Yes I'm having trouble with getting on exploit
furever me slash bgtoolset is the new website to go to (can't type the address normally, comment gets deleted). Steps will be the same, except the "System Manager" tab will now be "Flash Memory Manager", and your console should boot straight into safe mode after the patch is applied, which is fine. Also, the website will say your FW is 4.88 instead of 4.89, which is also fine. You can proceed as normal.
If you all have a PSX-Place account be sure to show BG some love. We almost didn't get an update to his tools which would have made loading evilnat impossible. Their was a hacked version released but was untested.
I can't access the ps3xploit website. I receive the error: "The page cannot be displayed (80710101)"
Checked the website 2 days ago and saw it was released but noticed you hadn't uploaded a vid for it yet and was sad I had to use someone else's vid for help😭

What did you do to jailbreak yours ?
I use to jailbreak with e3 flashers however I just jailbreak with rebug 4.84 then take this update like this (PS3- new folder UPDATE- new folder the PS3UPDAT.PUP) on a usb then go to update storage and do it right from you’re system. Note that if you on rebug dex go to swap kernel in the rebug tool box and swap the kernel to cex and then do the update it will work to upgrade or downgrade cfw! His method is great to jailbreak without the long process of e3 flashing so I do his method first then update to anything I want after with my method!

MrMario created a video showing a workaround using a specific DNS shared by ps3xploit, haven't tried it yet. However you're gonna have to head back here since he only explains how to access the bgtoolset and not the entire process.
I've watched that video and that's not working either and this also comment specifying that's not working

Several of us are stuck on the BGToolset stage, due to the site removing that option. Furthermore when you go into 'help' there is a link to BGToolset; however after following that link the Toolset is marked 'unavailable.'

ps3xploit will not appear on my console, says page cannot be displayed. I'm running 4.89 and my console model is CECH-2501B if that makes a difference. So want to play NCAA 14 updated. Any assistance or advice would be appreciated!

Thanks for the video. I haven't checked out this topic for a year. I thought since the ps5 came out that jailbreaking the ps3 would be a lot easier. I gotta say. It still looks complicated with a lot of steps.
This tutorial is almost condescendignly simplified. If you can follow a step by step guide, there is really nothing standing in your way.

@@thedagenator2006 that requires hardware modification. Definitely not a beginner level project. I deal mainly with software mods. I definitely don't have the sodering skills for that.

"quick" and "straight to the point," yeah, he totally didn't explain basic functions of the ps3 several times throughout the video, bloating the video's runtime.

@@Ahakartune My Cecha00 has Rebug 4.84.2 firmware and Webman Mod with Cobra enabled. My disc drive is entirely region free for music CDs, DVD/Bluray movies and PS1/PS2 games. It also accepts burnt/backup discs as well.
But I think this is only possible on Rebug firmwares (last one was 4.84.2). You should definitely try though, make sure Cobra is enabled.
If it doesn't work, you'll need multiman to change region everytime you want to watch a movie from another region. Or, you do a digital backup of it.

I've occasionally had cause to pop in to your channel, Blaine, for various retro console hacks... I have to say with this video you've really got it down to a fine art... I can tell you are really conscious of leaving any gaps in your narrative... Great job. Maybe you could put up a counter or checklist during the section where you are 'cleansing' your ps3 internet browser settings so people don't get lost :P

PS3exploit does not work. Either something was flagged, or the servers are pointing somewhere else, because I tested it on my desktop computers, and it doesn't work on those computers either.
Even though my PS3 can’t use CFW (wish it could), I’m still watching this video just kinda hoping it’ll be possible some time in the future.
Just use ps3hen all ps3 consoles are able to be hacked just some more hacked then newer models
I loathe Hen though, it really limited to what can be done, and fictions are far different to any other CFW.
And I’m already running Hen, and it still is awkward with the options since they don’t really let me increase the Fan Speed.

Hi, I wanted to ask a thing....In my ps3 I've installed Hen. Now it comes out cfw 4.89 and I want to install it. Now the question is: Can I install cfw without uninstalling Hen? What should I do (sorry for my bad English)
Just for any rookie complaints, I confirm this works. I had to host the flash writer myself, although the files (as shown), worked a treat. I did not MD5 check, merely dumped the flash & used the writer, went 3.55 after than using Rog downgrader, which has to be reinstalled via recovery. Then the Rog 3.7 via recovery also, now I'm Rog 4.55.. My CPU GPU (Delidded) at 70degrades in game.. +rep

@@akistheman He's lying. It doesn't work for me either, and I also tried it on my computer. The site has been flagged by someone because Google started telling me I had to install an extension to proceed. The site no longer works, it's nothing that any of you have done.

you can
1 download the 4.89 update file from the ps3 website using a pc
2 put it in a usb file called UPDATE
3 put that file in a file called PS3
Put it in your ps3, then go to system update, update from usb

When trying to download patch file on the flash memory patch the download never begins. The screen pops up like its going to download but nothing happens. Anyone know what to do or what i may have missed?

I'm new to the CFW scene. My friend just gifted me his old PS3 running firmware 4.75 with mmCM version 4.85.01 (the "Firmware Mode" says "COBRA 8.20 compatible").
I'm interested in switching over to EVILNAT's 4.89CFW with COBRA because I've heard it's easy to run PS3 ISOs on it.
Can you explain step by step what I need to do to make this happen? If I'm at firmware 4.75 then how do I get to 4.89 so that I can install this CFW?

I had the same problem. Connect by tethering to a mobile phone if possible. Worked for me. I think ISPs are locking the site.
