Just finished an Antistasi solo playthrough and dunno, THAT to me really summed up what ARMA does well. Although for a new player, commanding squads, and teammates and everything else is probably way beyond them, what with a Y menu, a Command menu, having to use function keys plus control stances... Use a mortar, use a drone, build fortifications or cement bunkers/towers. Really something else. Loved it. The idea of slowly taking over this island, with what starts as a ragtag group of rebels.
Honestly i feel this offical addon is kinda meant to be supplemented by the community ww2 addons. The sounds and tank combat are very different and is a breath of fresh air with the new tank cannon sounds.
it's sorta needed, the content is somewhat lacking outside of the map/missions made. It's all really just high quality reskins. I'm definitely excited for more, WW2 is my stuff.
Thanks for the review and game play. Bought the DLC last night, and then spent rest of the night downloading and installing Arma3. 😢… might get a go on the game tonight 😂
True, but in the same way the Prairie Fire Missions brought an amazing immersive 'behind the enemy lines Special Forces" experience to Arma, I feel that Spearhead has brought an amazing immersive "World War Two Big Battle" experience.
This would have been perfect if it run better than the 30 FPS which I see you are getting. Believe it or not but playing at 60 FPS stable makes a huge difference and until Bohemia Interactive improves de base engine to run at 60 FPS at least on modern hardware then I will continue to support Arma 3, otherwise it is just a scam really, like buying a nice new paint for my old Volkswagen beetle... The "paint DLC" might look nice but the engine underneath just doesn't cut it anymore considering the textures, assets and map sizes.
I don’t know man I’ve always had a problem with arma 3. I don’t know what it is but it’s just doesn’t feel like a good game. Whether it’s the aesthetics or the movements mechanics. Something just feels off about that game. Especially when you compare it to arma 2
@@luigisaguier8336 don’t think that’s it. Engine is fine. Arma 2 used the same one and feels leagues better than this game. This game feels bland and lifeless by comparison
Totally disagree. ARMA can certainly be accused of being too ambitious and taking years to reach a 'finished' if not polished state. But it succeeded in being a game where you can do a little bit of everything. Going solo, commanding a team, being part of a team, firing a mortar yourself, calling in a mortar strike, flying a helicopter yourself, driving an APC, flying a drone, I mean, goddamn.
@@023achilles To be honest, all that Arma 3 needs is optimization, other than that it is a great game. But poor hardware utilization makes the game "not future proof", and it is sad that in 10 years even with quantum computers we will still run Arma 3 at 60 FPS because it can't use more than one CPU core and underuses the GPU too...
@@wolfenstein6676 Until they solve the mystery of AI being able to see through dense foliage, trees and most objects. Arma3 will always be second to whatever else is on the market. I am a huge fan, 1000's of hours playing and editing, 1000's of hours on OFP and series, but Arma3 always disappoints.
That's a pity, the game looks great on video. They have the same A.I. problem in Operation: Harsh Doorstop, the devs are still working on a fix for it. Thanks for your reply.

It is the terribly outdated engine, still on an older version of DirectX 11 that severely limits what it can do with modern hardware

@@023achilles I didn’t say arma. I said arma 3. Arma 3 feels off. Especially when compared to arma 2.
It feels unhinged to reality compared to arma 2
I've bought it and I am very disappointed, I do not recommend anyone buy it.
