Yes, it was his style, especially in his early years. Joe was one of the greats!!!

Joe had a style all of his own, but just before the song, he got contorted because he was possessed by the universal spirit of rock, and SOUL !!!! And yes, you are right about us growing up in this time, a renaissance of musical art that is unlikely to ever be repeated.

You call that playing air guitar.
Joe felt and expressed the music with every inch of his being.

I see how you can think he's not okay by the way he dances and rocks out, but yes, it's just his way of having a good time :)

There were some great performances at Woodstock but I can only describe Joe’s as colossal. One of the best ever witnessed.

A lot of people, upon seeing Joe for the first time, think there might be something wrong..Nope, there was nothing wrong with Joe. That's just how he rolled..His fans wouldn't have had it any other way...Absolutely brilliant!

Lol! His style... he was one of a kind, for sure! An icon. You could always tell when it’s Joe by his unique movements. He was that way, as he says it, because he couldn’t play an instrument so he played them with his whole body.

Joe's movements is how he tracks every note being played. Another iconic performance is Soul Sacrifice by Santana. Their first album was a week away from release but Woodstock made them stars without it being released. 400,000 people were at Woodstock!

    Very beautiful song 🎵

You know the expression "dance like no one can see you"? - Do what feels right, not bothering if you look silly. Joe Cocker took that to a new level. He just felt the music and let it carry him. And it became beautiful! He didn't win any dancing competitions, but everyone's hearts.
That day he took that wonderful Beatles song and made it better. It's his now.

Joe Cocker and his Grease Band were wild. If you liked that, then you'll love this. The same weekend, at the same festival was another WILD act. "Santana at woodstock".

Song from WoodStock film. You would enjoy. Janis Joplin was also intense, like Joe Cocker.

Joe is an artist who has done many Beatles covers and covers of the various Beatles' own solo songs and he has always done it damn well .... misses him musically very much.

His style was so strange that Saturday Day Night Live did a parody of this. But there’s no denying Joe Cocker can sing his heart out.

Great reaction, epic is the word, this is a Beatles song. There is an even better performance of this number with Joe and Mad Dogs and Englishmen live at the Metropol.

I mean…it was Woodstock. I’d chalk that craziness up to acid for the most part.😂😂

This is actually a Beatles song, but Joe gives it his own unique interpretation. If you're going to check out the Woodstock concert, I highly recommend reacting to Santana's "Soul Sacrifice" live at Woodstock, 1969.

    • @sjd5750
      @sjd5750 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Soul Sacrifice, YES!..But please, Dear Lord, the 9:39 one (the 1970 film version)..The others cut way too much out of that performance..Should be a law against it..Also, as amazing as the performance was, I honestly think the one a year after at Tanglewood is even better. Which is really saying something.

Also if ya dig and enjoyed this video which was cool and I still am a long haired after all these years though with a changed heart and peace in the heart and you can also 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on TH-cam. 😀

Liked this one? Then you're gonna need tissues and refreshments to watch these two: You Can Leave Your Hat On and You Are So Beautiful (both live performance). Joe Cocker. Janis Joplin. and Robert Plant are the greatest blues/ rock singers from that- and I say any- era. When Joe came to America (from Sheffield England) he loved blues and the Black "girl groups" (Supremes, Marvelettes, Angels. Martha and the Vandellas). He immediately hired three Black ladies to sing back-up... but Woodstock was so crowded and roads choked, his three ladies couldn't get in- so two bandmates had to sing falsetto here.

Thank you for your great reaction to this classic Joe Cocker performance from Woodstock! Joe totally felt the music when he performed and he put all of himself into every song, just like you put so much into all of your reactions!! In fact, I believe yours is the best reaction to this I have ever seen! A couple of tidbits for you - this is the cover of a song by The Beatles, and it is the best cover of one of their songs I have ever heard. Also, there were huge logistics problems with Woodstock, and from what I understand his back up female singers were not able to make it to the show so his guys had to sing their part falsetto, which they did a great job on! A couple more great live performances you may wish to check out are: "Love Of My Life" by Queen at Wembley Stadium 1986 and "Helpless" by Neil Young from Live Aid 1985! Keep up the great work on our - I mean your channel!!!

Well he was on a LOT of drugs at the time! But if you look close he is playing air guitar, piano and drums. He is literally playing the whole song inside his head 😭 it's great.

Somebody may think, that the guis singing in the Coire, sounds a little bit artificial.Normaly Joe C. had 3 women in the choire. They were late because they were stuck in the trafic.Joe Cocker always sing his songs as it was the last song he sang. All in everytime, and I love it.
