Welcome to our BRAND NEW series with our BRAND NEW (to us anyway) G6E Turbo!
We've decided to make a new series, detailing exactly what to expect when coming to our workshop for upgrades on your Falcon.
At Maxx Performance we typically do performance upgrades in "stages" this means, pairing similar styled modifications together to reach a certain power level. Starting at stage 1 being the smallest KW increase from stock, to stage 5, which will result in the largest KW increase from stock.
Each episode will be devoted to a single stage, to show you what's included performance wise - and what real world results you should expect, including a power run on both of our dynos (hub and roller) and a 1/4 mile time run at our local drag strip, Heathcote Park Race Way.
This first episode is just us setting a baseline - the car is 100% stock and we will measure the power and performance increases from the numbers we get out of this episode - we also talk you through our plan with the car and our reasoning behind creating another series.
as always - please bear with us when it comes to video quality - we are doing our best but at the end of the day we run a tuning shop, we're not "TH-camrs".

Good idea for the series... I think a lot of keyboard warriors will probably under estimate just how fast 12.8@111 actually is. Back in the 80's and 90's, if you had a 12 second street car, that was considered to be absolutely mental. Now if you aren't running sub 8's then you aren't even getting noticed. We are in a golden age, It's just so easy to go fast. Let me also say that a 12 sec car is heaps of fun to drive. The Butt-Dyno don't lie!
So true mate. Had a TE corty that ran a low 13- high 12s. And that was good tyres and a good night. And a EB doing mid to low 13s

Hey Zane nice work on video, I can see your doing really well in front of a camera now. I don't know why people always have to have a problem with every little thing in the video like chill out, the number plates are great there implying the purpose of the series and work perfect on the car and the music suits the style of video really well and obviously it's not gonna tickle everyone's fance but who cares, it's frustrating how many people have to have a issue with everything smh.

I’m going to thoroughly enjoy this series- I want one of these engines in my AU one day.
Got me hooked, That's a nice example of a stock car, kudos to the old owner, just what I've been waiting for. As a mechanic that just works on everyday cars I have been very impressed by even the standard Barra engine from when they were first introduced. This will be good viewing cheers
This is set to be an amazing series and I'm really looking forward to it!
Back in 2014 I had a FG MK2 XR8T and did my own little stage 0, stage 1 comparison. Stock it gave a mere 235rwkw on a dyno and running down the quarter at Heathcote I got a PB of 12.95 but ran a few 13's getting there. In 2015 After purchasing an SCT4 with 3 'ebay' tunes and putting 'semi-slick' but street legal tyres on along with a squirt of octane burst I ran a PB of 11.96 @119mph on 98 octane fuel. I'm super keen to see what kind of KW numbers and quarter mile times come with each stage of your packages!

Awesome to see. Great series! Keep em coming! Interesting seeing the difference between chassis and hub dyno. Thought the difference would be more - although I was expecting the hub to be a lot less, 220kw-ish. You've got a pretty spicy unit there.

I know people will laugh and say “it’s a Barra it’ll go forever on SBE making 400rwkw….”
But I’m interested to know what starts breaking at what power levels, and what stage and combo is, in your opinion, peak balance between performance/fun and reliability/longevity.

Prices are tricky as they would change as the video gets older. We have all packages and current prices on our website though!

Does the switch at the end of the throttle pedal travel change anything map/boost wise in the ecu apart from the trans kickdown?

Well it was a 50/50 between stock bottom end or seat belt extender.
Mines stock aswell and I ran 12.818, my mates say it’s tuned 100%, this will prove them wrong

that was impressive for a stock grandad spec car. my ba on dyno showed bang on 300kw and i have only run the same times 12.8. no mods other than injectors and fuel pump. is it the BTR that is holding it back ? and can stall be tuned into it current 60 foot a weak 2.2
100% tall first gear and low stall. a high stall will smash that 60'.
Nice work doing runs on rollers and hub 👍 It won't shut the keyboard warriors up, of course...but nothing ever does.

hmmm completely stock but it’s got mk2 interior n mk1 bar what else has been done
It has a mk2 ICC,
Stock interior... stock everything, also pulled the tune to compare against the stock Calibration list via PCMTEC. It is 100% stock tune wise and no bolt ons.
