My favorite is when my bike is overheating but the spark plug is black..
Nice vid. Are they difficult to start in 30 degree temp? Would you choose this klx140 over the crf125?
Good question. In stock form it might be hard to start because it's lean from the factory. If you go richer on the pilot jet and/or tune the mixture screw then it should start fairly easy with a strong battery. I like the KLX140 in most categories over the CRF125, but the 2019+ with EFI is the reason why we upgraded to the Honda.
@MotocrossHideout i like the higher seat height im 5'7. Seen a few under 2k near me they are 2013s though hmm
@@masterkilla77 Yeah at your height you might want to consider the KLX140G with the full size wheels (21/18") if you want to trail ride.
Hey bro, ihave dismounted mine and put to work after a lot of days, after 1 months my bike dont start again, i have see that the fuel dont go in the carb!!! Why?? It go trough the line but dont go trough the yellow attachment of carb, the breather was new….
For yellow attachment i mean the metal thing that you touch on the first second of the video
So are you saying that the fuel goes through the hose from the gas tank but it doesn't flow into the carb? The fuel inlet/elbow on this carb can be removed with the screw. You could see if that passage is clogged. Otherwise the float needle and seat might be gummed up/sticking shut, not allowing fuel to flow into the float bowl.
I don't do dirt bike riding, I'm a cruiser crotch rocket rider, when I'm hitting the curves I put my junk right up on the tank I put a dual sport tire on front of VRod, makes riding in gravel much better
I think u forgot the honda crf450x the 2022 had a bunch of controls to tame the power or open it up had has a 6gear I would definitely not say for a beginner but Advance rider would be perfect and then he could go pro
I have a Honda 2005 cr 85 and the thing has the most insane power band ever
What about revving to the moon after a rebuild? Is that a jetting problem? I’ve messed with air screws, replaced rubber boots, new carb, and cannot figure it out to save my life. Any help is appreciated
It didn't do that before the rebuild? It does sound like an air leak. Does it do that just when you first start it up? Any chance the throttle cable is pinched/stuck open or the idle screw turned in too far? It doesn't take much for it rev up high.
@ I didn’t own it before the rebuild so it’s hard to say. But no the throttle is closed all the way. I haven’t run it long enough to see if it will idle down because it revs so high I don’t want to blow it up. I’m just thinking it’s a jetting issue or I’ve heard some crank seals or some other seals or reed valves can cause this. The bike has new intake boot and everything though, it doesn’t make any sense
@@redneck24-65 Okay, I would maybe try start it and tapping the kill switch to keep the RPM down. If it wants to keep revving after 5-10 seconds, there's likely an air leak or the pilot might be too lean.
im 130 and 17 and i ride this thing hard but i have a lot of custom parts
I thought it was 254 dry.
Probably, but there's always a difference between wet vs dry weights. Wet/curb weight is when you have all of the fluids, like gas and oil, which is the most useful number for riding.
For someone who is around 5’10” this honestly helps. I feel like lowering the suspension does help getting on the bike mainly
Thank You Very Much For Sharing 👍
My problem is a bit different.. Everyday morning when I try to start my bike it doesn't starts I have to let the reservoir fuel drain through the overflow pipe then after it starts easily.. what might be the probelm
So are you saying that you have to drain some fuel out of the float bowl before it will start easily?
Yes exactly.. it just won't start ... But when I drain some fuel it's just starts fine
@@iliyas10 Okay, yeah that sounds like the float is filling up with too much fuel. Check out this vid for proper float height adjustment and measuring: th-cam.com/video/i0uC2Aj8xvI/w-d-xo.html

Hey! I was thinking of buying one of these and was wondering how tall you are? I’m 6’2 and was wondering if I should get a bigger bike instead
I'm 5'6". You could fit on one, but the XR250 would be better since it's slightly larger :)
Ha I have a kx-112
So you said if the bike is idle to long the leak will happen. What the nxt step just let it cool dwn and add more
Just start riding it sooner. Once you get air flowing past the radiators, it will start cooling down. Otherwise, yes, shutting it off and waiting works if you have the time.
I’m 6’1 180 pounds and a very experienced rider and I absolutely love my ttr125 for around the trails and wheelies
My Man your timing couldn't be perfect..
Glad it was helpful 😀
Excellent presentation! Thank you!
Small wheel vs large just get the large. It’s only 1” difference in riding height.
Keep handlabars straight and turn by just leaning in and keeping the throttle open. That is te secret guys. You crash because you turn in too much.
Perfect example thank you for the reference
Every other video I've watched on this has said to keep the front light on sand.
Depends on what sand riding your doing. In the desert or beach yes but a motocross or trail track with sand and ruts on a corner is a little different. Your generally not going fast enough to glide across the top of the sand like on the beach or in the desert.
