This is not just a superstar singing her rendition of another superstar 's song. This is a friend giving a priceless gift to another friend...and that's even more valuable. ❤
Annie Lennox has a genius IQ and the voice of a Siren. I would shipwreck myself to see her in concert again. Wrapped in what looked like leopard skin, feral and fearless, she tore the roof off the Orpheum. She's right up there with Paul Rodgers and Freddie, a rock goddess, born from original sin. She redeems us every time she sings a note. I hope she lives forever.
Annie was almost overwhelmed with emotion so she wasn't in full control of her voice. She took big pressure to perform for Sting and the king and the rest.

Yep, you can tell that they were very close friends. I like how they appreciate each other's music. It's not tit-for-tat, who's more famous than the other person, it's just a mutual respect and I love that.
Holy f*****g shit. She just came out of nowhere, sat by the piano, played it like Chopin while singing one of the most touching songs in history with such a deeply sad and emotional voice, absolutely nailing it, making Sting cry, just minutes after he said "WOW" when she entered the stage - this just has to be the definition of pure art. Annie You ROCK!!!
I love how she's like " i tried" in the end! she's a very popular artist herself and still she's so modest and still looks up to other artists! i love her so much!
She's aware of age, her voice is not the same as it once was. This song was so personal for her. Her performance wasn't perfect but in the end it was. How fragile we are.
@@djmips This is so true. The imperfections in Annie's delivery make the message of the song so much more emotionally resonant. Rather like watching Elton John sing 'England's Rose' at Diana's funeral.

I couldn't agree more that Annie Lennox has made this version her own. Very emotional and moving. Takes the song and lyrics up a level of immersiveness and imagination.
I don’t get it - I’m not drawn to her in the same way I’m drawn to most of the music I like to listen to, but now and then I have to listen to her - and when I do, it hurts.

Wow wish I'd seen and heard that, must of been an out of this world experience 😮
I can't imagine the Palace of Auburn Hills is gone? We saw so many concerts and basketball games there. I lived only a half hour north. Did they tear it down or did they make it into some type of office space? Man that was crazy that they closed that arena barely 40 years Into its existence.
I guess the Little Caesars Arena had something to do with it. They probably saw what was coming and there's no way without the Pistons that they were going to keep that place operating
It is gone!
Wow, I´m just crying out on a saturday night. What an emotional performance! Really really great job Annie, thank you.

He stood out of respect for Annie, but his face tells you everything you need to know about what he thought of that performance.
