@@ChristianMotosports Congrats big guy, idk if anyone ever got back to you, you may have figured it out by now. The blue button is to switch between to preset engine MAPs on the go. You can still change the MAPs more in depth on your app, but the button allows for it on the fly.
My first bike was a 2 stoke YZ125 when I was 14 years old I had a LOT of fun with that bike. My second bike was a Honda 4 stroke 200R. So I am NOT biased either way. That said I would without any hesitation choose the Honda.......
I love my 2020 FX. I'm working on a dedicated hot start map which appears to have helped over the past weekend as I did 30-40 hot starts without to much issue, it also didn't require opening the throttle nearly as much as previously needed if at all. For reference I've gone -3 across the bottom row of fueling and 0 on ignition. -I've done all of the other recommended fixes. Little bit more testing required as I wasn't riding the bike nearly as hard as I normally would.
@@lgraff2301 So I did a bit more enduro style riding and it seemed to like it. Normally I shift into neutral and put it into the hot start map before switching off the bike (I've it set to map 2). Wow I can't believe I didn't see this video before I bought my CRF250R. I think I would have made the switch and bought the yamaha instead because you guys are right on point, exactly what your findings are with the Honda is what I've experienced with mine. I just liked And subscribed after watching this first video I see from you guys that was recommended to me by algorithm. Thank you for your review / comparison.
@dirtbikesam been doing a lot of research and a lot of people told me they started on something tamer like a 250f trail bike and once they learned to ride they got bored and sold them for something more powerful
So 250F like these bikes are considered full fledge race bikes, while they are easier to ride then lets say a 450F they still have tons of power and just like you see in motocross a 250F can keep up with 450F bikes. I have been riding for a very very long time and the only place a 450F walks away from a 250F is in long straights, deep sand. I can ride a 250F faster then I can ride a 450F. Yes, getting a 250F is a better idea then getting a 450F but you still need to respect the power of a 250F, I feel like the number 1 goal for dirt biking is to have fun and be safe. You can learn the proper riding technique on any dirt bike but if you get hurt then that means no riding at all. Really its up to you on what you think works best for you. My first full size dirt bike was a CRF250X which is a milder version of these race bikes in the video.
Honda needs a *6 speed transmission, electric fan kit*, and another model for woods enduro with lights like the WR from Yamaha. Wish they would build a bike like RedMoto offers. The 6 speed makes a huge difference and no sprocket gearing changes can overcome lack of 6 gear.
As much as I like Hondas, have to agree in everything you said. This CRF 250RX is pretty much an MX bike with an 18 inch wheel rear tire. There is market for that I’m sure, but I want a nice 4 stroke enduro bike with Honda reliability.

I’ve had both bikes in Europe, wr250 and 250rx Red moto version. I used to be Yamaha guy, but jerky low rpm power and absolutely shitty starting, which I couldn’t fix even with the help of dealers, felt so annoying that rx is an easy choice for me. Rx suspension was tweaked only once and it serves now well everywhere from slow rocky terrain to motocross track. The advantages Yamaha seems to have will be outperformed by rx, when you start riding fast: eg better torque on low rpm didn’t matter much, because you anyway you need to rev these small 4-strokes.. If Yamaha could fix the issues, I could try them again
Would definitely like to see how the KTM 250XC-F stacks up to the Yamaha but a huge factor always seems to come back to Yamaha’s out of the box KYB setup.

I love two strokes but they cost way more money and time to upkeep. We raced two YZ250Fs, Yz450, and a Wr450 for years. The 250f’s needed a full rebuild about every 18 months. None of the 450’s ever did, none ever had a valve go out of spec, just a few clutches and a hub. Our 2T 85’s held up good, our 150R’s held up great, the 125 and 250 smokers were major pia’s. Our CR250R needed p iston and or rings monthly, the KX125 could not stay on track for crank and cylinder problems. One of our friends was sponsored by Kawasaki, they could hardly afford to run the KX125 because the bike was free but they had to pay for parts. You eat two cranks in a month plus a cylinder that’s bad.

The flame outs on the Honda can be fixed by simply turning your idle up. Might not be a 100% fix but it will help.
