I don't know if telling people to increase magnesium is helpful as most people have no clue about electrolytes and how they function. I think you should encourage people to eat the right foods before telling them to take supplements. Theres a woman online telling everyone that magnesium is a miracle cure for constipation on GLP1 agonists, thats dangerous, I dont think she or her viewers even suspect that electrolytes are key to the functioning of the heart muscle. 99% of people have no clue about biology or physiology, I think a little knowledge can be very dangerous!
Normally chia works brilliantly for me and as I eat a mostly plant based wholefood diet with fish and occasional meat to keep my protein up, I would just add more chia seeds to my breakfast seeds, nuts and oats mix. I wanted to check first though. I have also made a point of walking every day and am drinking upwards of a litre of water daily on top of whatever else I am drinking (tea, coffee, smoothies).
Thanks for sharing your approach! Chia seeds can definitely help with constipation due to their high fiber content, so adding a bit more could be helpful. Just be sure to increase your water intake as well when you up the fiber to keep things moving smoothly. Walking daily is a great habit too-it really supports digestion! You might want to try aiming for a bit more water, especially since tea and coffee can be a little dehydrating. But it sounds like you're on the right track with your plant-based diet and routine! If the constipation persists, checking in with your healthcare provider is always a good idea.