Videos brother
My 12yr old on his crf100f leaves me on our tight track... It's a great bike for a kid to learn how to operate gears and clutch, and learn how to corner to conserve speed. Its also low and long so he can climb a pretty steep hill. I like that the suspension doesn't handle big jumps as it keeps him closer to the ground. But of course he wants 85 mx bike, or a crf150r, next.
How about something to tool around in the yard with just under an acre. 5'7 170lbs
What's your budget?
@MotocrossHideout less than 3k would be nice. Not a beginner... looking at 110s for the smiles. If I can't find much locally thinking of a new crf110
If you're just wanting a 110, should be pretty easy to find one almost new for 3k or less. CRF110 2019+ has EFI. Otherwise KLX110 and TTR110 are good. Suspension will be soft at 170lbs, but just putting around the yard should be fine.
@@MotocrossHideout thx would u say something else be better?
I prefer EFI, but that's just me. I believe the KLX has the best overall performance and beefiest chassis, or at least they used to. TTR110 is good but doesn't have as big of an aftermarket for upgrades, if that makes a difference.
Haven't done a lot of sand riding but the gravel roads that lead from the parking lot to the trails can be sketchy too. Same principles probably apply I would think.
Gravel vs sand? I generally shift my body more on gravel because it's more slippery. So, more weight forward and on outside of seat, if that makes sense.
@MotocrossHideout outside in turns you mean?
Correct
So I'm stalling because I'm letting the clutch out too fast?
What do you think? 🙂
I recently bought a KLX150, first thing I did is change the front tyre from a 2.75-21to a 80/90-21, that extra width took away that skittish feeling in the front end, also changed rear sprocket from 52 to a 47, great little bike now.
where is the motocross hideout?
Wherever you ride 😉
Do you turn the choke off straight way after that?
It depends on how cold it is. I either turn it off when I know it will idle by itself or when it starts running poorly. Usually with 30 seconds.

Brilliant information of riding for beginners how to shift gears thanks great videos 😊👍
Hi Kelly I had that problem I bought pivot pegz , most people use for adventure riding They are expensive but I don’t miss gears and fall off the bike at the worst possible time
good info. Im riding again after 30+ years off the bike. Back in my day ( said the old man) boots were a lot more pliable. Today my A-Stars tech 7's are like big plastic clubs, can't feel a thing. My issue is the rear brake, can't feel it at all.
Ha, yeah it's a compromise of protection vs feel. Trail riding boots are generally softer than MX boots. Have you tried letting the rear brake pedal?
@@MotocrossHideout I have tried moving it up and down, still just cant even tell if Im touching it, and to have modulation I need feed back. I can depress it and have brakes , but without feel it's simply an on off switch. But, I only have about 8 hours of riding thus far and am making gains. I may try changing brake fluid ( 20 year old CRF250r) to stiffen response as well as attempt to stiffen up the motion of the arm so I can at least feel resistance to foot pressure.
Gotcha. If your boots aren't broken in yet, that will make a little difference. Also, you could try repetitively using the rear brake only to stop. Ride about 15 mph and only use the rear brake. Start with a little pressure. Progressively use more each time Pay attention to the rear and try to "feel" when it starts to lock up and slide - it won't stop as quickly once you start sliding.
I gotta 2020 kx 250 and no matter which way I adjust the cable the back tire still spins when I put it into gear and neutral is hard to find while bike is on
Are you talking about when the bike is on a stand with the rear wheel in the air? If so, that's pretty common. I'd either recommend changing oil, or perhaps checking the clutch plates to see if they're worn/warped/discolored, causing them to drag.
I'm new to your channel, and I'm really learning a lot! I just purchased a new 2025 Yamaha ttr 230,trail bike. I followed the "drill the plug out video, and your video was spot on! Thanks for the effort! Brrrappppppp!!
Cool, glad you're finding it helpful, Brian!
i am 12 years old and 5'6 and i have had a klx 110f and a xmoto 125cc i have over 40 hrs of riding time is it time i should move onto the crf 150R?
I’m 5’6 at 13 and I’m still growing, I’m looking for a Honda and the crf125fb feels smaller than I would like and so I recommended to my parent that I could get a crf230 or 250f but he thinks that I’m gonna get myself killed on it so I want to hear your advice on what I should do.
if your feet can touch the ground, and you feel comfortable doing that, go for it. You will grow into it.
Yeah, the biggest difference will be weight in size. Yes, the 230 and 250 trail bikes have more power, but they're all tame and smooth when stock. If you don't mind selling the CRF125FB in a year, you could start on that and then upgrade later, although you'll lose some money if you're buying brand new. I'm 5'6" and can ride a 125FB fairly comfortably, even though the 230 fits me better.
@@MotocrossHideout oh no I meant to mention that the don’t have a 125 I just went to my local dealer and sat on it and checked it out and stuff. I’ve only had a lot of experience with a crf70 and a crf110 because of a friend I know.
