- We run up Matt's turbo ED XR6. Fitted with an S369 and MoTeC M150, Crow Cams, ARP HeadStuds + Valve Springs. Stock Composite Headgasket, Stock bottom end, stock E series BTR gearbox. It's incredible how hard you can push these things!!!

💯💯 he has done a great job. After getting some data logs on the dyno they put another couple PSI in it on the way home. Injectors now at 92% DC so thats about it until new fuel system, would be getting close to 650whp though which is insane for a near stock engine thats been street tuned!
Holy crap-that thing hits. I’d have thought conservative boost in midrange would help stock rods hold up, but bugger that! I’ve got a green top sitting in the shed for my EB but the stock SOHC might be staying where it is (with a couple of minor enhancements). Great content! More E-series Falcons!

Very impressive of both the road tuner and of Motec's products plus the BTR also! This thing looks so clean on camera, much credit to the owner, and another informative and entertaining video from you blokes...
Definitely need to invest in some decent straps and start strapping better. Our roller dyno sees 1000+ very commonly with minimal wheelspin. The straps you get with the dyno are basically elastic.
If all else fails. Load it, drop the air out of the tires. Strap it hard. Then pump the tires up.
Impressive on a single cam! Assuming it’s running out of fuel pump rather than injectors, 6 1400’s will do 850 through an auto.
We have had much higher power cars on our rollers before without issues. Dyno was built in 2008, they definitely aren’t the straps that came with the dyno haha. Nothing wrong with our straps or the DD HD traction system, just the way boost control is set up (dual 3 ports) it comes on savage and the converter was fairly unhappy about it, just took a few runs to find where it was happy to sit on the roller and bite. The last two runs were 0 wheel slip 👍

I’m keen to turbo mine when I can. Got myself an AU xr6 Ute.
deflate the tyres 15psi and strap it down, then pump the tyres back up, really helps out with the tyres not spinning then to hook up.

any worry about the power/torque coming on really hard in the mid range? very impressive, looks great too.
Please please please buy arp headstuds for built sohcs, the stock head bolts are twisted from factory, literally, I snapped 4 stock head bolts in a na xg 6, the $250 I spent on arp headstuds was worth it’s weight in gold, also they are reusable, best investment for making power in a sohc 6 would recommend to anyone reading
Very very impressive. I’m building an XP….. I have an intech and also a 5.4 Dohc.. , sure makes me lean towards the intech , much easier to fit also. Do you know what top end it has ?? Pistons and rods ?? Cheers
Think its all stock, only head studs, cam and valve springs up top, bottom end stock.
Agreed I had to watch it twice to make sure that’s what was said. although when talking bottom end I more refer to crank , thus asking a bit more info. Hopefully the guys who own it chime in. Cheers

I’m currently building a ef with gt45 turbo custom turbo manifold on a 2500 haltech ecu this is great information for me as I was only going to do cam head studs and springs as well if that’s what this motor will do on e85 what’s mine going to do on methanol injection as well omg I’m excited now ......wooooo hooo any more info on this car would be awesome mate and tips you might have would be ahpreciated ?

My .AU Falcon SR Sedan is still running well Touchwood.
Just a couple of things that I have changed is a leather steering wheel out of Fairmont Ghia alongside with a T-bar Chrome button all I have done just bringing my car to stock standard otherwise but with a couple of extra bells and whistles because of it being a SR pack.

That’s one nice ED .....
The ed engine has the small lifters, the Ea has big ones but they detuned the ed model for some reason, we had an ebii and the engine never broke only the alternator and it burnt off new sv6 commodores, just a 9/92 eb gli with auto, unless someone had bored it previously 🤔sad though sills started rusting.
Do you know what size turbo and how much boost. Awesome effort though

Just had me ed xr6 motor rebuilt lol tty bolts in the head to stop me doing dumb shit😂👌but im in the na game but hats off to this thing i no a dude whos built a turb ed 6 my rebuilt ed xr keeps up with it so to speak but hes to tight or silly to rebuild a motor he cant bury me like he should be in theory 😂

So is this an AU engine? or The ED engine? I have a ED XR6 with the engine out and building a fresh EB donk. Does anyone know if the ED bottom end is better than the EB?

Its an ED engine. To my knowledge the EB is the same.
