  • Maxx Performance EA Falcon SOHC CFI - Part 1.
    Yep, we've got another E Series falcon Gem.
    We've decided to keep this once single cam.
    Let us know what you would like to see done to give it some more go!?

    Nothing wrong with the barra content, but there is absolutely no one doing decent videos on CFI 3.9 EA performance mods, so it is interesting to see something differemt. I think it would be good to see this thing progress, see what you can do with the centerpoint, keep that for a little bit, maybe then switch to multipoint, could do EB-ED intake, then switch to BBM. Then maybe finish it up with a swap to an AU HP or VCT engine, with a decent N/A build.

      EA Falcon Standard wasn't really good in Acceleration or power. If you wanted a Standard EA that was Decent The Falcon S with the MULTIPOINT Injection was ok with a 5 Speed.
      The good ones were the EA Brock and they also had a Turbo Model but it was a Package that was made by a Tuning Team and Produced to Ford as TickFord wasn't around. And there was 1 more that was released though they Weren't Popular so you never see any.
      The EB XR6 was a Excellent 6 that Ford Produced, it was able to do a 6.5 0-100 time which was unheard of in a 6 in that time Which wasn't Turbo or Supercharged.
      The XR6 Was still the more desirable car to buy all the way to the EL Series 2 as the XR8's before the EL Series 2 were not quicker in acceleration and didn't make Much More power just more Torque on the high-end so the XR6 was cheaper and could still Launch better than the 8.
      The Series 2 in the EL XR8 had the LSD and the 185Kw which brought the car to 5.7 so that was the better car unless you had the EB GT or EL as they were both 200Kw and in the 6 second range to 100.
      The Falcon Dropped the SR which was the S originally in the BA as BA offered the NA XR6 so it was identical to the Regular Falcon though the Barra was a Excellent Motor for power.
      The Barra with a Pod Filter and Exhaust was as quick as a Stock LS1 from HOLDEN so they had alot of Potential.
      I agree with keeping the Motor that the car came with as it's like many Ford's have Barras dropped in them as do Holden's with LS1,s.
      The AU TE and TS 50 series 2 were the cream of the Crop in the Windsor V8s, Their Stroked 5.6 made awesome power and Torque which brought Falcon to the 5 second 0-100 range and 500 NM of Torque with massive Brembo Brake Calipers.
      So the TE And TS 50 in that era were the Quickest Ford's to have.

    I converted my cfi ea to multipoint, made a huge improvement. With no other mods it would keep up with 5L commos.

    Love the EA, eb, Ed falcons. Best looking of all the falcons. And was my first new car i got back in 93. Had a eb xr8. Loved it. Now I own a, au sr falcon (as on my channel). Will sell my au to try buy a 5ltr eb or Ed hopefully....
    This is a clean ea but mate. Good work

    Yeah the EA26! Such a rewarding car to drive for some reason, it all just handles the road and feels right.

    Some of my funnest moments hooning around was in a 3.9 cfi 5 speed used to pull 3rd gear stand still burnouts quick car for a teenager back then

    Good to see we aren't the only ones !! :). Got a $500 1989 S pack 5 speed CFI late last year and did the Pacemakers and 2.5 redback exhaust and the 3.45 gears and 28 spline lsd compared to factory 2.92 with 25 spline . Took it to Willowbank and ran a best of 15.9 @86 mph. No tuning and using racing calculator it supposedly made just under 110rwkw...... :). Slow , but heaps of fun.

      @@arkhsm We have a cammed and ported EF head with dual valve springs that will eventually go on the car.....that should wake it up :)

    Reminds me of my first car EB fairmont, I did pretty much all of what you did, t5, exhaust, car, wheels, lowered, except a EL XR6 motor and wade cam and tune. Had 140 rwkw, was great fun. I miss it 😕

    I had an ea with single point and took it to Jim mock many moons ago and he installed his prototype headers on it. Made 92kw on gas 94kw on petrol. What a weapon that was😂Ha ha
    Still have the headers too.

    haha i owned one of thesse bog standard! biggest, slowest slug ive ever owned but was just as fast empty as it was with 7 lads in it, the boat on the back and the boot full of piss haha fantastic tow rig

