrible pain I was in, I pushed harder to the point where I had to bite my wrists to stop myself from coming out
      A few months later I’m sitting here, writing this comment with my middle splits
      Anyone can do it if they try but if you don’t try and push past your limits you’ll never improve and you will eventually give up
      Think of it as a rope that you can climb to happiness or you can fall into the sadness down below
      What would you choose? Well obviously the happiness at the top of the rope, but it will take effort, pain, tears and willpower to get to the top, for the happiness that lives up there
      If you can muster up the grit and willpower to just keep moving up that rope, if you can get up there you have it
      If you fall down and give up you’ll never get it
      Don’t let go of that rope 💖💖

    Guys please be careful with a foot stretcher! Make sure you feel the stretch in the right spots ! Not the Achilles’ tendons ! And don’t hold it for like 2 minutes or crazy numbers! Only 30-45 secs MAX! PLZ B SAFE!
