      I’m very happy with my Aqua Terra, it is such a good watch for any occasion! Back when I was deciding on my first luxury watch between Rolex, Grand Seiko, and Omega, there was no other watch that I got to see in person that caught my attention the way this one did

    • @peterlorimer3552

      @@nshdwatches9352 Thanks for the reply to my comment. Yes, of course, I've looked at various watches many of them from Rolex and some from Grand Seiko along with several others.
      I've more or less ruled Rolex out of the watch buying equation. Not because I dislike the watches themselves but because of the stupid prices many non watch loving people are asking for them. I imagine looking down at my wrist at something like one of the recently released colourful Rolex OPs and know that if I'd paid say 11 grand for a 5 grand watch ( which is the sort of price these cretins are asking for those watches) well I wouldn't be thinking what a remarkably clever boy I'd been. No I'd be thinking what a bloody idiot I am I've deliberately robbed myself of 5 or 6 grand and probably get round the doctors ASAP to have him put me on happy pills or something. No matter how pretty or otherwise the watch was I'd hate the sight of it Lol.. As for Grand Seiko? Yes, extremely well finished watches, some of them reasonably priced. But then I think of the 6 month sans Grand Seiko watch hiatus I'd have to endure when it needs servicing and God alone knows what kinds of emotional turmoil I'd have to endure should anything go wrong with it lol...
      No, I think something like an Omega makes a great deal more sense to me so I'll keep on looking for the moment. After all isn't it the search that makes up most of the enjoyment this mad hobby affords us all.
      On that note I'll say thanks again for the reply and bye for now. Take care bruv toodle Pip!

    • @nshdwatches9352

      @@nshdwatches9352 No problem about the reply being a tad late bruv. It makes a pleasant change chatting with a fellow watch enthusiast. If that's what they call us these days lol.
      Whatever, I've noticed over the last ten years or so that this hobby has really taken off right across the globe actually. I think Instagram has quite an influence it certainly seems to be one of the many drivers that have pushed up the prices of many watches.
      I'm not sure I totally like the way that money has seem to somewhat taken over the hobby.
      A lot of the newer people don't come across to me as true watch lovers most of them seem to have more mercenary considerations at heart over and above the basic joy of collecting watches. But then that's just my humble opinion. Anyway again thanks for the chat I'll let you get on with your business.. Bye bye for now mate. Take care.

      NSHD Watches,
      I’ve been wearing my Seiko SARB035 every day, for more than four years. Once one finds the right watch, that is versatile enough for his purposes, there’s no point in buying another, in my humble opinion. I also believe in regular servicing of the watch at sensible intervals. I’ll check out your next video.

    • @nshdwatches9352
      @nshdwatches9352  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the Sinn is what you want then I would go for it! Unless there's a specific Omega model you're in love with, then I would get the watch you currently desire. I love my Seiko SKX just as much as my Aqua Terra, here lately they've both been getting about the same amount of wrist time. Just because one costs more and is of higher quality it doesn't mean you won't get just as much joy out of something that costs less.
      I live in the Chattanooga area, so we don't really have a ton of luxury watch ADs around here. Just one Rolex AD that hardly ever has anything, though they recently added Tudor watches which is awesome! I love to go to Nashville or Atlanta to check out a bunch of nice watches when I have the chance :)

    Great video, really hard to find content on this version of the AT! I'm deciding whether I like this or the Rolex OP34 more. Tbh I prefer this, but I'm worried at how large it wears. I'd say my SARB033 is the perfect size, so was wondering whether the AT 38mm wears larger or smaller than a Sarb?

    • @nshdwatches9352
      @nshdwatches9352  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I've found that they wear pretty similar! Even though the measurements are 38.5 (or something like that) for the AT, it has a really nice feel on the wrist. Also depending on how your wrist curves the AT will sit pretty flat on your wrist giving it a really nice and thin look. My wrist is 18cm and I've found that 38mm watches fit the best for me, so both the SARB and the AT 38mm fit super nice!

    Thank you for this video, I was considering to buy the same watch, but with leather strap version. I really like that white dial with those dark gray indexes. Still, I have a question did the daily pace of the watch change itself over couple of weeks from -1 s/d to gaining some seconds per day? According to the Omega Master Chronometer certification, the watch should run between 0 to 5 s/d on average, while it is allowed exceptionally that during one day it may loose a second (in case of extreme wearing conditions).

