Today we drive a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG 507 Edition, one of the last great N/A cars from AMG to showcase the glorious 6.2L V8 that has become so popular in the last 10 years. Will we miss it?

Hell no. The only thing the old one is better in is sound thats it. new c63 looks way better. Its interior also makes the old c63 interior look like outdated trash. Not to mention its far more luxurious, more comfortable, better handling, better transmission, faster, quicker, more fun to drive, more agile and it also sounds great without being a mosquito gas guzzler which the old c63 is.

My cousin has this car. He rarely drives it and has it as an occasional joyride every other weekend or so. Ive ridden in it a few times, and even though my JDM ´fanboying´, its very luxurious but agressive & raw at the same time, as soon as you push the gas, you unleash its beautiful roar.
I know how the traction and wheelspin is an issue when trying to accelerate. but once you get the hang of the throttle, its power is quite remarkable.
This has to be my favourite german car (in terms of luxury*sporty), truly amazing! lucky owner!
Leo Soto oh god I hope he didn't get it brand new? Why would anyone baby a C63 (in my region, even 507s depreciated quite a decent amount compared to some other options around that price. Heck a Cayman S with less MSRP is worth more than the 507 here!) they depreciate so hard (and in the sports car world, they are pretty cheap brand new too for entry luxury brands, ), there's really no point to save the car like that haha, the vehicle is barely over 80k most of the time and loses way too much value over the first few year, albeit probably better than a M car. Might as well drive and enjoy and depreciate than to depreciate and not drive...Not like it's a very rare or limited vehicle.
Probably just a personal thing for the owner to preserve the paint or w/e. May depreciate in value, but repair prices on this sure won't depreciate, lol.
ZDY no, 507s with low mileage are actually going for more than 60-70 grand.
not sure what area you are in to have that kind of ridiculous pricing, i am assuming you are not in America or in a nation with slightly higher taxations.
I just checked auto trader. i am in Canada (generally exact same intrinsic value pricing as USA), and a 2015 507 is BARELY worth 55k CAD on the low end, and highest price point for a 507 that is barely driven and loaded is still roughly 68k. The average seems to be around 60k to 63k.
My Cayman GTS is only a year younger, about the same MSRP of a fully loaded 507 (which is now 68k), and my market price in Canada is still roughly 89 to 96 depending on region, it is 96 in my region(CAD is worth less than USD, just in case you are not familiar). My car brand new MSRP was only 103k.. So in comparison, yes, yes the 507 holds fairly well for a c63, standard c63s are worth pennies after 3 years. However, there are still better options there, and it still depreciates quite a bit. Keep in my 507 and my GTS are roughly the same price in Canada (give or take depending on options).
Theres no point in babying these cars unless you are a collector. They are a dying breed and gem of a car, but it wont be reflected in pricing for quite a while, might as well enjoy the beauty. This isnt a GT4 or a GT3 afterall, where you drive off the lot and your car's value basically went up instead of down (well maybe only because people kept flipping it, after that event Porsche implemented very case by case allocation system to stop such flipping, although it will simply make resale transactions less, but valuations probably still go up due to low supply and high demand).
So yes you are right they are around barely 60k USD, But none currently listed are anywhere near 70k USD.
And this also doesn't not make them count as highly value retaining vehicles either.
A low spec GT4 is only a bit More money for way more growth rather than depreciation.

Interior look like trash? I agree when it comes to the pre-facelift C63, but the facelift C63 still holds up. And i actually prefer the prev C63 facelifts steering wheel.

All I can say is future classic. This is a car so special you have yo try it to understand its glory. The previous range of c63s beneath it hierarchy wise are completely bland in comparison. Like comparing a standard 911 to a Gt3. The Black Series is too extreme and already too expensive while this hits the sweet spot while still managing to be attainable, for now. Just like the Mustangs, Camaros, Novas, Chevelles and other muscle cars of yesterday, this will be worth keeping when big naturally aspirated engines will be a thing of the past. Very collectible and very enjoyable. Thanks for making a video about a fun car and thank you AMG for sending it off the best way possible.

i own a 2012 C63 --has the EC tune and res delete. Amazing car. Its a joy to drive and own. I do prefer it more than the newer model.

W204 is just such a good chassis. I'm glad I picked mine up in December. Drove the W205 for a bit but the transmission is not as smooth and it doesn't feel as sturdy. Nice tech however
This engine is a masterpiece, the last naturally aspirated C63 AMG and a true V8 soundtrack from that 6.2L V8 monster! Huge torque and if wanting 500bhp+ the Edition 507 version is one to get. A very special limited edition using forged piston, lightweight crank and other race spec components from the SLS. This engine will echo in eternity! (Gladiator quote steal!) Such an animal to drive, yet so poised like a true AMG. It’s phenomenal! I bought one over an Aston Martin Vantage as benefits from Mercedes AMG engineering and sensible (relatively) ownership costs. Values on the up!! (Think last of the air-cooled 993 911’s!)
It's April 2021 and just love this C63 AMG 507 edition W204! what hypnotic sound what a beauty! True pure force normally aspirated V8! German Muscle Car! Great video.
If you're using that as a benchmark of masking the the speed and especially the torque (BTW the way just sold an ML63 AMG), better get your hands on a V12 Benz like I did. Nothing masks the speed and torque of the V12 monster. Throw in a Renntech kit and well, for all the pensioners out there who remember The Jackie Gleason Show, soon you'll be yelling "you're goin to the moon Alice" :-) I've never had so much fun beetin' up in young guys in their Vettes, Lambo's, Audi S8's, Aston Martins, etc.

