I used paint stripper from a can and brushed it on, take 15 mins and you get 100% of your old paint off. NO scratching ! Heat gun won't really remove heat paint.
Your show is my favorite one on the “TH-cam” … thank you for the making it happen. It’s not easy I bet.

I have a nephew the same age called Josh he's 17 in 2 weeks, he's got a corsa that looks like a VXR he helped me put brake pads in it yesterday it also needs front shocks he's gonna help me with that too. Great to see yous bonding over cars keep it up

Oven cleaner(easy off) works really well to strip paint off parts.... better results and safer than aircraft stripper. Spray it on pretty well, let it sit for 20-30 min. And wipe off.

I don't think most people understand here on TH-cam or on this forum here you have to understand that that car might be cheap for a Ferrari but a maintenance is absolutely ridiculous that's where they stick you
You could get a sandblasting tip for pressure washer and it would give u uniform finish without shiny spots left by brush

Cam cover likely had high heat paint applied so a chemical stripper was needed, maybe even cheap oven cleaner or nail polish remover could have worked. The chime in from Samcrac was funny and great you include music during times when dialog or background sound isn't necessary.

henryhol8538 I really like the GT4, it was actually the first ever Ferrari I bought and put down a deposit on. A project car 25 years ago. Unfortunately the seller couldn’t find all the paperwork so the deal fell through and it wasn’t for another 6/7 years I managed to get a 348 Spider

Be sure the belts are fresh, I found out how important that was, with a used 328 I bought cheap years ago.

My dream car. I drive past a road I red 308 gts in London when I was travelling for work but I didn't have the time to go look. It was on 42k , full Fezza history , £19,995.
That was 2012. I regret it almost hourly .

There are polycarbonate "single edge razor blades" that make good disposable scrapers. Won't scratch metal or glass, FYI.
But if you ship that car over to the States, I can clean that entire engine bay for you.(g)

I wanted to move up to the 328 with a little more hp. Didn’t realize they were twice the price. I thought about the 348 and then saw how beautiful the 355 Ferrari was I was going to buy one of those but after seeing all the reviews on the expense on a 355 probably going to just go after a Californian that way I can drive it every day if I want
David, ill try and do a Cam Timing belt full service video on the 355 if I ever get the time. That way you can buy the pretty 355 and maintain it yourself

Oven cleaner will eat that paint, or John Deere paint and decal remover. If you have a big enough can of carb dip, that'll do it too.

Try and find a bargain ferrari in australia! Almost impossible these days, 10 years ago you could buy a rusty uk 400i for $10-$20k not any more, $80k for a cheap mondial these days.

Those Fiero replicas are actually really good with all the dimensions
Ratarossa Yeah it had the correct lights , badges and wheels . People would ask if it was real and I’d say lift the engine cover and have a look . They would see all the factory stickers and overlook the 6 HT leads 🤣
simon hanlon brilliant !!! I had a replica 246 Dino many years ago (there’s some crappy videos of it in my channel) .... that was a very good replica. It would fool most ferrari owners including the ones who thought they knew it all 😂

Hello I like these films, allows one to envisage that I could perhaps do the same, don't have your range of skills,everyone's skill set varies, my question is or observation is, you could do with a workbench, outside temporary clamp it to the fence with a roof over bit of ply an felt. Did the surface of the cam cover get marked by the tarmac? Or is it recessed? I tend do srewbolt items to plywood then clamp ply to bench then stripping is easier as you can lean on it more, I could make you a bench I find years of kneeling an crouching catches upon you, thankyou for the films my comment meant to be supportive not a diss, cheers.

The way you approach the paint removal was so poorly considered- the marks made by the wire wheel would take an age to polish out surely? Why did you not go with paint stripper as a first choice?
For future reference and if you can get your hands on one then a steam cleaner (not just a jet wash or even pressure cleaner) can be invaluable on such jobs - remember we now cut steel using water and so paint removal is not too tricky. Water is amazing in the nooks and crannies that we struggle to even work with paint stripper. The price of the 2nd hand brake quadrants is gob-smacking - would have been interesting know price for complete unit from new parts?
I'm not here just to knock you and appreciate your videos very much. I like Jay Lenos thoughts on Italian cars and small oil passages combined with colder climates- basically he considers that Italian cars are built for the warm climate and thus nice thin oil. In colder climates oil will be thicker on start up and will take time to flow through the small passageways in the block - he thinks it very important not to rev the engine for a minute or two in order that the oil will warm and be flowing nicely before you put strain on the motor by making her spin up... It just makes sense to me - especially with components costing what they appear to! I can feel myself heading into a Ferrari parts price wormhole... what have you started :-) ? Beats songs of praise :-)
Oh yeah - wasnt the end pot completely filled with oil when you removed the plug? What did you do to resolve the issue?

It is possible if you are 17 ish to get a cool car, but you have to work hard for it.

This was a disappointing video. Description has nothing to do with the video, and you don’t show how you actually fixed anything, except using a wire brush on a drill. This channel has so much potential but the content is too scattered.
Marco, I try to mix it up a bit. I do full fixing video's also ...even to the extreme of step by step doing a FULL cam belt service on a 360 so literally anyone could follow it now.
Don't trust any advise from TH-camrs who film in portrait. Seriously