    Love the ea/eb/Ed falcons.
    Would love to see you guys beef up an au falcon with the intech motor.
    I've got an au Fairmont I'm going to make mine and need some ideas on how to make it sound and perform better. Not huge power. Just a few more horses in the paddock will do.

    great content. who doesnt love a good daily nugget. some suggestions for things i reckon would be cool to see in ya sohcme build would be au xr6 non vct motor, as much compression as you can do without e85, keeping the ea rocker cover if possible, better valvesprings and anything else in the head that could allow a higher the rpm limit. individual throttlebodies for sweet induction noise style points maybe. Most of all, a good ecu. playing with a j3 would be good content for a video early in the development but id be looking forward to footage of it biffed in the trash

    I dig it. luv the older falcon 6's I recon they are a fairly under rated motor in my humble opinion there cheap it doesn't take much to wake them up a bit & there built like a brick shythouse. I'm not sure if there still around or available for that particular model & I've forgotten the brand name but we used to be able to get hand held tuning devices like a adjustable piggy back for the ecu that could adjust fuel/timing & save multiple tunes. We got 175rwkw on a early tickford motor with basic mods using one also seen a couple of sohc & even older pushrod 4.1's running well over 320hp with carb conversions

    Reconsidering putting my 2549 back on my new motor. Didnt think the power gains were that much. Also should get it tuned this time. 🤣🤣

    Love the idea of a quick(er) cpi but when your done itd be cool to keep its roots like putting a 4 barrel on it to be a bit different

    Would love to see a part 2 on this, I use to have a custom intake on my old EA Spac that had twin CFI carbs 1 feeding the front 3 cyl and a second feeding the rear 3 cyl and the induction noise was great ontop of it having enough go to blow off not only the multi points but even au xr6's lol Maybe you could try that and see how it goes.

    Same as my first car. Ended up doing a multi point conversion, then an AU VCT engine and eventually a turbo upgrade before I blew it up. Loving it and love the look of the E-Series Falcons.

    Maybe 4.0 EF tickford or EB 4.9 stroker kit, port head, bigger cam, direct air port head maybe? I know definitely can get chips for the old 3.9. but my old EF xr6 was stroked to a 4.9 shaved head 2.5 pace makers, big 120thou crank, j3 chipset, 100mm throttle, 3.7 in back, stage 3 Shift Kit with 2500stall.. made 404.5 hp on dyno....a lot of the stuff was already done when I bought it I just finished it off..But sadly it went to car heaven, idiot I sold it to thought he was a sick bloke and slid it into a stobie pole with his wife in the car...guess which side he hit??? And worst of all I saw it all happen on the way home from my in-laws, the look on his face was priceless when he saw me ripping the doors open!!
    But just ideas.. Or I could be way off with my ideas

    Those headers are porn! Would you guys ever consider making them a purchasable item?
    I’m putting a tickford VCT motor in my XG with a set of ITBs josh built for my Barra a while back, i was going to get a set of headers made local but yours are perfect!

    I have a cat a Bombay breed & over the years I've had fords she love sitting in the back-seat lol😂 I bought my son recently a ford laser kq last model 2002 guess what? Followed me down & sat in the back seat!!❤❤❤pood loves fords!!!!!❤❤❤

    Please keep this updated I'm currently undergoing a stage 3 cam an valve spring upgrade an was stuck with how to get a tune into it without going Barra ecu an new harness I've looked into the j3 chip but just unsure

    multi point for sure, maybe barra ECM like the Carnage AU, tho carby sounds cool as well, aussiespeed 4 barrel, more comp & ported head, O & the extractors look mint

    Older vid but just picked up an nc fairlane sportsman with a 4L tickford and keen to get it mint so in need some info have had trouble finding any info on the nc and parts for it been reading up on the ea/b/d and thinking parts should be the same

    What happened to the old jim mock motorsport. Used to see adds on back of magazines. Used to sell kits dev 5 etc did alot with these motors from memory.

    Just remember your last three words, so you really don't want to upset the balance by shoving a heap of weight in the front(v8). Is this your only manual? Just keep doing what you feel like, until you either get bored or feel it has enough power. Either way we the confined will watch it all with eagerness
