      Hello. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am 44, so right there in age. It does sound exactly like my story. Did he ever stop, or did he drink until the end? It is such a hard thing to quit. The withdrawal and the feeling of emptiness without the alcohol is almost unbearable. I still don't know how I was able to quit drinking. I had tried so many times to no avail. Your son and yourself are in my prayers. Please continue to watch. I have so much to talk about that I'm sure you can level with. I am going to make a video today about how alcoholics are treated in the hospital and by the staff. I'm sure you will agree with and be able to understand exactly what I am going to be discussing. Thank you, God bless.

      Thank you once again for another helpful video. It's a strong tool in my tool box and helping me with my struggle. It's really not helpful listening to people that say 'I got sober, I used to get drunk every weekend or drink everyday' I'm not proud of my level of drinking but really reassuring knowing that I'm not the only one that does this...

      I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my daughter 2 years ago. She was 39. I am broken. She abused drugs and alcohol for years. When she got c@vid, her liver was shot and she couldn't fight off the smallest cold let alone that. No parent should have to lose a child. 💔

    This disease is so diabolical. The fact that you were that sick and had so many stomach problems and you still drank alcohol. I’m not an alcoholic but my dad was. He quit in his 50s and lived to be 86 sober. I think what saved him physically was that he always ate well. But the drinking did take a toll on his business, marriage and relationships.

    You're good at leveling with people dude. I drank since I was 12 and just got a real handle on it in the last few years. Just turned 34 a couple weeks ago. I have lots of stories I could tell also. Had temporary diabetes at one point from a 3 week bender in 2016 etc. Our whole society needs to wake up and stop revolving almost everything around getting a drink.

    I had a friend that died from choking on his vomit. He was an alcoholic. But, he only drank Guinness beer. But, that was all it took. He was in his twenties. I had a friend that owned a bar and his friend died the same way. He walked him home and put him in bed on his back. His friend was in his early 20's when he did it. But, I knew him in his 70's and he still felt guilty that he didn't put him to bed on his side. He used to warn the college kids that would come into his Irish pub about it. Hearing you tell stories about your life shouldn't be at all embarrassing for you. It's like listening to someone retelling mine. God bless you and your family, brother!

    I love your videos thank you. Im a 36 year old female living in Australia, i dont have cirrhosis of the liver but recently got sick. Now been diagnosed with fatty liver disease caused from alcohol and some bowel issues that were discovered with a CT scan. I still sometimes get pain under the leff rib but they say pancreas is looking ok at the moment. Its true when they say you dont have to be a full blown alcoholic to do damage. The drs are hopeful that with lifestyle change i can hopefully get my bloods and liver back to normal. Thanks again for the info on liver disease.

    The symptoms I had when Hemochromatosis started affecting my liver was: Night Sweats, leg cramps, & hives-like rashes on my legs. I was also very big - I lifted too - I was 321lbs. I’ve subsequently have lost 150lbs over 2 years by cutting out refined carbs. I eat no fruit because fructose goes straight to your liver. I eat mostly proteins and cruciferous vegetables. I only drink water, and one cup of decaf green tea. I hardly eat any dairy as the lactose bothers my stomach. I cut out all soda. Luckily I didn’t have diabetes, and eating low-carb has had me control my sugars.

    My sister was just diagnosed. She is 60. She had that anxiety like you had; always complained of feeling bloated; always drank rum or whiskey 🤢 with pop. She was diagnosed right after New Years. Im so scared for her. I pray she has watched some of your videos. I have sent her a few. She hasn't drank for a month. She was admitted 3 weeks ago with ruptured esophageal varices. She had started throwing up blood, got jaundice and high ammonia levels and didn't know who anyone was. It was so scary! They banded the varices. She was always afraid to go to the doctor and was probably just like you. So far so good, but she is fatigued, has a scope next week. Diuretics are working. BP is excellent. She said she feels good, but I'm scared for her. I don't drink, but I am here to learn about this awful disease. Thank you for sharing you journey. Although i don't have liver issues. I can relate. As ive been in the food industry my whole life also. And ended up drinking and taking things i shouldn't be. I did quit all that 4 years ago during the pandemic. But recently discovered a huge mass on my kidney. Its actually bigger then the kidney itself. Ive lost a very large amount of weight . I am 6ft 1 i was only 195lbs. So not that heavy. But now its pretty bad. I have alot of things happening at once right now. And its really testing my sobriety. Im losing my job after 28 years. With the diagnosis just 2 weeks before this. Im still sober. I guess thats all that matters. Hoping for the best for al of us

    That anxiety is because of too much Glutamate in one's system. Alcohol stimulates the calming neurotransmitter, GABA (why it relieves anxiety and feels so good), but then there is a corresponding rebound of its opposite stimulating neurotransmitter, Glutamate (since the body always tries to maintain homeostasis/balance).
    The best explanation of all this I read in a book by William Porter, Alcohol Explained (also has a YT channel). There are things one can do/take to restore the GABA/Glutamate balance (after quitting).
    But long story short, pretty much all that anxiety/nervousness after alcohol wears off, is due to excess Glutamate (why some people eventually start drinking during the night/morning...there is just so much stimulating Glutamate in the body that it's just impossible to sleep/function) . But yeah...the WORST feeling in the world! 😔✌️

      @liverdisease-qb6rk  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I think that's him. He always wears a button up shirt that's unbuttoned halfway down? I get really bad stomach aches still. That's due to my pancreas. I have to have another ercp on it January 4th. I'll talk about that in the next video. I had to cancel my hernia surgery because of it. I still get very nauseous everyday, no gout lately, I try my best not to vomit because when I do, those varicose veins rupture and I start throwing up blood, then I'm in the hospital getting blood transfusions.

      Sorry. I had no idea the noise was so bad. That's the only video like that. If I'm in a car, they are turned off. Thank you for your feedback! God bless

    It sounds like you had colitis. They could have helped you out with that's so you wouldn't have to deal with the diarrhea all the time. But I'm sure you don't have that problem now.

      Hello. Thank you for the comment. Nope. I sure don't have that problem anymore. Every once and a while I will. When I go to the hospital, they always make me take lactulose. Now, that's another story. I will be talking about what happens when. You're hospitalized very soon. Stay tuned and God bless.

      @JillABaker970 so sorry to hear about your dad. So many stories like this, it just shows how horrible alcohol really is. By the time that most people find out they have health issues, it's too late. There are often no complications or signs of a problem and then there is. Please continue to watch, God bless.