    • @nshdwatches9352
      @nshdwatches9352  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad I could help! I just recently (today) bought and received the rubber strap for this watch. I love it! Now I need to buy a leather strap for it as well haha.
      To answer your question. My watch still runs slow. It's no longer -1 though, it seems to be better than that now. I haven't timed it or anything recently, but I adjust it once every 2 weeks and lately it's only been behind about -9 seconds from when I sync it. It's been performing really well, so I don't mind it at all. Next time I'm around an Omega boutique I'll ask about it running slow, but so far I prefer it to running fast

    • @Zeeraha
      @Zeeraha 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am also a person to whom is unnacceptable that any kind of watch is running late on daily basis. I have several vintage mechanical watches with quite good movements, and I pushed my local watch repairers that they regulate the movement never to lose time on average and never to gain more than 8 s/d. As for your Omega AT model, actually it cannot be simply regulated like other standard movements, and the local official service will have to do the modification of the complete balance assembly. I expect that the results could be that watch gains 4 s/d, which was reported by couple of my friends who own Omega models with the same movement. Result of the movement servicing is based on luck, but the pace must be inside of 0 to +5 s/d, and never outside of that range range.
      I tried different models including Aqua Terra variants at Omega boutique, and I really liked exactly this white dial model variant which proved to have really refreshing looks and also being versatile for the strap exchange. It looks really good with different kind of straps and bracelets, which I really like. I like that it looks good with a NATO strap which is quite convenient for my boat trips and fishing on the sea, where watch is well secured on the wrist, and also looks quite nice on the wrist in case I go visit around different local small ports.

    • @nshdwatches9352
      @nshdwatches9352  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll likely ask about it next time I'm near an Omega boutique, but for now I'm quite satisfied with the timekeeping.
      I now have the OEM rubber strap and Bracelet, so I'll likely be looking for a nice leather strap to pair it with when I want a more formal look. It is indeed very versatile and I love that about it! I haven't tested many color options that would compliment the dial for a leather strap, so I'm gonna do that with a few cheaper straps before I buy a high quality leather for it

      I do believe that both movements are very similar besides the hour jump feature. That is only for the larger 8900 movement. It's one thing we give up with having the smaller 38mm version of the watch. Personally, I don't really care for the hour jump feature so it's not that big a deal to me. Honestly I don't mind it too much. I started thinking of whether I would prefer my watch to be running fast or running slow. As long as it stays at -1 second per day it should be fine 🙂

      I guess it all depends on your wrist size. 38mm watches are perfect for me! I do have a 36mm Smiths that I quite enjoy too though :)

  • @ramspencer5492
    @ramspencer5492 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    38mm is definitely the right size for this design.... Unless you have a very large wrist. 41mm is just too much dial to look classy on this style watch for most people. Congrats!

    • @nshdwatches9352
      @nshdwatches9352  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      38mm is the sweet spot for me, but I have definitely met people who could not rock anything under 42mm, it's crazy hahah

      @@nshdwatches9352 I think it's mostly psychological! Men's dress watches used to be 36mm or smaller regardless of wrist size! I've seen channels where big wrist guys wear Cartier tanks and love em..... Sure with a diver 42mm can be a good size on 7.5" wrists and above.... But smaller can look really good as well...
      I personally think this much dial on that style of watch looks really strange... Unless people's wrist are like 8 inches or larger....

      Yeah I wish it would've been possible to use the same movement. I personally don't travel through timezones often so I don't really miss it or need it, but I can see how some people would really like that feature

    1 second slow of really good.... Just set it 7 seconds once a week. It's really nothing. Either way it is going to creep a little..... Unless you say it everyday. It's really good for any automatic watch. It's 1 second a day actually better? If you set it every week.... Your just reversing which part of the week is a few seconds fast. Even if you try have it adjusted it could easily get worse.... Instead of better.

    Damn. It would be perfect without the date window, messes with the symmetry, that's why I opted for the white Rolex OP 39. Still, it is a nice piece.

      You take it back! The Omega Aqua Terra give the Rolex OP a run for its money, and... the date window does not at all mess with the symmetry of the dial.
