Since my adolescence I've been looking for the key to be more kind to myself and how to treat myself as best friend. Kristin Neff found it and this really changed my life for the better. I'm much more happier, outgoing, kind and compassionate towards me and others, motivated to tackle challenges I've always been afraid of and even quit smoking and other unhealthy behaviors. I'll always be thankful for this!

Well done Dr. I have enjoyed learning about self compassion from you. I have decided to share my own Mindfulness journey through my TH-cam videos too and decided to do some empirical research on mindfulness. You have inspired me. Thank you.

Very interesting. She looks a lot like my mother and my mother also has been way too self judgmental. I am so happy that Kristin had this realization and is actively doing something to dissolve the self judgment and harshness. When mothers are harsh towards themselves, when they have fear of society's rejection, when they can't laugh about themselves in a fun and open way, then that energy of harshness, it is also an Ego energy, can cause serious psychological and even neurological damage in their children. I have observed this first hand with my own mother and myself suffering from her harsh Ego energy. For me it was so traumatic that I was not able to read anything in front of other people which forced me out of university because the professors demanded a verbal presentation from me which I could not deliver. My entire life was led away from it's natural and normal path because of this trauma. Highly sensitive people like myself are the most affected by this situation.
I was lucky though. I don't know whether it is my autism or anything else, but I have always been able to protect myself from death due to my self pity and a sincere love for my body/system/person. This love for myself also included a lot of hatred towards those who traumatized me. Anger is often a rescuer in such difficult phases in our lives. Later on the anger stands in our way of progressing. People who are harsh with themselves judge those people like myself for dwelling in self pity and self love. I see it all the time all over the place. They might even call us narcissists. When in fact it is merely a healthy form of self defense. Dissolving trauma, anger, Ego, self defenses, fears, etc. later on is important in order to move forward in life. For me the question now is how do I dissolve the anger? It is not easy.

Give your anger to God he will take it from you you just have to open your heart and ask him to please take your anger and whatever else is bothering you.

It's a shame about the microphone ringing sound vibration. It ruined the talk for me.
