I like rollercoasters. I like feeling the bass. Music can be loud if I am dancing but not so loud it hurts my ears. I have somewhat sensative ears. I like my boyfriend to squeeze me very tight. He complains that I am using him as a Temple Grandin squeeze machine.
Yes! The hypo/hyper sensitivities thing is so interesting. Yes to fast rides. I love going on the back of my friends motorbike and thoroughly enjoyed skydiving but can't ride a bike and I'm scared of heights. I love strong flavours but couldn't eat a cheese sandwich if you paid me. I love cold water wild swimming but showering is a daily (who am I kidding, weekly) nightmare for me and background music fucks me up but earbleedingly loud music is life. Glad I'm not alone. P.s. I just recieved my diagnosis after a 2 and a half year wait. I've no autistic friends to talk to about it so I'll just quietly whisper it here
I like the idea of going on a motorbike, but recently gave a little electric scooter a go for about 8 feet before I got scared and wanted to get off 😅 Wild swimming similarly, I love the idea of, but know I’d get spooked if anything touched me, not to mention I can barely swim! Please, whisper, shout, anything you fancy as much as you want! I made these videos to find people like you and have this lil space for us all 💕
Noise cancelling headphones with loud music is great, although you have to warn people to not sneak up on you as that's terrifying. Disco lights at home = good too. It's amazing what a little USB light can do. I know exactly what you mean about loud music at concerts though. I love that too.
I like rain and cold wind. This is often the only reason why I watch the weather forecast. What makes it even better, is that most people don't like to go out in the rain. I especially like when it's either warm outside and it's steady rain with not too big drops, or when it's almost only a drizzle, almost freezing with light wind. The entire atmosphere puts me in a calm and "safe" mood and I even like the feeling of raindrops on my skin.
Dana, I really like listening to you. There's this thing I got in a monthly subscription box from Blurt that had a book in it called "Sensory Self-Care Toolkit", the company went bust so they don't make it anymore but now it's a free resource online to download and print off instead. I can't put links here but if you just search the name it should come up. It helped me loads with figuring out all sensory needs. Highly recommended looking into it.
Rides, omg this is my favourite feeling ever. Have always loved them. Going to Florida, whilst is appalling people wise and absolutely exhausting, there are so many different epic rides, catering to every sense, it is HEAVEN!! A more everyday version is being in the car, I trust my husband driving so I am left to feel the rush the wind on my hand, or all around me if we have the roof down. LOVE 💕
Lol. The concert thing. This past year I've gone to so many and totally loved it. I even love to go by myself because then I don't need to keep track of anyone 😅 I just stand there reading a book on my phone until the music starts. I started wearing headphones every day like 15 years ago, way before I knew anything about adhd or autism. I just really enjoyed listening to music, and found it helpful when going places or doing chores. I now wear them 24/7 and have 2 pairs of expensive noise cancelling headphones... I've had them for like 4 and 6 years, so it's better than having to buy new cheap ones once a year because they stop working. That being said I also play instruments and really love rythm games like guitar hero, ddr and beatsaber 🤓 totally a stim. And don't get me started on food, drinks, cutlery, bowls and mugs 😅
As an autistic person, one of my major sensory issues is water dripping down my face. I don't care about any other body part getting wet, but when I start to sweat or water is splashed on my face, I want to rip the skin off my body and try to stop the source of the wetness as quickly as possible. I literally hate washing my hair because of this (yes, I still wash my hair on a healthy basis) but I absolutely cannot stand it. As a black person, conditioner has to sit in our hair for at least an hour before it does anything, so we just put a shower cap on our heads as it marinates our hair. That's when some water would drip down my face and I absolutely hate it. I cannot stand it. I find some conditioners that restrict some of the water flow, but it doesn't do it completely. If anyone has his problem, please share some tips, I am pulling at strings here. TL:DR, I cannot stand water dripping down my dry body, especially down my face, and I want to claw it off
I can relate to the shower, but I've never been to concert, Liverpool sounds fun would you say it is nicer than manchester Dana??? I just saw a glowing video from an American on Manchester
Fairy lights are a huge one for me! Loud music, chocolate, roller coasters, so many things you’ve listed here too.

I always love to have a drink whilst I'm driving. Usually a tin of Iron Bru or something
