Thanks for the tutorial man I appreciate all your efforts. Clear, precise and to the point. Just sharing my experience you said that it may fail the 1st time then it will work. I tried about 4 times and it failed everytime. What worked for me was I added the Hen install page to bookmarks. Went back to the xmb and back into the Web page. Deleted everything in tools. Then ran the bookmarked page and clicked on the xploit button. It did the installs by itself. Then went back to the bookmarked page and clicked on Install Hen. Hope this helps people having the same problem
I watched one of your videos on how to install Hen on a PS3. I've watched a lot of videos on how to do it and yours was like far the best and very very easy and simple, and it worked flawlessly. All other videos by others were as though your taking an exam to go university. Keep making those videos cause you're doing it step by step and very simple 👍
I kept having trouble with the hfw install. Turns out it was that my controller was plugged into the other USB port and giving a power issue that made the system update fail. Heads up folks. AVOID buying the controller listed in the description. I have that very controller and it is extremely limited compared to the official controllers. There is NO pressure sensitive controls for use in any game. GTA 5 for example, throttle is either max or nothing, same with braking. Directional controls function as if you were using the directional pad buttons and not the thumb sticks. Full speed left turns, full speed looking up and down. That seems to apply to all games. Basically, it is a wireless version of the original playstation 1 controller and is just as limited. But if you do not want to aim smoothly and you don't mind the former pressure sensitive controls being eliminated, it does function. For what its worth anyway.
And there I was, looking for PS3 slims that were old enough for CFW. This is way easier as I can install it on every PS3, also for my friends! Great tutorial! Worked like a charm.
What do I do when you already have a normal 4.88 installed, and when you try to install the exploit version of 4.88, then it says no need for an update. Please help!

HEN ERROR: if you lunch Enable HEN from games and it sais "Failed. System Rebooting" then update time and date via the internet and disable internet connection from the settings menu.. Launch it again afterwards and it works.
It's unbelievable that Sony continues to "update" the PS3 firmware JUST to try to keep ahead of the hackers and users when they have otherwise basically abandoned everything related to PS3. They won't even be honest about it and keep claiming they're "improving performance" of these abandoned systems.
The only jail break youtuber that explains stuff on a step by step base. Sadly one of his vids with PS2 fmcb he downloaded a game iso using a Mac making it hard to figure it out

If your HEN keeps failing, refresh using the blue highlighted "refresh this page" underneath the "install HEN" button. Do not use the PS3 refresh in the side menu. It does not work.
@@janwick2186 set the HEN webpage as your start page and clear all the cache etc. Next time you open the browser it obviously should be your start page and initialise it from there. That worked for me.
Hello guys i have seem to find a solution here is the steps Go install the hen normally the first time and when it fails just press initialize HEN installer again without (Refreshing) this is very important once it reaches 10 percent hit O to exit then enter internet browser again go to history and click on the hen installer one (PS3 HEN Installer) then press initialize HEN installer and it will say completed or whatever once it says that press on Install HEN and it will not work the first time so press it again and it should work. for people having trouble with hen failing and failing go to the page on your ps3 browser where it saids ps3 HEN installer make sure the page is already refreshed. hold your right joystick go over to the ps3 xploilt and press triangle and close the browser. then press initialize Hen installer and it should successfully have it install worked for me.

what if you are on the HEN installer trying to "initialize HEN installer" and you have tried to do this 6 times and it has failed each time, how many times should I try or what should I check before trying again
Once you've done all this: - Can you still access the PSN store and make purchases? - Can you still play online? - How do you revert back to official Sony firmware and remove all traces of what you did? - Can you have PS2 iso's show as official games on the standard XMB? Thanks
For question 3 if your trying to revert it un moded youd have to download the sony update on a flash drive and put in you your playstation. But please back up all your game data before doing that

@@Raymander97 What I usually do is when I want to upload trophies, restart my system so it deactivates HEN and upload them so I'll be safe. Haven't had any problems so far.
I just upgraded my ps3 hard drive to 1T drive with Cfw evilnat 4.87 now I have to activate my console but can't login to psn without upgrading to 4.88... any suggestions?

Kinda new to all this and I've been having an issue when it comes to updating from the USB, it would save the update to storage but when it restarts it says that it is already up to date and there is no need to install, only problem being that the "latest" version is the unmodified one and it won't let me install the one from the USB drive