Fellow Canadian here! Great video and solid review. Absolutely love the W214 63 AMG and I miss mine as it was an absolute monster stock but with an Eurocharged tune and AFE Filters, it made it even more insane.

Indeed it will be missed! I love how reviewers talk about “minor” Turbo lag with the 4.0 engine, as if it’s a good thing.
And the 4.0 making more HP and torque!? No not in the C class cars
there is NO turbo lag on the w205. reviewers dont understand the point of comfort mode.
in any other mode , it is already a 4 litre monster engine without the turbos kicking in. when the turbos kick in, they kick in progressively. it is the best and most linear throttle response you will find on any turbo engine car other than a super car like a Ferrari.

Also the alloys appear to have been aftermarket coated, the standard black alloys are a more satin black with silver rim, although it is definitely a 507, but yeh, no clue why you'd delete the AMG side stripes?

This is type of car that looks better in 4 doors than a coupe. Just for some reason it doesn't look right.

IMO, if i would want the 4 door, i would get the E63 (prev 5.5L turbo, not the new shit sounding 4L turbo).
When i buy this car, i want it to sit with it’s rivals and fit in (M3 E92/M4 and RS5). And since the chassi is a small C Klass, those are 4 very small doors. You best belive i’ll sit there with 2 door. But to each their own i guess

Yes it will be missed. These cars need a N/A v8. Same thing with Ferrari. They need to stay with the N/A setup. It’s in the history of the company. Two options should be there. N/A and turbo. True enthusiasts should be given the option and these brands shouldn’t be changing their cars and succumbing to selling to all the rich people who never drive there cars a mph faster than the limit.
the brands have no choice. they are LEGALLY obligated to reduce their emissions. Audi , BMW, Porsche etc can't even sell some of their go fast models in the UK at the moment because they don't meet enforced criteria. no M3 , no RS3 , RS4 etc can be built using the configurators in the UK.And this is AFTER downsizing.

J Gripen beautiful engine in terms of sound only. Its a mosquito gas guzzler otherwise which is just not practical for a daily driver sports car.

It’s subjective. I personally find the older C63 BS which is wider, better looking than the new one. I like the new one too, but the prev one look so much more elegant.

Don’t use it in manual mode! S+ mode and forget about manual. The auto is awesome in S+ (in the Coupe, sedans have an older trans pre 2012)
I almost never use the S+ mode , , The downshifting noise in manual is soo much fun! , Think I'll give it a try though...

Quatschmichnichtdicht It shares most parts but, for example the 507 didn’t come stock with a diff like Black Series, so this one might not have it. They all came with a electronic mimic of an LSD though. Also, the Black Series has 390mm front brake discs and 507 360mm. The BS also has upgraded suspension, and of course a wide body.

Do you think is a good idea buying this car as a first sport car ? I don't have any experience driving more than 200hp cars so I'm a bit worried about the power in this car
I own the PPP model with almost 490bhp, i am 22 and all ive driven before is a fiat 500, a vauxhall vectra and a citreon c2 (all absolutely gutless piles of rubbish) and the c63 is so easy to drive. If traction control is on you can floor it and youll be fine. Dont switch to this car and turn off traction and start flooring it round corners until youre used to it.

666demonknight666 All of them are prone to this failure unfortunately, so you never know! Better fix it before losing your engine.
I have never heard about a C63 507 having this problem. Many of the upper engine parts are borrowed from the upgraded m159, so they're different. Correct me if I'm wrong
zNYGv it's M156 wet sump. My 2009 E63 had this problem, fixed it before engine failed.
That’s the problem with AMGs. They make good power but the engine components aren’t reliable. Who’s going to pay for the repair if some poor bugger bought the car as certified used after the warranty runs out? I’m sure AMG aren’t going to pay for it.

The M3 has a built-in issue where the rod bearings might need replacement. If ignored it destroys the engine. The later M156 engines don't have any such afflictions (the head stud issue was resolved in 2011). If you are a manual transmission aficionado then there is no debate, the E92 is the choice.
I drove multiple E92 before getting a C63: it's a great chassis and wonderful engine but it's all very serious and doesn't have a sense of humor. You have to treat the engine like it's an S2000 to really get going because the torque that is there--only 289lb-ft--is delivered quite high in the rpm range. The C63 is backfiring and grumbling and having a grand ol' time at 30mph. Take your pick but I think for the can-I-be-entertained-at-speeds-that-won't-get-my-license-revoked the C63 wins every time.
Just put wider sticky tires on rear. Problem solved .

Koji Takata hell no. The m156 sounds better but that's about it. M178 is way more powerful, more torque... Hence better performance overall, and it sounds great without being a mosquito gas guzzler which the m156 is.

I traded it for GLC43 AMG crossover and man! It’s fast 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds! All wheel drive with air suspension.. can’t beat that!

Freimopp777 my GLC43 sounds fantastic with pops and crackles on overruns and 💥 loud “pow” when you apply the brake sudden while going 70 mph.
I gets lots of attention when I drive my crossover people think it’s V8 sound and I tell them it’s a V6. AMG is downsizing to V6 now and my V6 has the potential of 500 + horsepower but Mercedes is reserving it for near future due to marketing. We will soon see 3 seconds to 60 mph as time goes on.

Yes it will be missed no doubt has way more emotion than the new car imo looks better exterior wise. And in a straight like its pre much the same shit as the newest c63s. Like the m4 yes the new car overall faster and more efficient than the old one but the new one lacks character. Also has proper muffler tips no cost cutting bs like in the new one.
