I bought exactly this watch on the rubber strap at the end of November 2021. I can only agree with the reviewer. It is fantastic. Beautifully finished. A stunning accurate movement... For example I set mine to digital clock on 2/12/21. Today is 5/1/22. So 34 days later this 8900 coaxial is running at +2 seconds... BUT not a day. It's currently +2 in 34 days!! That's Grand Seiko spring drive level in this pure mechanical watch. All I do is occasionally alternate the resting position overnight. Dial or crown up runs a little faster. Crown down slows it a bit. 12 hours on wrist runs more or less neutral... V impressive. It's also super comfortable on the wrist and looks amazing. I got it at a 15% discount from an AD paying exactly £4000 in the UK. Delivered Fully stickered direct etc from Omega in 7 days in a lovely box. I really can't fault it. I do also like Rolex, GS, AP etc. But with these look, the great price, the accuracy and yes you can buy one without the Rolex BS waiting.... Hard to find anything compatible in the price range and a lot more. Cheers.
I bought this exact watch a few months ago but on the bracelet and I truly love this piece! A perfect every day piece. Elegant shape with sporty colors, super legible in any light condition, super accurate (less than one second per day) and super comfortable. I think I will never sell this beauty 🧡
Went to the store and this one in that colour really stood out. I know the dial is inspired by decks on sailboats according to omega, but this exact colour combination with those rugged and raised silver hour markers truly brings out that boat docks and tools vibe. The other colours not so much, they just looked like a watch.
I have the chrome (grey) dial AT with blue handset and indices. It’s is an incredible watch. The colours and finish are stunning. The ‘twisted’ lugs and case finishing are pure class. The display back and 8900 movement are exceptional. I have both the bracelet (which looks very dressy) and the blue rubber strap (very sporty and comfortable). The lume is great and very nice colour. The perfect all round timepiece. I had intended to buy an Explorer but this won me over.
I got the same watch ! Got mine in 2018. This year 2024, the watch did have issues. Started stopping and starting. After an $800 service it was working again. It’s my daily watch. Love the look and versatility. Since the service , time keeping greatly improved. Would say I have to adjust time about every 6 to 8 weeks
@@Lagerfanny-g7e Sure, but that's the requirement simply to leave the factory. Once it does, all bets are off. I'm feeling pretty cynical on the romance of Swiss precision engineering. I had my Omega completely stop working and then just this week, my pride and joy, a 4 year old (purchased new) Rolex Day Date 40 totally failed as well .Thankfully under warranty. Too much a coincidence, both Rolex and Omega are giants in high end watch making. I have an Apple Watch that's 7 years old. Battery still fine, I haven't had to repair that at all yet. The idea of Rolex and Omega as tanks that will run forever I think is fantasy these days.
Wow think I have just fallen in love with this watch even more. I truly share your thoughts on it, I did try the blue but this model wins hands down now. 🥰
I couldn't agree with you more on this video. I own the grey steel "chrome" version with the blue indices and I've had it now for about three months. First off, I can't stop staring at it when I'm wearing it. The way the indices and the dial play with the light is amazing. That thing goes from dull grey to shiny bling in the blink of an eye. Also, I have ZERO desire to swap straps in and out. The blue rubber provides perfect contrast with the dial and is oh, so comfortable. It's an amazing every day wearer.
I just bought the slate 41 mm with the rubber strap. I love it!!! Rather than purchase the difficult to adjust metal band, I’ve opted to get a Uncle Seiko 1035, 20 mm. It fits perfectly, and is easy to adjust for much fewer $$. The US band is almost identical to the OLD SMP band from the 1970’s. Cool!
Glad to hear you like the AT so much! I remember trying on a PO on the similar black rubber strap with orange stitching and was blown away how comfortable it was. Wear it in good health Rob.
I absolutely love it, there's just something special about that dial that just works and doesn't look too flashy. My only gripe is that the fold over clasp looks a bit bulky and not streamlined as it could be.
I ordered my Railmaster from Exquisite Time and mentioned you Rob. They ordered it for me from OMEGA. Nick told me OMEGA has the OEM packaging fixed now. All watches are being shipped with the box at the same time. I could have ordered for less from grey market, but with the winder and strap + full five year warranty I'm happy with my choice.
Just got this for my 40th. I was struggling to decide between this and the SM 300m white dial but went for the AT as I love the pop of orange which is my fave colour. I am so happy with my decision.
It's a lovely watch, definitely a great daily. For me, as I don't use a watch winder my best daily watch is the one that's still ticking when I wake up to go to work in the morning!! Though I must admit that going to work now, is an arduous trip from the bedroom to the study, or when the weather is good, the roof terrace! Excellent video.
