- Welcome to our Maxx performance Mini series !!
We Recently found an EA "Gem" on Facebook marketplace for $800 and it turns out the owner also had a BTR & BF Gas motor for sale for $1100 Why not put the two together and send it.
With a Budget build in mind (as cheap as possible within reason)and trying run a mid to low 10 down the 1/4 mile
This is our first episode explaining where the car came from & what our plans are. Stay tuned for more episodes with more action and where we will show you step by step - how to fit a Barra into this e-series with some little Maxx tricks on the side and all the parts & info needed to make it faasstt and fun cause that iswhat its all about !

Love the old EA model..... didn't when they came out , but has grown on me over the decades !!!! Now have a wagon and a sedan. Did base run with sedan recently and got Smashed by Nugget Garage BA Turbo build :) :) . 400rwkw with gas motor easy as, ours did it on 16psi :).
Nice one mate. Subscribed straight away. One suggestion is make sure your audio is mint. Get a mic and it'll improve the quality 10 fold.
The laughter in Lindsay's voice gets me everytime.

Looks like a EA S-Pac love that model; green barra turbo interesting!
The green top barra supposedly has very similar internals to the red top so it suitable for turbo conversion

Hey we have the silver top 195kw Normal aspirated Barra in South Africa. Is it the same as the green top engine or what? The engines are only now being imported but there's only a few people running them. So would like to know would these mods apply to that same engine?
So keen to see this build, have one of joshes ITB kits on my barra Cressida drift car I’m building and just picked up a bunky XG to do this exact swap 👌
How would one go about purchasing one of these ITB kits? I'd really love to put one on my Falcon, and see how far I can push it N/A.

Hi. I'm part way through dropping a turbo Barra into an XF Fairmont Ghia with a BTR M91LE transmission rebuilt to take 550 kw. Any idea who I should talk to about getting a wiring loom made up to get the whole thing kicking?
Never nock a ea falcon I have a 3.9 strocker custom crank rods head. Fuel is feed by triple 45 side draft Webber's and 150 horse power nos when it finished I will take on any Berra.

Yeh a bunch of Commodores but no EAs.
The earlier stuff is so much better for power to weight. That said, even 1400 kgs seems excessive to me.

You guys a funny on camera, keep the content up of the build, its an interesting build. I for sure have subscribed. Build your channel it will be very beneficial in the log run for you and the business. But....You guys have to sort out the lighting to suit cameras but. LED messes with camera equipment.
also, if possible keep your videos over the magic 10min mark. for algorithm reasons to help your channel grow.
@@MaStars22 It's not the LED lights specifically, it's cause they are filming at 60fps, in Australia you need to film at 50fps because our power grid runs at 50hz not 60hz like in America. You get the same effect with florescent lights too.

I see alot of people use gas barras why is that? Cause there cheap ? Or stronger?
rods are better than non turbo barras
11.1:1 compression ratio on the gas engine gives better pre spool response and better economy.

What year did the bf gas motors score thd stronger rods @maxx
All the B series egas motors had the stronger rods
100% Mostly Authentic why do ba have different rods in turbo motors to the bf mk2?
@@DPKdesign When they made the AU single cam motor, Ford took a lot of weight out of the motors to make them more efficient and make more power, this included using lighter rods.
This design was carried over to the Barra in the B series, but they found the Egas motors would bend rods when they backfired (curiously the single cam motors never did and the ford engineers never really figured out why).
So the egas motors had slightly beefier rods made for them which I'm assuming FPV decided they would would use the same rods for the Typhoon.
Come June 06 Ford decided to use the stronger rods on all turbo motors. I assume it was probably cheaper/more efficient to manufacture all the turbo motors with the same rod.
When you look at the rods side by side, there's not alot of difference.

Nor Dic my daily is a Hilux, my position on EAs is based on having had to fix way more of them than I can remember. I used to be able to get the cylinder head off one in half an hour as an apprentice.

Dropping in a Barra should solve that one.
Spirit Level Studios they just needed a decent head gasket... using an au mls head gasket cures 99% of the e series head gasket issues.
James. So you are left with something that is 50% more reliable, but is still gutless, drinks fuel, leaks oil, is noisy, has a shit interior, weak brakes, and handles like a dairy cow. All yours mate, you are welcome to them.
I have a EA B8 Brock, I'd have paid you guys to throw the Barra in, could have made a good vid, if any 1 has a Barra or a inline 3.9L in decent condition msg me or if u know anyone who does reliable engine work for a fair price in Melbourne hit me up..