Thank you for making this excellent tutorial. This is my 1st attempt ever to jailbreak my ps3 slim. I follow step by step instruction up to click on the start button to begin the hfw installation. The screen went completely black for over 10 min with no activity light from the ps3. I have to force shut down by holding the ps3 power button. When turning on again the ps3, the screen start the update and restart once finish. I check the system information and it still show 4.88. Just to be sure, I re-run the update. This time, the screen doesn’t go black and the update seem to run smoothly without any peculiar event. I recheck system information and it’s still 4.88. I went ahead following the instruction to install HEN up to clicking on “initialize HEN installer” but nothing happen. Is there any tail tale that my system is jailbroken successfully? Update #1: Not sure if this is the cause. After turning on JavaScript, the exploit initialization is now running but always failed. Try refresh the page, redownload and overwrite old file many times but still no luck. Any idea? Update #2: I found the solution on another youtube tutorial which suggest to use the alternate Hen and cycle on/off the PS3 should the alternate Hen failed the 1st time. Now everything is working.
For anyone having the same problem: 1- Use HEN (Alternative) instead of the one in the video. 2- Enable and open remote play and then close it. 3- Go to "Network" on the main menu. You will see a new icon called "HEN". 4- Reboot the system and go to games. Do as the video said from now on. Note: It will always show 4.88. That is not an issue.
after installation of PS3 Custom Hybrid Firmware (FHW 4.88.1) (recovery mode) you'll get "latest version of the system software is already installed there is no need to update" it mean Hybrid Firmware (HFW) is installed already. Go ahead and install HEN. Thank's Blaine
FYI : If your console fail again and again to initiate HEN enabler - do it again and when you are on 10% or 20% - SHUT down your browser and repeat initialization - this time is should be succesfull!
If you receive: " The latest version of the system software is already installed There is no need to update" Plug in your usb flash drive then boot your ps3 into recovery mode by turning off your PS3. While it's turned off hold power button until you hear two fast beeps. After two beeps on the screen will show up a menu, go to system update and install the HFW 4.88 following onscreen instructions. After the reboot then just follow the instructions picking up at "Chapter 3:06 Install HEN " in the video. (Performed on a PS3 Super Slim)

No one will write in their changelog "exploit fixed" it just would be dump.
Quick tip: if the HEN initialization keeps failing, don't use the PS3 browser's refresh option. Use the webpage's refresh option.

So just the 1st initial save n cancel the rest

Took me nine tries, after unplugging usbs, deleting cookies, cache, blablabla and rebooting several times, it worked. Just keep trying :)

@@PranshuSethi yes trough usb install the 4.88 update and new HEN 3.0.3 you must conect Ps3 on internet and you download it from ps3exploit.com.you just do how the man shows here on this clip and is working perfect

Bro I did making all these steps but I was on 4.87 hfw .. does making all these steps again (with the 4.88 hfw and the new hen) affect on the multiman I installed before?

Initialize HEN installer keeps failing no matter what I do
Hi Blaine, I am unable to Initialize HEN Installer despite multiple tries. Have followed all the steps. Can someone please help!
It did the same to me, try the alternate method a few times and it should work. On the website click on HEN installer Alternate.
@@gordon3002 Hen alternate install does not work either. both installer fail for somereason

intialization keeps failing
Thank you for making this excellent tutorial. This is my 1st attempt ever to jailbreak my ps3 slim. I follow step by step instruction up to click on the start button to begin the hfw installation. The screen went completely black for over 10 min with no activity light from the ps3. I have to force shut down by holding the ps3 power button. When turning on again the ps3, the screen start the update and restart once finish. I check the system information and it still show 4.88. Just to be sure, I re-run the update. This time, the screen doesn’t go black and the update seem to run smoothly without any peculiar event. I recheck system information and it’s still 4.88. I went ahead following the instruction to install HEN up to clicking on “initialize HEN installer” but nothing happen. Is there any tail tale that my system is jailbroken successfully?
Update #1:
Not sure if this is the cause. After turning on JavaScript, the exploit initialization is now running but always failed. Try refresh the page, redownload and overwrite old file many times but still no luck. Any idea?
Update #2:
I found the solution on another youtube tutorial which suggest to use the alternate Hen and cycle on/off the PS3 should the alternate Hen failed the 1st time. Now everything is working.

For anyone having the same problem:
1- Use HEN (Alternative) instead of the one in the video.
2- Enable and open remote play and then close it.
3- Go to "Network" on the main menu. You will see a new icon called "HEN".
4- Reboot the system and go to games. Do as the video said from now on.
Note: It will always show 4.88. That is not an issue.
after installation of PS3 Custom Hybrid Firmware (FHW 4.88.1) (recovery mode) you'll get "latest version of the system software is already installed there is no need to update" it mean Hybrid Firmware (HFW) is installed already. Go ahead and install HEN. Thank's Blaine

FYI : If your console fail again and again to initiate HEN enabler - do it again and when you are on 10% or 20% - SHUT down your browser and repeat initialization - this time is should be succesfull!

Plug in your usb flash drive then boot your ps3 into recovery mode by turning off your PS3.
While it's turned off hold power button until you hear two fast beeps.
After two beeps on the screen will show up a menu, go to system update and install the HFW 4.88 following onscreen instructions.
After the reboot then just follow the instructions picking up at "Chapter 3:06 Install HEN " in the video.
