Such an inspirational song - many women have felt like they are worthless in life because of their size or their looks but this song by these wonderful women ( whom I've admired for a long time ) have filled womens minds into believing that it doesnt matter how you look in life - its who you are inside - thank you the nolans - your song has done more for women that what you could ever imagine - if I could have one wish in life it would be to meet you beautiful ladies and place a kiss on all of your lips to say thank you for giving me the inspiration to feel worthful instead of worthless - god bless you xxxx

It was 1977 I was playing trombone in a bigband at The Talk of the North Club in Manchester, The Nolans were also on the bill, that's were we met. We didn't last long, I think about 12 months. It was so hard dating someone like that, on the road all the time, in rehearsals, doing sound checks, costume fittings, practicing harmonies, hairdressers, we never seemed to have time for us. Bernie always wanted me to be at their shows but I had commitments of my own with the band, there was no mobile phones back then or computors. I would sometimes drive through the night after a bigband show just to spent a very limited time with her. It was hard on both of us. I'm still in touch with Maureen and catch up with her when I'm in UK. I've been to her grave, and cried. 04/07/2013 is a sad day for me. There are lots of really nice comments on here and the girls really are very nice people, if you ever get the chance to meet them they will always talk to you and have photo's taken.
