Well it reached number one…so yeah I’d say people loved it. Caught lightning in a bottle with that record. I first heard the song in 2006, it’s been years since I heard it, and still knew every word.

Having said that, the Oscar for best original song goes to the writer of the song, not the performer. So she would not qualify for that one.
First of all, may I say that I am a very old man (almost 90 in fact), and the days are long gone when I got emotional at singers. Today however, I am sitting at my PC with unashamed tears running down my face. This is without doubt a very moving and beautiful song, But Loren Allred simply sang this epic number and that was it, she just blew it away! and made it forever HER song. What a voice. What an emotional experience, from one of the most stunningly Beautiful young ladies I have ever seen. If she does not find fame and fortune from this performance then the World has gone either tone deaf or completely crazy.
You passed so many beautiful voices from last century like Whitney, Mariah, Celine and how many others that I may missed due to my age LoL. But, would you agree that we are witnessing a birth of another the most beautiful voice of this century? I also (always) touched and cried everytime I heard this "never enough" of her playing. Very nice voice however, very self absorbed and I don't get the "emotion" she sang with. She seemed almost vengeful at not getting recognition and had the movie flopped, she wouldn't have come forward.

Loren has a voice with such wide registry from the bottom to the top. Some female singers lack the bottom where their voices get thin and just airy. Her performance is just jawdropping. Wow ❤

Amazing! It's like Celine Dion walked onto the stage and sang one of her famous ballads. Lauren's voice is that beautiful and powerful. Absolutely mind blowing!
There has never been another audition like Lauren Allred's Never Enough. She was so disrespected by the voters. Forget dog acts and magicians and puppets...Lauren is PHENOMINAL! I cry every time I hear her sing this song. She got the same disrespect in the US as well.
Never Enough really suited Loren’s voice but she tanked singing other songs. She has a good voice but it is not really versatile. Think of Adam Lambert, he is versatile. She is definitely gorgeous
Actually there are other versions of Never Enough that are as good and better ! I like Loren and love that movie but Morissette Amon of the Philippines has the strongest version of that song and has 100million views on TH-cam! David Foster just used Morissette in his concerts in the Philippines to sing that song! She has many many live versions on TH-cam check out her wish radio performance or her Foster performances a few months ago. Nothing against Loren or you but I disagree that no one’s sings it like her. I think the fact there are so many high versions of the song on TH-cam her BGT version just kinda fell flat.

I did too. I've watched several videos of her audition and can tell a few of them have her vocals remastered to sound perfect. This one sounds more natural.
These shows are opportunities for unknowns to break through; Loren was already a well-established professional singer -- even if people didn't know her name.

Bro it's sad to think how many people in that audience and even a couple of those judges had NO IDEA who Daniel Powter was or what the song was. That song is 19yrs old. Good for him still getting out there!
In 2005 the father of my four children passed away. My youngest was 10 and she had a really rough time. That Christmas we decided to go visit my mother 1500 miles away two days by car and stay for about a week. On the way there this song played every hour. And we got to the point where we didn’t even click off of it we just went ahead and sang it together. It’s a memory I will always cherish I don’t know if she feels as fondly for it as I do but I will always remember.
It is a wonderful gift if through the bad you still notice the sun is shining, that is a good thing. I am sorry that you have had many bad days I mean it. He’s such an incredible singer. I can’t remember if he was always masked or fully made-up to cover himself on that show, but I think he was. I have a really terrible memory for details, except that I know he’s a wonderful singer and that his name is Sheldon. I know his voice instantly when I hear it. I’m a singer, too, classically trained.

I love that in the movie, the actress had the same emotion and reaction from the audience but the artist gets to have that for real. She should have revealed it at the end however, that did add pressure too the audience expectations.

Never heard of the first guy until now but love his voice. Loved Loren's audition which in this particular video didn't sound remastered like some others I've watched. Haven't seen Sheldon in a long time. He looks a bit different from what I remember and his voice has matured. He sounds even more amazing now than he did when I first heard him. He definitely has the makings of a superstar. As does Loren.

Amazing! It's like Celine Dion walked onto the stage and sang one of her famous ballads. Lauren's voice is that beautiful and powerful. Absolutely mind blowing!
There has never been another audition like Lauren Allred's Never Enough. She was so disrespected by the voters. Forget dog acts and magicians and puppets...Lauren is PHENOMINAL! I cry every time I hear her sing this song. She got the same disrespect in the US as well.

Never Enough really suited Loren’s voice but she tanked singing other songs. She has a good voice but it is not really versatile. Think of Adam Lambert, he is versatile. She is definitely gorgeous

Actually there are other versions of Never Enough that are as good and better ! I like Loren and love that movie but Morissette Amon of the Philippines has the strongest version of that song and has 100million views on TH-cam! David Foster just used Morissette in his concerts in the Philippines to sing that song! She has many many live versions on TH-cam check out her wish radio performance or her Foster performances a few months ago. Nothing against Loren or you but I disagree that no one’s sings it like her. I think the fact there are so many high versions of the song on TH-cam her BGT version just kinda fell flat.

I did too. I've watched several videos of her audition and can tell a few of them have her vocals remastered to sound perfect. This one sounds more natural.

In 2005 the father of my four children passed away. My youngest was 10 and she had a really rough time. That Christmas we decided to go visit my mother 1500 miles away two days by car and stay for about a week. On the way there this song played every hour. And we got to the point where we didn’t even click off of it we just went ahead and sang it together. It’s a memory I will always cherish I don’t know if she feels as fondly for it as I do but I will always remember.

He’s such an incredible singer. I can’t remember if he was always masked or fully made-up to cover himself on that show, but I think he was. I have a really terrible memory for details, except that I know he’s a wonderful singer and that his name is Sheldon. I know his voice instantly when I hear it. I’m a singer, too, classically trained.

I love that in the movie, the actress had the same emotion and reaction from the audience but the artist gets to have that for real. She should have revealed it at the end however, that did add pressure too the audience expectations.

Never heard of the first guy until now but love his voice. Loved Loren's audition which in this particular video didn't sound remastered like some others I've watched. Haven't seen Sheldon in a long time. He looks a bit different from what I remember and his voice has matured. He sounds even more amazing now than he did when I first heard him. He definitely has the makings of a superstar. As does Loren.
