i got this bike , doany of you know what that backlight is that some have on youtube ? it is that the numbers are lid up against a dark background , saw that just then and thought it looked good but cant find any info online bout it
***** yes , i did not mean this . check the display on this r1 : th-cam.com/video/PbrL1WDoqG0/w-d-xo.html
wasn't me or is this maybe just the lightest setting and the camera makes it looks as if the letters light up rather then the background ?
*****!!! ))
wasn't me what were you talking about with your light issue?
I believe the all black Raven edition R1 has the inverse display with light numbers against the black background
excellent video . because some bikes immobilizer r1 does not have the key, and if you have other models?
I have a 2013 GSXR 750...u?
excuse .... This bike has immobilizer (key with sensor), or dependent on other versions of the bike R1.
Need the key...
Sweet! Thanks for the help man
Bryan Hunter no problem, anytime...let me know if you have any vid requests and i'll see what i can do...
I just now set my shiftlight and brightness
Awesome i know when i bought mine brand new it was set like at 8 or something low like that...was annoying...
Yeah it was set at 7... I'm like whaaaaat...
lol, I felt the same way...they probably do that from the factory so you won't over rev the bike during the break in process...mine has about 2600 miles on it now and did this vid after my break in period...
Are your r1 dont have key indicator ?
What u mean?
Can you plz tell me where to buy the type of your speedometer I have tried everything
It’s oem from Yamaha.
@@CrossplaneNation lol
My 09 r1 shift light comes on in 6th gear 7k rpm is that normal and why does it do that if I can’t shift should I change it I just don’t know where to set it at I don’t want to over stress the engine
The light comes on at 7k in all the other gears as well? You dont have to shift whem the light comes on, you can always shoft before it. I set my light really high 10 11k range.
Nice one bro
Right on my man...
Do you know what to reset check engine light
No i dont
Thx a lot for this awesome info man!
I got a 2012 model R1. But it doesn't like slow driving. It gets overheated... (yes, the fan is going, but it doesn't help much). I've sometimes reached 120 degrees Celsius (the red light comes on at 117 degrees Celsius).
Did u face this issue on your R1? Or do you know what the solution would be?
Hope for an answer.
Best regards.
Didnt have any overheating issues on mine. I would recommend sending ur ecu out for a flash tune to superbikes unlimited. You can have them program the ecu to kick the fan on at lower temps, which i think i had mine come on at 195 degrees F...costs like 150 bux or around that. Fan should kick on at 200 to 205ish degrees F. Might need a new thermostat or water pump as well...i also had an older bike where i wired in a switch to the fan and would click it on in traffic...
@@CrossplaneNation thx for your recommendation :)
Yes sir good luck
Can you change mPH to KMH by holding the select button? Where are you from?
Not sure tbh. Sold the bike yrs ago. I know it can be done, just have to cycle through the options. I'm in Texas.
Can water temp change form ℉ to ℃ ? Thanks.
Just cycle through the options
Thanks.
Welcome
Thank you but ı dont understand because my english is not good
Hi bro, thanks for this very very useful. Can you please explain the second part of the shift light, why does it need to be set on a higher RPM to be TURNED OFF? Also why is your shift light set to 9,500RPM when the R1 peak power is at approx 12,400RPM?
Many thanks from London
Here is what I know...for example, if you set the 1st light to 12000 rpm and then the 2nd to an rpm less than the 1st, it should deactivate the light (from what I read from the owner's manual). If you set the 2nd light to a higher rpm than the 1st, the 2nd light will go off after it has reached that max rpm set within the range you have selected...
I believe the concept behind the shift light is to initially light up, letting the rider know you are in the zone you 1st have it set for and will quit blinking/lighting when you exit the 2nd max zone set.
I now have the light to blink 1st at about 11k rpms and to go off around 14.5k rpms. Not sure why I had it set so low, but I can imagine it had something to do with the fact that I was a little nervous when I 1st got this R1.
I had been off a bike for about 4 years and needed to get my groove back...and can't wait to show it now that I am set up again with a better camera system again...
Hope all is well in London my man...if I didn't answer your question, let me know and I will give it another go!!! Be safe out there bro!!!
Hey bro, thanks for your reply. I actually just bought this bike brand new (2011 model with 0 mileage) and got a sweet deal on it with ALL the extra mods included: Akrapovic full system, power commander v, custom map, rear sets, brembo master cylinder, tail tidy, rear light/built in indicator turn signals, new Michelin Pilot Road 3's etc
I previously had the 2008 R1 from new for almost 9 years!
The custom map showed on the dyno that peak power for the crossplane R1 is around 12,400RPM after that it trails off despite the 14,500 redline. I currently have my shift light set to 12,400RPM, however as you said this bike wants the shift light set for both ON and OFF. I got thinking why did Yamaha do this? Then it occurred to me: they to help you keep in the meat of the power band and at max torque when you're riding!
So now I have set the shift light ON for 7,000RPM (factory setting for when the power really kicks in) and I set it to turn OFF at 12,400RPM (when the power peaks) because that way you know you are in the meat of the power. As soon as you come out of the power time to shift up a gear if the power flattens out, or drop a gear if your revs drop below 7,000RPM to keep the revs in the meat of the power. I also set it to a constant light as opposed to a flashing light which is distracting. Hope it helps, what are your thoughts?
Can't wait for this shitty winter to hurry up so spring can come hahahaha I can't stop looking at my bike and daydreaming for some dry hot sunnny days!!!!
I have tried both the constant and blinking light. It was difficult for me to keep my eye on the light and the road at 140mph+ when on the highway trying to "get it." So, I went with the blinking light and I am now able to use my peripheral vision a little better as it begins to blink.
I know what you mean about just staring at the bike. I think I did that for a year straight when I 1st got mine, and also the 13 750 and 08 Harley that I have as well...
I think you are going to love the crossplane R1 vs your 08 you had previously. What do you think so far? I raced a guy with an 06 and he didn't stand a chance, but I am lowered, flash tuned, and sprocketed...
If you get a chance, you will definitely want to send your ECU out for a flash tune...you will wake up a monster that you never thought you had. I sent mine to Superbikes Unlimited, but I am in the States.
Too bad about your weather...I am in south Texas and today the high is going to be almost in the 70s. Of course the weather fluctuates, but we only have about 2 to 3 months of cold cold weather!
My rpm light works. But don't come on where I setup even if I rev it to the red ?
What yr model and did u disable the light by chance???
Crossplane Nation I just bought a used R1. 2013.
My light doesn’t come on at all even when redline. Maybe it was disabled ?
Yes, i think u can turn it off as u cycle through your options. I could be wrong tho...
fuel guage?
No fuel gauge, just fuel light will come on when about 0.8 gallons or so...i use the number of miles driven as a good indicator for when to fill back up...about 120 miles before the light shows depending on how hard ur riding...
