So exciting to see this. I just bought a 1984 310 earlier this year and am slowly working through. Had not been able to get all my compartments open so exciting to see what's in there. Keep posting please!
Cynthia H I went underneath and pressure washed my rollar bearings, the cleaned them using WD40, sliding them back and forth numerous times, and then oiled them.
A very nice video. My Airstream 310 is currently being shipped to Germany and this video shows the details of the vehicle very nicely. Thanks a lot for this!
the Wild's Life No, due to COVID-19, I couldn't see it before. My friend also has an Airstream 280 or 290 and I thought it was so great that we looked for one in the USA. I then only saw six pictures and bought it. It's a 310 1981 turbodiesel with only 29,009 miles. The front tires are still the first with a production date of 48th week 1981. A stroke of luck! In your video I was able to see what an RV looks like for the first time. That made the long waiting time sweeter. I had it picked up in Georgia and then it went to Germany, taking the ship with me. I tried to go home here, but only got 10 miles. The brake was tight and the driver was short. Now the restoration has started and we are currently removing everything inside. Thanks to your video, I have a few ideas for the conversion. for example, I will recreate the hidden television. The sofa bed will be wider because I have three sons. I will also build the back bed as you show in the video.
Definitely a GREAT investment for the future these are getting super rare!... lf you get one do the whole hundred yards in restoration ... Engine Wire harness... Everything will need updating at this point ....
My wife just got a 89, 1 owner...custom made 32' 345. This is immaculate...needs new batteries..probably tires..(8 of them)...THATS gonna hurt...the canopy is perfect...gotta love the gold interior...lol
Thats is a lovely lovely van! i bet it turns heads where you are, if you drove it here in the uk peoples heads would fly off let alone turn !! great video thanks so much
I love these old Airstream motorhomes, like the 1977 Argosy before this and the rest of the 300 Series from the 1980s. They are not a great investment for restoration. It really is a labor of love for the aesthetics and history that is Airstream. I hope you get many years of happy memories from this camper. It really is a work of art.
It’s just beautiful, sooo cool. Keep them videos coming. These newbies need assistance 😂We have flying cloud with a few videos on our channel. We’re subscribing for future adventures!
We have an ‘83 we are currently working on, looks almost identical except for the dash. Was the sofa hard to replace with that bed? It looks like a good idea. We have the two twin beds in the back, might replace those with one large bed as well. Not sure yet!
Yes, we replaced the gouache couch with a bed. It was way better. We also had twin bed in the back and I put in the queen size bed with the Tempurpedic bed lift.
Hello Thanks from France forme this short tour of tour beautiful Airstream. We recently bought one in UK and still in lack of informations about this new vehicule in our garage.... It is a 280 with diesel engine more usable in France I think about new questions and details i would like to know, i would prefer directly by mail Regards
Ok so I found your video after looking at an 83 Airbus for sale. (Didn't get to see inside though,) so I wondered if it had a Anytime in it. I know some of them did but wasn't sure about the 83. I noticed you didn't mention your even though it was clearly in the video. Do you use it? I aspire to being in a house/RV that has one lol
That is a beautiful RV! Very nice and informative video so thank you for that. We love it and we are prepared to buy! Please tell us you will sell this this fine piece of American machinery??🙂
Veronica Castro She handles very well. We have put 19000 miles on over two years. Steep hills, we drove from Salt Lake City up to Alta Ski Resort in a blizzard. No issues. 9 miles to the gallon, great mileage for a house.
@@theWildsLife Only 9 Miles per gallon sounds extremely low,do the newer comparable Airstream models give a more economical MPG,or are there electric ones nowadays too?
Beautiful! Now *that's* an Airstream! With its round and curvy look, it actually looks like what I call a *"proper"* Airstream. I see it has Washington state license plates. Whereabouts in Washington state is this?
@@Michael_Wild Assuming you still have this Airstream, have you taken it on any road trips since this video was posted? What's it like to drive, to ride in, and to live in? 🙂
But, once they are running well, they are very reliable. The problem is people let these units sit for year's without using them. No maintenance was done and then they would be driven and mechanical items would deteriorate quickly.
@@theWildsLife I think spending 30k for something that will be full time lived in is a good deal. I'm also looking to export such an amazing motorhome to europe. What was the rough breakdown of the 30k you spent keeping it going between P30 stuff, motor stuff and leasure stuff?
I just watched this video awesome motor home but please please STOP using that propane heat indoors you are killing yourselves with carbon monoxide poisoning when you use it inside
Absolutely incredibly amazingly awsome!
well done! thank you for taking the time. Great reno
Thanks for the tour. What a great video.
Thanks. There will be more coming this summer.
Bonjour il est vraiment très bien ce Motorhome
Merci beaucoup
Nice unit. Lots of effort and love went into it.
Thanks!
Epic RV!
Wonderful Airstream, wish I had one. They remind me of a space shop.

Cynthia H Welcome to the club. Which compartments?
@@theWildsLife I was unable to get open both compartments with the hidden and locked area but now open.

Markus, check out our 1978 Airstream Sovereign trailer at www.AirstreamMoHo.com You will find some great interior ideas there.
That Spotlight is pretty cool I would install a camera inside that thing
That is an awesome idea.
Would a spotlight be a good idea on a trailer?

As a kid we had our vacations in my dad's Airstream. It was the late 60s. What model was that, do you know? Thanks! BTW, yours is awesome!

Thanks for your comment, we actually sold her in the summer of 2020 to a fine family in Portland.
I have an all original 1981 28’ available.

We had it licensed in Washington, where we bought it, but it has been everywhere on the west side.
@@theWildsLife Ahhh! Okay. Nice. I'm from Washington state. Gig Harbor to be exact.
We bought it in Kenmore, WA, north east of Seattle.

Yes, we need to get editing. We have hours of footage recorded.
I keep hearing these Airstream motorhomes are maintenance nightmares. Do you find that to be true?
Yes. But they are worth it.
We have spent over $30,000 on mechanical.
