    Wonderful curated collection. Thank you! In return, I offer the Antler Hat (or toque, in Canada) pattern which is available on Tin Can Knits. For free. On Ravelry there are links to tutorials to help you. Since you mentioned your devotion to cables and lace, I highly recommend 250 Knitting Patterns by Japanese publisher Hitomi Shida. Japanese knitwear designers were pioneers in combining cables and lace and the pattern book was originally published in 1996 and later revised and updated. The book is available on line for under $10.00. Worth every yen and essential to your library. Thanks again, Kaci.

    Heh. I just realized why Iove your channel so much. It's the Wes Anderson editing vibes. Very nicely done ☺

    I'm actually in the middle of making the long distance cardigan. The cable detail on the sleeves is so much fun. This is my first fingering weight garment but it is flying off my needles. Excellent pattern.

    It’s always a pleasure to spend time with you! I just finished the Purpurea pullover by Teti Lutsak. I think there might even be enough cables in there for you!

    Norah Gaughn is my favorite designer. She is an an amazing designer. Her “Norah” pamphlet s I made like all of them….1999--2009? Ish…. I only seamed my knits . I made all my sweaters in pieces as she designed that way. Now….. I love me the top down-- bottom up ones. ( like you and Becky talk about in episode 5 of that fabulous podcast…. Luv it). Thank you for today.

    Found your podcast about a week ago. Have been binge watching as I knit a sweater for 5 year old who apparently needs it NOW 😅To be fair we live in the Southern Hemisphere so it is getting cooler. I love watching/listening to you describe not only your knitting but your lifestyle. Your enthusiasm knowledge and lovely bright manner make watching like being in the company of a friend. Thank you for taking the time to share your life and talent. ❤❤

    You have such an amazing way to describing patterns that really gives a lot of credit to the designers for their creativity and design element choices. If I were a designer I would be so honored to have you discuss one of my patterns. Also btw your video editing is just absolutely top notch. Beautiful work ❤

    I've always avoided cable designs because somehow they remind me of worms and snakes! I know, totally weird. But, I love the geometric cables on the socks and mitts so maybe I can try those! Thanks for the great content, as always!

    Just made the Victoria scarf for my mom for Mother’s Day. It was a really fun and quick knit. Too bad it’s going to be 90 degrees on Sunday when I give it to her. 😅

    Super cute intro to this video and excellent content, as usual. As a new knitter I am very intimidated by cables but trying it out on the dishcloth was a great suggestion. Thanks!

    • @hattyknitsalong
      @hattyknitsalong ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I definitely recommend trying out the Victoria scarf if you’re new to cables. It repeats itself so it’s really easy to figure out and it’s super cute in the end. 😊

    Hi Kaci: fairly new to you. So fun including your beach video. Not a big fan of cables heretofore but you got me with the intro AKA handsome guy in white cabled sweater ❤ Also those symmetrical mitts and the long distance cardigan both a must. Thank You!

    I have two complicated cable designs in my queue, but maybe I need to do that fun hat in the warm season when a larger, heavier project would be a hassle.

    Hi Kaci. I was told once not to ever block cables knits because it flattens the cable but I’ve also heard that can help define the cable too. What is your opinion?

    • @YoungfolkKnits
      @YoungfolkKnits  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would always block cable knits! I think thats an important step in opening up that fabric so you can see it in all its glory! ❤️❤️❤️

    • @lucywilliamson3718
      @lucywilliamson3718 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the Perennial, there's a link in the episode description.
      I did a double take too, had to check whether Perineal means the same here in the UK and in the US...
