I bought a used PS3 from a family and it was the first time in my life handling a PS3, but I followed your guide and got it with CFW, then the family had given me several games and I followed your other guide on backing up disks and it went smooth without a hitch. I then took it a step further and got the hard drive replaced with a 1TB SSD and followed your guide on that as well, backed everything up and even got restore my back up and everything looks great, got my PS3 with backups so I can save those disks from my kids. Your channel is truly a blessing hidden in TH-cam because you deserve more subs. Again Thank you!

I had to pause and rewind about 15 times doing this, and had some setbacks because of unforeseen issues that others may face. Make sure you don’t have anything else plugged into the usb hub when you’re updating to the Evilnat CFW. I got an error message, that ended up being due to a lack of sufficient power to the usb drive, then the drive (actually it was a MicroSD card reader for usb) failed altogether and said there was no update file on the drive. Swapped it with another MIcroSD usb stick and it worked. Just thought I would leave this in case anyone else ran into this issue

Following this tutorial, on 3:30. Three beeps did appear from the console but no flash memory pop up showed up. I have a slim PS3 so it might have alternate outcomes but im not sure where to to from here without the flash memory pop up.
I ordered a whole new ps3 because i broke my other ps3 because i upgraded the cfw 4.87 to ofw 4.88 a couple days ago 😂 thanks for the help the intro was on point 100%😂

This guide works great, thank you @blainelocklair - I personally followed it to update a CECH-2503A Slim (one of the maybe/maybe not last CFWable ones, this having a minimum downgrade of 3.4 was a yes) that came to me on 4.88 up to 4.90 Evilnat. Then dropped in a 1TB HDD I have lying around (my CECH-4303A Super Slim already has PS3HEN 3.2.0 running from a 1TB SSD) and did it again, voila! Time to fill it with PS1, PS2, PS3 games...
