Are you a complete beginner or novice trail rider and trying to decide between the Honda CRF250F vs CRF250R vs CRF250RX? Some pretty big differences between these models will affect your confidence when learning to ride trails, so you don't want to buy the WRONG dirt bike!

Man, I love my 250rx. The map settings really help with the snappiness. Although probably not the best bike for single track, but capable nonetheless. Love the content. Cheers.

I rode a few months ago - I agree, very fun bike, but more than I need for the trail riding I do. Thanks for watching, Rick!

I was hoping to get a CRF250F, KLX230R, or KLX300R as my first dirt bike after spending a few months on a KLX300 dual sport off road. I rode a buddy’s CRF250F and instantly realized a dual sport is no replacement for a purpose made trail bike. I went to a power sports dealership to get one of those bikes I mentioned and none were in stock. They had a CRF250RX on the showroom floor ready to go and a WR250F in a crate. I got the CRF250RX. At first it was like two steps back. It was difficult to get used to the power and I was trying to use it on tight single track. Great bike, and I got pretty good on that bike, but the bike was best when I could open it up. The whole bike just seemed to reward fast riding, but the trails I typically ride seldom get above 20 mph. I traded the CRF250RX for a Beta XTrainer. That bike seems just as easy to ride as the CRF250F, but also way more capable. Only downside is carburetor instead of efi.

I wouldn't of been able to convince myself 10+ years ago that I did not need MX bike power. You are right.

Ha, yeah it's a common habit - letting ego get the best of you is easy for us dirt bikers for some reason...

Id like to have the F for winter and friends just cruising and plating. That said the few miles I've put on my new to me R have me 🤯and❤️. apparently in the last 10 years they made 250s feel like 125s. It's a great time to be alive!

im a fresh beginner to dirt bikes and looking for something that can handle well on both pavement (such as neighborhood roads) and also trails, i also wanna make sure i get something that lasts while staying in the budget of around 500-850, would you recommend one of these bikes or something else for me? (im also 13 if that contributes to anything)

Thanks for watching! I hate to say it, but there isn't a bike that I know of that exists within that price range.

Does weight and height noticeably affect performance on a 250f? I am 260 / 6’1” looking to buy my first bike

A little bit, but I wouldn't worry about it if this is your first bike. The suspension will be a little bit soft, but it won't hold you back until you start riding faster.

At what point do you go from a beginner to being ready for the 250rx?
I have a 230f right now and not sure what to move to next

Great question, Meghan! First, what's your reason/goal for wanting to upgrade to the 250RX? Also, what kind of riding are you doing?

I’m in the exact same boat by switching to a crf230f to thinking of getting a 250rx, I’d like to have more power in 5th gear and have started to try out a bit of track riding

The crf250f is a good honest motorcycle and does everything i want it to do and it lugs really well its definitely got the tractor factor going on.

Hey J, if you're referring to the workshop training, then it is 100% free. I also offer personalized help that is not free. I'm not sure how you expect me to keep making "free content" on youtube if I never make money to support the business and my family. Thanks for watching.

Anyone of those bikes would be good for beginners depending on the goal...you dont ride a crf250f on a mx track even remotely competitive.

    • @MotocrossHideout
      @MotocrossHideout  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I totally agree that the CRF250F does not belong on an MX track. However, I don't believe that the 250R or 250RX are good for a true beginner - they shouldn't be on a race track if they're just starting out. Thanks for watching!