Had it, sold it. Beautiful piece but the bracelet was disappointing. Got a white dial Planet Ocean instead. Anyway the AT looks great on the rubbuer strap. I wish I had given it a go.
It's an awesome piece. Congrats!! It's also interesting how you say it's perfect for a daily. I feel the same about my Sinn 104 white dial. Something about those white dials I guess.
Really love this watch Rob. I was apprehensive due to the high polish bezel so I went with a Speedy racer in the white dial as it has a black ceramic bezel. LOVE the jumping hour/date change characteristic of these! Great watch and video as usual!
Couldn't agree more about the versatility of this one. The only thing that would worry me a bit for daily wear is the multitude of polished surfaces. I'd probably be worried about the bezel and especially the bracelet all the time. But yeah: This (in the 002-colorway) is definitely one of my grails. Great purchase!
I have one of these in the black dial, and I had many issues with the movement. I had to send it in for warranty service a few times to get it fully fixed. I got a great deal, but it definitely left a sour taste that it came out of the factory with so many issues. For reference, the crown didn’t screw down, the watch wouldn’t hand wind, and the accuracy was way out of sync. It then came back with marred screws and oil on the barrel and I had to send it in again to get these fixed.
Random Rob I bought grey for around 2k off retail, and I was luckily able to use the warranty it came with. It wasn’t a perfect situation but the deal was killer.
I have this exact model. Love it, but super bummed I’ve already had to send it back to Omega for a complete warranty service. Owned for less than a year (purchased in September of 2022) and sent back on June 1st of 2023 as it started losing about 3 seconds a day after running at +3 a day since purchase. And it will take 3 months to get it back. So I don’t have my summer watch for the first summer I actually own it. Hope yours has been running better!!
I have been eyeing the blue the greyer blue and the silver with blue indices and the grey blue small seconds. They look awesome in pictures but after trying them on something didn’t click. I didn’t ask to try this one on but I think it’s the one. Next trip I’m going to try it on and I’ll most likely take it!
This is currently my "grail" watch. I absolutely love this watch. But to be honest, the price is a bit hard to justify right now. I'll probably end up getting the white dial Aquaracer which is also super nice and a lot more accessible.
Thanks for this presentation video. Since I am interrsted in the same model, what I would like to see if it has quircks with the minute and second hand when the movement is hacked and resume, similar as we saw on new Oris Aquis. Second, I am quite currios is the date change instant jump or it changes slowly e.g. date wheel starts moving slowly from 10:30, then makes a small jumo at midnight.
You don't need to keep going all the way around the dial to advance the date wheel...when you're changing the date and you have a long way to go, turn the hands until the date changes, then go back past 9 and you'll hear a click...then the next time you go to midnight it changes again...back to 9, back to 12. If you go too far, send the hour hand backward to 6 and it will lose a day.
Man I love this watch. The only reason I haven't picked one up is because I already own the blue dialed version with the vertical teaking on a bracelet. Even then I am crazy tempted to pick this up on the rubber. I want a white dialed every day watch and this is the best on the market under $8K-10K. I've grown to love my blue dial more each year since I picked it up in 2016.
I’m between this and the seamaster 300m. I feel like the shiny case could use more brushed finish for contrast. I do love the orange and the rubber bracelet in person is great.
I love mine, but after a bit less than 2 years the hour hand wheel had to go in for service. Yeah, the jump hour hand is cool, but if you use it a lot like I was it takes a beating and will end up needing a service. After my experience, I think I would just prefer the quick set date.
That’s how I feel! Actually about most watches on the market now days. Although it definitely is finally trending back in the direction of more modestly sized watches
@@SaSpursFan We are on the same page. I totally forgot to specify that I meant I wished it was smaller rather than larger. Yeah us that prefer the smaller sizes will have more and more options as well no doubt.
@@adfadfg Much appreciated. They are somewhat "hidden" on the Omega website but I found them as well by clicking the right facing arrow button on the collection page.
Great overview. I'm not in the market for a luxury watch, but this is good to see anyway. I'm on board with your assessment with it being a perfect do-anything watch. If it was 2 or 3 mm smaller (for my 6.5" wrist), yeah, I might be checking prices on the kidney market to make it happen. If I was going to drop this much on a watch, I'd want it to be very close to everything I want, including very dialed in on my favorite size. That said, even if I stepped up to this tier of watches, I'd keep some slack in my expectations. If not, I might set expectations that nothing could fulfill, and that's no fun. Love the indices, horizontal lines on the dial, the orange seconds hand, and the lyre lugs a ton. Grats on the great watch!
Marvin, yes there is a version “2 or 3 mm smaller”! Omega makes a 38 mm (vs 41 mm) version of the same watch, albeit without the orange accents. Great watch, with the same quality, accuracy and features.
