Just to summarize some of the small steps she mentioned that will keep us mentally strong -
    1. Practicing gratitude: Focus on the positive aspects of your life and express gratitude for what you have, rather than dwelling on what you lack.
    2. Comparing yourself only to your past self: Instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on your personal growth and how you've improved compared to who you were yesterday.
    3. Embrace uncomfortable emotions: Allow yourself to feel sad, angry, or scared, and then move on. This will help you gain confidence in your ability to handle discomfort.
    4. Setting healthy boundaries: Establish limits with others to maintain a sense of control over your own life, without trying to control others or letting them control you.
    5. Accepting life's inherent unfairness: Understand that life is not always fair, but this doesn't mean you're doomed to suffer. Focus on creating the life you want, despite the challenges you face.
    6. Making small, positive changes: Start with one small change in your daily routine or habits that can improve your mental well-being, such as replacing a sugary drink with a healthier option or incorporating a few minutes of exercise into your day.

Mentally strong people have healthy habits. They manage their emotions thoughts and behaviors in the ways that set them up for success in life check out these things that mentally strong people don't do so that you too can become more mentally strong.
    1. They don't waste time feeling sorry for themselves.
Mentally strong people don't sit around feeling sorry about their circumstances or how others have treated them. Instead they take responsibility for their role in life and understand that life isn't always easy or Fair.
    2. They don't give away their power.
They don't allow others to control them and they don't give someone else power over them. They don't say things like "my boss make me feel bad" because they understand that they are in control over their own emotions and they have a choice in how they respond.
    3. They don't shy away from change.
Mentally strong people don't try to avoid change. Instead they welcome positive change in are willing to be flexible. They understand that change is inevitable and believe in their abilities to adapt.
    4. They don't waste energy on things they can't control.
Did you hear a mentally strong person complaining over lost luggage or traffic jams?! But Instead these people focus on what they can control in their lives. They recognize that sometimes the only thing that they control is their attitude.
    5. They don't worry about pleasing everyone.
Mentally strong people recognize that they don't need to please everyone all the time. They are not afraid to say no or speak up when necessary. They strive to be kind and fair but can handle other people being upset if they didn't make them happy.
    6. They don't fear taken calculated risk.
They don't take reckless or a foolish risk but don't mind taking calculated risks. Mentally strong people spend time waiting their risk and benefits before making a big decision and they are fully informed of the potential downsides before they take action.
    7. They don't dwell on the past.
Mentally strong people don't waste time and dwelling on the past and wishing things could be different. They aknowledge their past and can say what they've learned from it. However they don't constantly relieve bad experiences or fantasize about the Glory Days. Instead they live for the present and plan for the future.
    8. They don't make the same mistakes over and over.
Mentally strong people accept responsibility for their behavior and learn from their past mistakes. As a result they don't keep repeating those mistakes over and over. Instead they move on and make better decisions in the future.
    9. They don't resent other people's success.
Mentally strong people can't appreciate and celebrate people's success in life. They don't grow jealous or feel cheated when others surpass them. Instead they recognize that success comes with hard work and they are willing to work hard for their own chance at success.
    10. They don't give up after the first failure.
Mentally strong people don't view failures as a reason to give up. Instead they use failure as an opportunity to grow and improve. They are willing to keep trying until they get it right.
    11. They don't fear alone time.
Mentally strong people can tolerate being alone and they don't fear silence. They aren't afraid to be alone with their thoughts and they can use downtime to be productive. They enjoyed their own company and aren't depend on other for companionship and entertainment all the time but instead can be happy alone.
    12. They don't feel the world owns them anything.
Mentally strong people don't feel entitled to things in life. They weren't born with a mentality that others will take care of them or that the word must give them something. Instead they look for opportunities based on their own merits.
    13. They don't expect immediate results.
Whether they are working on improving their health or getting a new business off the ground mentally strong people don't expect immediate results. Instead they apply their skills and time to the best of their ability and understand that real change takes time.

Every person goes through worst experience in life. It is different from person to person and varies People can have one or multiple bad experience to them.
When i said worse experience. I think about life put u down to the ground where u think u cannot seem to go back up. That is a way of life testing us if we can make it back to the path again.
Some people fail - those are the people who die than to live , commit the act of dying and succeeded and some people survive and found their way back in life.

