    *I bought these and used them at the river where I get snags often they have done a **enjoyable.fishing** recommend great job of not breaking along with some strong line I purchased as well. They are super durable and easy to use.*

    The basic skills, the proper use of the tools and equipment involved too, needed to make these rigs and you have demonstrated it very well. I have been thinking of doing just this for several months but seeing it done here was the impetus I needed to get my rear in-gear. Thank you very much!

    Can you pass it through the loop of the hook instead ? So that the hook moved freely? Isn't it better?

    Never use nylon coated wire. the crimps hold just the coating amd the wire will slide out the crimp on sharks 5ft plus. It has happened to me. I use the non coated braided wire with double crimp sleeves at swivel and hook. you can even circle your wire back into the bottom of the sleeve and leave no tag end.

    What size swivel is this?

    When I use surflon I just twist it and run my lighter across the twists and no need for sleeves

      Are you the video I just watched where you have on a brown beanie and your heating the surflon with your lighter after wrapping it six times if not I just seen the video of a guy doing that with no crimping sleeve which is pretty cocky I would hate to lose a fish behind not using the crimping sleeve

      Mate, it appears to be a Suicide hook or even a Beak hook... a big one.. maybe size 8/0 or something... Nice looking hook isn't it...

    Are those jinkai crimpers? And will they work for 0.8 / 50 pound mono

    • @peterc11364
      @peterc11364  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I don't think so. The minimum of this crimper is 80#. Usually you do not crimp mono below 100 lbs.

      Yes, that was a jinkai crimper. I had switched to Billfisher HD800 Heavy Duty Crimper since this video.

      pee cee what would be a good brand crimper for 50#

    • @peterc11364

      I am not sure if they ever made one. Because by crimping a 50# mono would reduce it's strength a lot.
      Besides the crimper, finding a double barrel crimp could be another problem.
      But, if you insist to do one using a short nose pliers will work. Lock the jaws of the pliers on a vise then drill a proper size hole through the gap. Do not use a good pliers which could be difficult to drill through. Get one from 99 cents store, they are made with softer steel but still strong enough to crimp the copper barrel.
      Good luck.
