    I’ve been drinking very heavy for years, I stumbled on your videos and it’s been over a month since I quit. I can say I quit because your story really scared me don’t know if I’m sick I hope not. Glad I saw your video no one can believe it I’m on a diet, quit drinking, spending time with the family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ve tried quitting many times and this is what worked for me. Keep your head up you are doing gods work.

      And there are different levels of alcoholism. For me I am a binge drinker. Just because our liver did not fail does not mean you are not a alcoholic. You our friend saw what you were becoming, you stopped and now uou are a cheerleader as you recover❤

    Have you heard about the first approved medication for fibrous liver as of last month. Resmetirom (to be sold under the brand name Rezdiffra), received FDA approval on March 14, 2024. It is the first medication approved for treating metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a more advanced stage of MASLD characterized by liver inflammation and scarring known as fibrosis.

    My friend! It’s so heartbreaking to hear this. I can’t fathom you having been so ill 🤧 😢 We have our regular cirrhosis patients/ liver/ alcoholics that come and go on my Unit I work. Sometimes we have more than 50 % of our census is liver disease patients. When their NH4 goes high, we have to get a sitter for them to prevent falls, help with bowel accidents, pulling out IV’s and catheters. And lots of times they don’t want to drink their Lactulose so we have to insert NG tube to administer the meds. It’s very hard to take care of them and their acuity is so high that the Nurse will have less patients bc of that cirrhosis, hepatic encephalopathy, so many meds being administered and have to be cleaned and fed. Bedside Paracentesis sometimes , usually in IR , we have to measure the abdominal girth, daily weights, etc It’s very hard and I have regulars in their 30’s that won’t stop drinking until they are literally on the floor til a family member calls 911. Pancreatitis patients commonly go to ICU then come to us and they require lots of nursing care too. Constant monitoring, procedures, lab draws meds, IV narcotics, no food, they try to sneak food. They are miserable!!! It seems the numbers are going up and yes you are correct with the theory of The Pandemic , alcohol consumption went through the roof. Ppl are more stressed now, the economy and everything going on in the world. Gah!!! I’m glad you haven’t had ascites again or the other stuff 🫶🏻🙏🏼 I pray you remain stable ! Good night LD. PLEASE TAKE CARE ! Blessings ❤💚

I build my muscles with either 14 oz cans or just squeeze . I do Tai Chi and Qi Gong to build my legs . And fir some cardio. I have almost all them systems you do.

  • @CarolReidCA
    @CarolReidCA 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    Zofran (Odanestron, same thing) works for me... that would be the under the tongue stuff. There's also an 8mg.
    "Ginger Beer" from the grocery store often doesn't contain alcohol and helps a lot with some types of nausea. Definitely check the labels!!! (As with everything!)
    What I wouldn't give to have some Zofran rn, not to mention a follow-up sooner with a cardiologist, pulmonologist, and better pain control. This is about unbearable.
    I certainly understand why some people simply stop treatment and go on paliative care.
    My last ALT was still high after the episode with Tamiflu toxicity.
    My arms still hurt from the IVs and venipunctures in the hospital almost a month ago.
    At what point do we go to the ER? (And the local hospital gave me the Tamiflu that the doctors at the transplant hospital said caused this acute liver injury, so would they even know how to treat me right? Would they? Or would they do a CYA? Which from looking at my chart, they've already started (I'm changing doctors/ healthcare systems atm, but it takes time.)
    Like they say, don't ask questions you don't want answers to, and these ppl don't do necessary tests for treatment that might show their negligence... it's not a healthy relationship.)

    • @liverdisease-qb6rk
      @liverdisease-qb6rk  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Oh my gosh. I am so sorry. I did not know that Tamiflu was toxic to the liver. My Dr put me on it back in January or February, I can't remember. I know how you feel. It's a lot to deal with. The pain is real. I have spoken to my Dr about that multiple times and you can't take anything for it. It's just so much! I hope that you get better care, very soon! Thank you for watching! God blesz😊

    I went on a date with an alcoholic. He had drunk 3 pints of beer before I arrived to meet him at lunchtime in London.
    He took me straight to a bar where he drank another 4 pints.
    He looked like he'd lost a lot of muscle and he looked skinny fat.
    He barely ate lunch, just picked at his food. But was able to drink another 4 pints.
    At this point he started talking about the past and then cried. Sobbing about his ex girlfriend and his parents.
    It was very sad.
    He crashed at mine and in the morning I could hear him violently throwing up in the bathroom (he'd slept on the couch)
    Before he left, he opened my cupboard and found a bottle of rum that was a quarter full and he finished it off in about 5mins.
    Then he got a cab.
    There wasn't another date. He was very ill and shouldn't have been dating.
    He became abusive over the phone and threatened me. I said I'd call the police and blocked he left me alone

    Great vid. I didn’t realise you were diagnosed same time as me roughly. Apr ‘22 for me.
    I didn’t have as many of the symptoms I was just very sick and I never vomit so I was taken to A&E. They ran some tests and made the diagnosis.
    I had the oedema, slightly darker urine and auditory hallucinations though (which was the worst-as I thought I could hear music).
    No other complications though which I am still regularly checked for. Oh and I was 41 at the time too.

    I have to work, but I am sure I'll pop in on the live and see who's around. I've taken both forms of Ondansetron and the sublingual tablets don't really work at all.

I thought you had said you were going to post the video of your old cooking add? The one you played a bit of your voice sounded so raspy.

    Not sure if you are on Ozempic for blood sugar issues? That seems to cause nausea in a lot of people. Your physician may be able to modify the dosage.

    Did you work while drinking at your peak for years? Prior to diagnosis.
    Are you able to work now with your symptoms? I think that’s an important question as it shows how it impacts your life outside of the body but also your mode of income, source of support for possibly children and family, paying for a house, etc.