Hi, where can i get this grey rubber strap with the nice orange stitching to replace the metal one? Can‘t find it @ Omega site or somewhere else. 😢 Thx so much
I just got the green Omega AT. Having a really hard time getting wrist time for my Seamaster 300M and my GS Snowflake right now. The AT is practically the perfect watch.
Great video, looks fantastic. I’m so close to pulling the trigger, but most reviewers I’ve seen end up selling it. Any particular reason why you sold it? Just get boring sorta? Between this and the white SMP 300m. Thanks.
I've got the AT in titanium. 38,5mm, white dial, blue hands. I've been wearing it for about two months. The shiny middle links get scratched just from looking at them. 😓 The bezel looks pretty good because it's protected by the domed crystal. There are two things I don't like: 1. The bracelet. 2. the lume.
After seeing that awesome watch I'm seriously thinking about selling my 1970's Seamaster 600 ploprof for one of these. I'm in Australia and those Aqua Terras are eight and a half grand. I really need to stop watching videos of new Omegas. Beautiful watch man.
@@RandomRobReviews Thank you very much, I’ve been on the fence about this watch over the clasp and now I’m going to move ahead with it with the band instead. Congratulations on your watch😊
Congrats on the new watch Rob, it's a beauty. I'm not a fan of AR coating on the outside. It kind of defeats the purpose of the scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The clarity gained isn't worth the risk of the marks that will eventually show up on the surface no matter how careful someone is. It has been the one sticking point with the Railmaster. If not for that it would otherwise be a perfect watch for me with the all brushed finish.
Goodnight. I want to buy an Aquaterra, but I have doubts about the sphere. I wanted to ask you about which of the two dials ( black vs white ) is more readable. Thank you
Does this feel big compared to the 300M? I know it is technically smaller but the dial seems a lot larger. I am currently trying to decide between this one and the great white 300M that you have.
Thanks for great review of exact watch I’ve been looking at. You drove me over the edge. I got the 41mm, silver dial, rubber bracelet. I contacted Nick at Exquisite. He offered me a great deal. He had to order it and called that it was in three days later. He overnighted it to me and I can’t seem to take it off my wrist. What a great watch. Keep up the great video reviews. Do you know of a great after market leather strap compatible with this clasp? Do you or any of your followers know of the shorter 20mm oem rubber strap for the deployant clasp? With my skinny wrist, it would suit me better on the shorter strap. I'm trying to avoid the steep price of a brand new one from Omega.
To Rob (or anyone else), if I snag one of these and decide later that I would like to have the bracelet available to me as an option as well, what avenues are available to me to acquire one (AD, forums, etc.)? Or am I better off just getting the version on the bracelet and getting the strap later. Not as much concerned about value for money as I am just having the bracelet available to purchase on it's own. Quick scan of Omega's website, couldn't find an indication of being able to buy the bracelet on it's own.
Great video!! I’m looking at all the review videos I can find about this watch because I’m seriously considering buying one. I love the grey dial with the blue hands. You reviewed this watch 11 months ago. I’d be very interested in hearing your thoughts about this watch after having owned it for almost a year. Does it live up to your initial glowing assessment?

2. the lume.
I really want the 38mm ...wish they had it in this dial configuration
Beautiful. I picked one up for the orange accents. You should pick up the NATO!
Congrats on a sweet watch!
Fantastic!!!!
I hope the suggestion that Omega took notes from Seiko for their indices was just a throwaway joke.
After seeing that awesome watch I'm seriously thinking about selling my 1970's Seamaster 600 ploprof for one of these. I'm in Australia and those Aqua Terras are eight and a half grand. I really need to stop watching videos of new Omegas. Beautiful watch man.
Hey Rob, did you like it on bracelet? Thanks!
Didn’t even try, not fan of clasp
Aqua Terra is my next watch
They're very different watches!!
I have both of those watches and the AT feels smaller on wrist.
@@jimlittle5769 thanks!
Marvelous video and watch...
If you are a bracelet guy get it on metal, score strap later. If doing AD purchase, talk about all that and see if strap can be part of deal.
41 mm seems big with no bezel, but the 38 mm seems a bit small
I have a 6.75" wrist and I can pull the 41mm off just fine because it's only about 48mm lug to lug.
Out of curiosity - do you still have this watch?
There's a Bliger homage of this with more orange...heh
Nice but i think Globemaster is a better daily with it's super hard bezel.
Love this one Rob! 🧡
Really nice watch
Apparently that bracelet fits the seamaster as well
Looking for an everyday white dial watch, similar to the Rolex Op but can’t find one. Closest thing is the aqua terra or the GS snowflake
