You know that feeling where an hour and a half ago you checked your sub-box and there was nothing good in it, so you went to watch something else, and now you check your sub-box again and there's a new epically-long Dslyecxi movie uploaded an hour and twenty minutes ago, but now it's too late to watch it?
So, that feeling.
And then you watch it anyways :D
FUCK, it's 3:30AM.
That's exactly what happened me last night.. So, here I am tonight, a bit earlier, locked, loaded, ready to roll.. 😉

All I can say is: wow. Seeing this gives a whole new insane perspective on how intense the mission was on all fronts.
In hindsight, this was definitely one of those nights I can proudly state happens "only in ARMA".
Have you seen Dslyecxi's "Fire from the Sky" video? That video displays the sheer immensity and intensity of some of these operations ShackTac runs. It's a similar mission as this but Dslyecxi is flying air support.

That Autorifleman at the east gate laying in a pile of bodies... he made it all the way to the bridge and I saw his MG laying on the ground when Dslyecxi looked back. That was one SWOOD guy.
Wow this mission had everything. Intense moments at the compound. Roll getting dropped off by little bird to help get in contact with company and guide in the little birds. The BMP and Dslyecxi having a stare down and having Dslyecxi win. That little bird just pouring round after round covering the last of the company coming across the bridge. Some tragedy with Panda and Heinz (he died on the bridge, I saw the black helmet and his MG).
Every time I saw Dslyecxi looking up at Reaper, I imagined him mournfully singing, "Yo ho, yo ho, a pilot's life for me." : ] And Roll's arrival made me think of the last reinforcements arriving at Dien Bien Phu.
I don't know if I've seen anything that comes even close too how intense and amazing this mission was. Amazing video Dslyecxi!! Well done Kilo!
I laughed when you hopped in the truck and exchanged glances with the driver and said "hey" in the most nervous way. Followed by "Contact right close"
you have put out a lot of great stuff over the years but this stands out as one of the best i have ever watched, awesome.
I have to say, I think that was one of, if not the best video you have ever put out.
How calm cool and collected you guys were was nuts. From a mission standpoint, was that a custom built compound(The First one, anyways)? Or is that somewhere on a map. I haven't made the trip to all the places on all the islands

Nope, that's default on the map. Sebjan, near the mine, but not the actual mine compound.
I'd love to play this game with the level of immersion you guys have.
Unfortunately with the timezone's it's pretty hard for some of us to jump in, otherwise trust me, I would apply ASAP
I feel like Dslyecxi and his squad should be singing a cadence while on the run, you know to lighten up the mood while running away from impending death.
Hands down one of the best Arma 3 videos I've watched, sort of 13 Hours and Lone Survivor combined. The Mi-8 Hip and BMP were the stand out moments without a doubt. Thanks Dyslecxi and ShackTac. 👍 :-)

Nah, the less random bullshit the better.
There's enough random stuff happening as is. I regularly see tanks flying around after lightly bumbing ATVs. On time I actually drove an ATV into an enemy tank (dunno why I did that) and since I was Zeus, I afterwards witnessed that Tank get catapulted all the way from the Main Altis Airport to the Salt flats in the East.

Holy cats, what a trip! Stupidly had a cup of coffee at midnight so I couldn't really go to bed and I see this nearly 2 hour video and thought, "well I know what I'm doing now". Thank you, Dyslecxi. Not a dull moment as you compound-hopped!

A lot of interesting moments. I don't really know what to comment on specifically. My most important question at the end of this is clear. I think I saw him go down. but... Did Heinz make it?.. You can lie to me to make me feel better FYI.

It's an issue with ambient occlusion - I turned it off partway into the mission to remove the artifacts.

well done, better than 99% of action movies.. the last half hour got me nervous as hell, the bmp, the hip shootdowns (gp? man..), the overheated barrels of reaper.. wow. we're back, dare I say it, to arma 2 levels of global mission entertainment?
An amazing amount of people survived all that shit, I'm surprised.

I'm curious, regarding the initial stand in the compound, do you feel that you spent too much time watching the western approach or do you feel it was necessary given the danger a large attack from that direction would have posed?

Idk what mod you use for the walls (@11:00), the bug with the shadows
going through them can be fixed with "Forcenotalpha=1" named property in
Geo LOD. (also mentioned in last sentence of community.bistudio.com/wiki?title=LOD&action=edit§ion=2) Just saying in case you want to pass it on to the creators.
The error you wondered about at 25:29 is likely also caused by this

Hi there. I'm new to this channel (a friend recommended me) and I really like these videos, quite entertaining. Just one question, why do the models and what not almost seem like ArmA 2 if this is 3? Are these mods or am I missing something? I thought ArmA 3 looked better. Thanks :)
This is an Arma 2 terrain.
Namalsk which is the map they play on this video use a lot of arma 2 assets and S.T.A.L.K.E.R assets.

3:00 How did you guys change the walking animation from the new standard Arma 3 walking with both arms on the rifle to the old Arma 3 style?
If I am seeing what you are you can have the weapon in the relaxed or ready posture. Relaxed supposed to not use as much stamina, so those long tall hills we just go at a walk. Think it goes chilled out walking, walking, combat pace (gun up and able to shoot), fast walk/run (no shooting), and panic run.
What Was up with the Walls around the compound? never seen that kind of bug before :/

Dslyecxi, are you guys using some AI mod? In your vids the AI is super-aggressive, and seems to maneuver separate elements pretty well.
They have custom AI settings.
So after they escape the first compound, why do they just go back into another?

In the mission editor, scripts, waypoints and using the "synchronize" tool in the editor.
Is the [SafeStart] script an in-house script for ShackTac? Been looking for a way to disable weapons at start and let them loose by activating a trigger. I just can't seem to find the correct conditions to modify
Check out F3 Framework. It has a built-in safestart component that works similarly. F3 also has a wiki for documentation... further, there are a bunch of communities that have derivative versions of F3. Sometimes these are also publicly available with wikis for documentation. There are some options out there, just poke around.

No, he's not talking about combat. You can go outdoors without being in combat IRL.
Dslyecxi hah ok.. i always half suspected you guys were mostly former combat vets considering how tight your game is (im exaggerating, but it wouldn't have surprised me at all if several shackers were ex-military)