Amara, Avoid comparing yourself with anybody or anything. Practical steps are needed to reprogramme your mind. Reduce negative thoughts to relax. Its quite simple with a little determination. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe your natural incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 10-15 minutes or more. Let thoughts come. Slowly negative thoughts will reduce and relax the mind. Whenever you are free during the day or night before sleep sit or lie down still for a few minutes and observe your breath. Being still reduces negative thoughts. Do the above practice daily to have a good life. Best wishes and prayers. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

The only person you should compare yourself to is God, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only one worthy of our worship and the only one worthy of all the glory. Amen!
      +
      Run to Jesus!
      Trust in Him alone!
      +
If you have defected from God then read these Scriptures: (Lost Sheep, Luke 15:1-7 - Lost Coin, 15:8-10 - Lost Son, 15:11-32 - Rich Man and Lazarus, 16:19-31) Jesus is calling you back home, read His word, believe and repent. Saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone!
      +
The world is racing toward "AMAGEDDON" !!! And people need to get right with the Lord!
If you have not read the books of (Daniel chapters 7-12), (Ezekiel chapters 37-39) (Matthew chapters 24:1-51 + 25:1-30), (1 Thessalonians chapters 1-5), (2 Thessalonians chapters1-3) and (Revelation chapters 6-19), now would be a good time. They will explain a lot about what is going on right now!
These books will cover the "Wars" about to come, the catching up / the blessed hope, World judgement, hence the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation! These books will also be the most ominous and scary for the unbelievers and the most exciting and uplifting for those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!...
It is my hope and prayer that people would repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before all these things take place, because it is going to be very, very scary if you do not and you decide to wait and see what happens.
      +
May the Lord encourage you to seek the truth, in Jesus' name. Amen and Amen.
      +
All glory be to God. Amen!

It really just depends on how badly that particular psyche takes those things. It is non-voluntary action of a mind. Some are better in taking personal losses than others. No free will baby, not in any way. It is an illusion.

honestly...We all struggle with petty things :D The key is to accept how you feel, take a deep breath and then move on. Haha the number of times a friend's petty remarks have brought me down is amazing lol! but I accept how he made me feel, take a deep breath and move on. Everyone experiences tough situations differently, the important thing is not to be hard on yourself for feeling how you feel. When you've accepted your feelings, it is no longer a huge, psychological wrestler and you are free to allow your brain to work out solutions.

Honestly, there was something about what she said that inspired me to change. In a way: “Stop throwing a pity party”, “Life isn’t fair and no one owes you anything”, “You are the main character of your story and you can make that story whatever you want it to be about”. I think she had it tough and to see how everything worked out for her at the end (to some extent) gave me the practical perspective of that when one door closes, another opens. I started journaling with check list with small daily tasks, read books and changed small everyday habits - which lead to me having a very different daily life than before.

Summary: get rid of bad mental habits ---->
    1. Self pity (exaggerating problems)
    2. Victim mentality (thinking that ppl/situations have the power to hurt you, instead of thinking how you can choose to respond)
    3. Expecting that life is fair (that if you work hard, you'll find success)
Developing mental strength is just like developing physical strength. Cultivate good mental habits (healthy food) and get rid of bad ones (junk food). Practice daily to train your brain (gym). Start small. Keep going.

By deleting facebook and instagram my life changed 180 degrees. I started focusing more on my life not caring about how beautiful the life of others is. Also setting a plan for my day and using the time I spend surfing the internet carefully made me a much happier person.
The phrase that is motivating me to achieve something new everyday is "The only person you should compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday''.

This popped up randomly. My mom passed away unexpectedly when I was 22 1/2. Days before my 24th birthday and only after 6 months of marriage but 7+ years together I found out my husband was having an affair. He then continued and became mentally abusive I finally stood up for myself September 8th and he left once I told his truth. I’ve never “adulted” alone. Hey, sorry to hear that...cant give any good advice since i know nothing about you. however, something that helped me a lot to understand more about myself and why i feel bad is watching/ reading Jordan Peterson. e.g. "stand straight with your shoulders back" = learn/show that you are somebody not anybody. people will tell you that you should focus on yourself and not others, which is extremly difficult to achieve, but it helps when you start recognizing yourself as somebody and articulate your own goals. sooner or later, what others do wont be so imoprtant anymore, but it takes time (like learning an instrument), be patient but persistant.... i wish you all the best

