You’ll be lucky if it lasts a week. And when it breaks Asus absolutely won’t fix it and will blame the customer. Happy they are getting investigated.🙂

The shear amount of horror stories are a strong indication that there is a series problem. Besides, Asus has a long history of poor customer service stretching back beyond the handhelds. They are a trash company.

Don't understand why they thought it was okay to release this without smaller bezels and an OLED screen. Also, Asus can suck it.
Because they made this to fix what the version 1 lacked. They flat out said they wouldn't be making big changes as it's not meant to be a ally v2...but a ally v1.5. Their warranty is still cancerous though.
Then you won’t be able to use VRR
So many people are saying the upgrade is not worth it. But lets see i will try to make my current 700$ ally match the new 800$ ally x. I will have to double the battery so i will have to buy a 70$ power bank. I will have to buy 4gb of DDR5 ram 8gb costs 40$ so 20$ (i know i camt add ram to rhe curre t ally) then i will have to buy a MP600 1tb ssd for 140$ total 900$
Conclusion
The ally x is not worth the upgrade but it is worth it for a person who does not already own an ally.

The switch can run games at a stable 30 fps I find it quite reasonable but the main reason the switch has millions of sales is because of the exclusives

It improves a lot of the original and fixed most of the problems, so it is worth it if you don’t have an ally.

Better, no. Affordable, yes. Steam OS runs Linux. Out of my 372 plus games about 70 are "deck verified" Steam OS also lacks anti cheat support making most games unplayable online, Steam OS struggles to run other launchers and even if you do get them to run you have to make major modifications to the games to allow them to use Proton compatibility layer as native DX12 support is null on Steam OS. ROG Ally X has more VRAM/RAM with a much newer and more powerful Zen 4 Ryzen APU. SteamDeck is great! But not better than the Ally.
The rog allay is stronger but the steam deck has more back buttons and windows on a handheld is bad I just like the steam deck more

Well why I think the steam decks better in my opinion is that it’s cheaper still close to its power has better battery life better at emulation has more back buttons.
I perfume it than an asus rog ally also asus does scam when repairing it with them.

Better performance
Better screen 800p no VRR vs 1080p VRR
Mor games only steam vs literally all platforms on windows
Better speakers no dolby atmos vs dolby atmos
Mor ram 16gb vs 24gb
Mor storage 512gb vs 1tb

The steam deck cant even play all steam games. If it has easy anti cheat it wont play on steam deck.
@@ThatAnnoyingGuy96 No OLDED screen, no controller friendly SteamOS, no warranty. Using Windows on a handheld is like trying to ice skate uphill.

@walter_the_wobot2349 ill take VRR 120Hz 1080p over 800p OLED no VRR any day. 372 steam games all run on my Ally and i could barely get 60 of my verified deck games to run on the deck. When i bought the ally i sold the steamdeck and have 0 regrets. Steamdeck is not better objectively in any sense. But i respect your opinion and you should also respect the Allys 😊
@@walter_the_wobot2349no VRR, Windows with Bluetooth works fine for controllers, and with windows, it’s not that hard to use on a handheld and you have much more freedom on what you can do and play compared to Linux. Warranty I’ll admit is ass
