Glad you like him, I was so lucky to see him in concert in the early 70's, in the San Francisco Bay area and it was as wild as you can imagine. The 70's where the best for music. And I must confess you are beautiful.

Hi There Sweetie. God, you were so much fun to watch this piece of music with! Thank You for that, it was wonderful. Whenever Joe Cocker performed, he always shared his Soul with the listeners as he Always gave 100% of himself as well. I was just thinking back to the time that I heard all of these songs, when they were all brand new. The 60's & 70's were a magic time for music abd I'll be the first to admit that we were absolutely Spoiled, Musically back then. Back when Musicians Wrote their own Music, Played an instrument and Sang all at the same time even! No Auto-Tune, no Drum Machines, no taking portions of other Artists music to incorporate into some bastardized piece of crap and call it their own either. Amazing, right? Analogue over Digital, every time! Can I get an Amen?

That man with the hat is Leon Russell. The 1960's music revolution would not have happened without Leon Russell. You are seeing the musical genius of a lot of people here. The song was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney from The Beatles. Leon Russel was the band leader and he put this entire band together made up of some of the best session players in the world with very little time to do it.

This is from "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" , Fillmore East 1970, a concert film/record he did with the legendary pianist/arranger/songwriter Leon Russell (The guy with the top hat). Russell put the whole show together, bringing fellow friends and great musicians together.
You should watch from the same concert Joe Cocker performing "The letter", and another Beatles cover "Something" which both are really impressive and emotional.

You can hear the same instrument in the song "A whiter Shade of Pale" by Procul Harum in the concert with Gary Brooker in the park with the Danish National Orchestra in 2009.
The Hammond was a popular keyboard instrument because the sound was exceptionally good, not least because the organ had rotating speakers (you could regulate the speed of the rotation), which produced a fabulous tremolo!

I was 18 and a friend and I walked two miles to see an R rated movie. It was changed and the movie "joe cocker mad dogs and Englishmen" was playing instead (this is from that movie and album). First impression was that he was a freak. Walked out a huge fan. Much better than whatever movie I missed

this song means a lot to me.
i have suffered from severe depression for the last 20 years and this song is like an injection of strength for me.
when the fog is getting darker and catch my mindand i run the risk of isolating myself, this song helps me to call for help and not to lose contact with the world.
So music can help and give a positive Push.
Thanks Joe for this powerfull Song

I saw this concert movie. ( documentary) there is a wonderful part outside two girls fans were outside they couldn't get tickets but travelled a long way just hope to see him and listen from outside. He said hello taked them , and had someone find them and get them backstage passes.