I personally feel like she'll always see me like a failure...which is why the title of this video caught my attention. I want to be strong...but it's not been easy. Even though my mom has said hurtful things to me and makes me feel not good enough I still love her for at least being there for me and not just kicking me out. One time she fainted and I freaked out thinking I lost her forever. I want to be there for her till her time ends.
The comment I put was a simple message to value the good that you have. I know I'll miss her presence when her time is done. I'm sorry if my comment offended you. It was not my intention to hurt anyone here. I don't know what would be the best answer for your question, but hopefully someone can provide a good answer for you here. Mothers can get on our nerves, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be shown some love 😔 maybe you can try telling your mother how she makes you feel and if she doesn't listen to you, you can try finding other ways. Those small things fixes alot of stuff... Death is so unexpected so take 10 minutes of your day to talk to your mom, tell her nice things or talk to her about what she likes to do, what her favourite color is, what was the funniest thing that have happened to her when she was your age... This has been really helpful to me. I lost my mum when i was 19 and it gave me this idea that my dad would be somehow safe and the universe would not do anything to take him away from me. Well three years later he died of a heart attack without any warning. I was floored and never let myself get over it so as not to through the sadness again. I had a baby at 19 and my son became ill and was in and out of hospital until he was 7, heartbreaking to see (gladly hes fine now). All this impacted me in may ways, with anxiety issues and OCD. 3 months ago my partner of 24 years left me out the blue, no warning at aged 41, partly due to my anxiety. I have been suffering badly since. All the loss I never dealt with all at once. This moving talk had given me hope that I will become stronger and deal with all this loss. What a beautifully tempered, strong, courageous woman.. You can hear in her voice how she was on the verge of crying, but she held strong, to be able to share her message through her experiences.. Doing so and summarizing beautifully and eloquently..
In my opinion, her statements about Facebook are absolutely true.. People post up their best "scenes" in life, never the "behind the scenes".. People compare and develop unhealthy ways of thinking and comparing, especially when things aren't going so well.. Unhealthy competition is created, then animosity, jealousy, resentment.. Dwelling and pondering.. It brings up the mistakes you have made in life, the circumstances which you had no control over, the actions of others who have affected your life.. Creating anxiety, depression, and the feeling of everything overwhelming.. To be able to let go of all that is absolutely crucial to keeping things in context and in perspective..
I'm definitely going to be looking for her book and look forward to reading it..

It is extremely detrimental to deny the past and keep taking life day by day. I’m learning to accept the past in order to appreciate the present and plan for the future. Mental strength can’t come in a moment. Everything takes time and focusing on myself has been the only way that I’ve been able to find peace. I hope everyone watching this video can find the peace within themselves too.

I used to be so fixated on my personality disorder and all the hardships and struggles I went through bc of it. I followed Reddit pages about it, watched TH-cam videos from psychologist, and hated myself for having the disorder. Now that I no longer read the posts, watch the videos, and tell myself I’m better than my diagnosis I’m doing much much better. My pity party was ruining my progress I wanted so bad

It’s okay if you read some news occasionally as we human are all social creatures. Care for people around you and talk to then more often will distract you from constantly focusing on the disorder itself.

There is no shortcut to being mentally and emotionally strong. No techniques. No meds. No counselling.
The only way you can get mentally strong is to endure. Endure pain. Endure loss. Endure disappointment. Endure failure.
The most important factor is TO BE WILLING to get through things. If that will is not there, NOTHING can help you.
But when you are willing and have the patience to endure and come to the other side ( the side where you are getting over it ) you will realize it didn't kill you. Or break you. If you can see that and realize that, you will also learn that you can in fact deal with things and that is when you get to know you have been and can be strong. It isn't so bad.
The brain really does fade away memories. How much do you remember of your college farewell ? Or your first date ? If you think about it, you will realize that you actually don't recall too much about it. And just like the good things, the bad things also fade.
That moment of decision when we have to decide whether to hang in there or to give up is the most crucial. The choice we make at that point is what decides our path forward.

From me to anyone reading. Be truly patient with yourself. Life is a series of good and bad days. It’s ok to remember, but don’t dwell. Look back only momentarily and then take a step forward. You are doing your best and that looks different every day. Moving on takes time. You will eventually be the person you were before.

Many people commenting on the speakers manner of presenting, it is quite literally her way of coping while speaking on such a difficult topic. I am the same when I do lived experience presentations about losing my youngest son to suicide, 2 days after his 22nd birthday.
I tend to use my grief and anger to channel me through these presentations. And sometimes I come across as unaffected.
    I get her so well.

I have had ocd for about 4 years now, it’s mentally drained me the last 3 and a half years. But in the December of 2021 I decided I need to find a cure, a way out. I discovered this therapist on TH-cam that specializes in ocd and anxiety. He helped me threw my problems it all began with me really fighting against my thoughts, by agreeing with them. This might sound weird but it helped me. I felt stronger mentally, I kept watching him and I’m almost free of my ocd! I just have to keep fighting and it all started with me self reflecting, If I wanted the rest of my life to be like this. Keep fighting what your fighting don’t give up. It gets better eventually but don’t think that the world should feel sorry for you. You have to be strong so keep fighting!🙏🏾🤝❤️
