    Yeah what are the pieces that I need to make the bearing so I’ll try to look for a particular axle nut piece that holds the bearing balls

    Sometimes the ball bearings come off from wheels during the run, especially If you are making turns. What do you suggest? Would the closed cup bearings fit instead of loose bearings, two rings on each wheel?

      I would assume that's what those caps are for. I do not ever have a problem with bearings falling out and I do not use any caps

    Great video. I picked up a pair of skates at Goodwill with looseball bearings for $5 a few years ago and have been sitting on them. Just about all the bearings are lost to the sands of time and were non functional. None of the local skate stores carry loose ball bearings and recommended that I buy caged bearings and sold me some red bone bearings. Unfortunately this didn't work as the cage wouldn't fit into the orginal wheels. So I bought all new wheels and popped in the bearings. None of this is compatible with the axle, as I have now learned. I will have to now order bearings and using this tutorial maybe finally get functional skates. Wish me luck.

    • @freeflydenny

      No you would need loose ball plates. They do have most loose ball wheels available. I bought those skates for 18$ on Ebay. If you were to buy all the old school nutts and bearings new they are around 80$. I plan on taking the plates off and grinding the wheels down and putting new stacy's on them next vid

    • @ceilidhmcquillan3189
      @ceilidhmcquillan3189 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Clayton Bowman so turns out loose ball axels are 7.5mm so 8mm bearings are too big and 7mm are too small, I ended up finding a pair of old skates from the 80’s and took the trucks off them and they fit perfectly on my plate from the 1960’s. So basically you’ll need new trucks that have a 7mm or 8mm axle. I heard that they make axel sleeves though and you may be able to hunt ones down that make loose ball axels into 8mm axles
