Nikki Taylor was my absolute favourite. Cover Girl was the first ever makeup brand that I used. YM magazine was my makeup bible.
Same... shes iconic!!
Just want to point out that while Cover Girl themselves don’t test on animals their parent company does and also pays for testing to sell their products where it’s required by law.
Can you please do a video on Merle Norman Cosmetics? My dad and mom met at the factory and my grandma used their cosmetics so it’s nostalgic to me.
Yes!!
My mom has been using the Cover Girl Clean liquid foundation and matching pressed powder since she was a teenager and she's gonna be 73 years old next month! It's the only foundation I've ever seen her use. She also uses their old school stick concealer. That along with her holy grail Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks and her Maybelline Full N Soft mascara and Express pencil eyeliner and you pretty much have my mom's entire makeup look for the past several decades....
I use Covergirl clean foundation in creamy natural. It’s seamless and matches my skin perfectly. The finish is incredible with my skincare underneath. I have tried others but always keep coming back to that one.
Also I use the power that is the invisible one. With the foundation it’s perfect.
When I was a kid in the 1960s everyone used Noxzema on sunburns!! Gosh, it burned! Thanks for the video❤
I used to do that. 😂
I like the old slogan, easy, breezy, cover girl
I still use some of their products. And I use noxema for skin care and sunburn. My favorite supermodel for this brand is Cheryl Tiegs. I will continue to use them, since I have since I was a teenager. I’m 57 now and a grandmother.
I just bought Covergirl Simply Ageless powder and Cleantopia mascara in Ultramarine Black, which is a dark blue. I like the powder but haven’t tried the mascara yet. I am not worried about contaminants. I think we’re exposed to so much stuff that the small amounts in cosmetics is negligible. I do think most of Covergirl has improved since Coty bought it.
HS years 74-77 my everyday beauty routine Cover Girl blush ,eye shadow and lip gloss, cornsilk powder and Aziza waterproof mascara after using an eyelash curler, Cerissa perfume...Seventeen magazine and Teen Magazine were my beauty bibles😁
I've used a combination of Cover Girl and Maybelline makeup since I was a teen. Marathon mascara was a favourite of mine. Thanks, Laura.
I use their pressed powder in the Simply Ageless line. It makes my skin look Poreless! Thanks for the fun and informational video.
I’m going to check that out. 😊
Thank you for this video. I started using Cover Girl foundation with Olay in it, a few years ago, as an older woman. I love it.
Laura, I still wear the Cover Girl liquid makeup since I was 15 years old .That is the only liquid makeup that I use.
I used to buy Cover Girl when I was a teen. It wasn’t too expensive.
Did you like it?
Nice job, as always, Laura.
People of my generation would probably best remember Jennifer o'Neill from the 1971 film "Summer of '42".
Yes! I'm 42 but I watched that movie because my mom talked about it. It came on tv one day and I was curious... she's so pretty ❤
Thanks for the video! I still buy the waterproof mascara in the orange tube and the concealer. I remembered Christie Brinkley, Rachel Hunter and Nikki Taylor!!
Thanks for watching
My late mom used covergirl clean makeup foundation every day. I still swear by noxzema for sunburn and I sonetimes use Noxema to clean my face after cleansing cream. I like how refreshed it makes me feel.
Thanks for sharing!!
I never could use their foundation because Noxzema made me break out.
I loved their liquid frosted blush that came in a glass bottle. Beautiful glow and wore all day. Today I still use their cheekers blushes!
I love their frosted eye shadows
I grew up with the original slogan, and I definitely prefer it. I used some Cover Girl, Hard Candy, Physicians Formula (sparingly as it was my mother’s) , and occasionally Maybelline. I would still purchase Cover Girl, probably over others (except Hard Candy) as I do see they have clean makeup products and I’m familiar with their brand! Plus it’s easy to get their products.
The "I Am What I Make Up" slogan brings to mind images of straight jackets and Napoleon hats.
I still use some CoverGirl. I like their lipsticks, and their blushes the best. I still have a powder compact from CoverGirl and a jar of Noxema.
I used Cover Girl as a teen, but I stopped as I got older because I don't like the smell of Noxzema. I like their old slogan better than their new one.
I started using Noxzema at 13 , loved the smell. I wore Cover Girl makeup starting in high school thru the 200s, then I discovered high end cosmetics and never looked back. I still check out their line when I go to the drugstore, but if I buy, It's NYX. I loved Christie Brinkley when she was the representative, she was so approachable.
Don’t you mean the 2000’s? I use high end makeup 💄 as well!
How dare they stop my favorite metallic lipstick !!!
I love your channel its so educational but also so fun. Im hooked! ♡
Same. I just did her channel late last night
Covergirl's Aquasmoothers foundation and tinted moisturizer is amazing for my skin. They are definitely nostalgic!
I"m in my late 40s, and I prefer the tinted moisturizer over BB cream.
I love the aqua smoothers !
I wore Cover Girl foundation and pressed powder in my teens and 20s. It was light, felt good and did the job. Fun videos, Laura Jane. 🎉🎉🎉
I love CoverGirl $8 concealer it is as close as you're ever going to get to the shape tape concealer that is way too expensive
Cover girl clean is the only liquid foundation I like. For cream foundation I use Avon, but for liquid cg clean looks great.
I remember the reek of Noxema in the girl's bathrooms in high school
I remember one of my worst memories was accidentally spilling a bottle of foundation on the carpet of the band locker area; close to 30 years later, and I'm still mortified!
I remember the girl's gym locker room smelled like Secret and Right Guard deodorants back in those days.
Cover girl was my first foundation i loved the noxzema clean makeup formula especially tge one with salicylic acid for breakouts. I miss this formula Christie Brinkley and Niki Taylor were my favorite cover girls. I didnt know about the toxic ingredients and its all i used as a teen and pre teen.
I wish they still had the clean makeup one
I tried some CoverGirl makeup in my teens, but nothing stuck. Maybelline has great mascaras and eye shadow. Revlon lipsticks and nail polishes are great.
The new drugstore giants, NYX and Elf have been hit or miss, but I enjoy some products from each.
Even though I am not a consumer of CG Cosmetics, their original slogan was way catchier. The new one seems to fall rather flat, I think.
I've been using CoverGirl makeup since I was a teen during the 80's. Today I still use their products. My favorites are their Outlast Lipstick and their TruBlend concealer.
I use to buy a certain red lipstick. I original slogan was the best. It never aged.
Still buy it, love it . One of my top drugstore brands.
This was a great video! 🩷💜❤️🤎
Still use Cover Girl, since 1976. Mom bought me Noxzema, Ponds, and Cover Girl makeup. She taught me to put ponds under my makeup. LOL! She had dry skin. I'm pretty sure they have been using the term "clean makeup" since before the current"clean" trend. Christy Brinkley. The original was best.
I have always loved Covergirl and their old slogan. I will always have their products in my collection. My favorite CG model is Nikki Taylor.
Hi Laura Jane ~ Glad LJ Sunday Matineé is here ~ Cover Girl boasted some of the prettiest spokes girls ~ it was rather expensive ~ I never used liquid makeup so only wore a light blush & eyeliner shadow mascara ~ Estée Lauder moisturizer at age 23 in winter ~ then Shiseido ~ but recall my friends used it ~ a few of my friends became fashion models ~ I went to the beach all the time ~ so makeup was not necessary ~ surfed all day in Summer ~ my issue was not hydrating my skin til Shiseido ~ the boutiques in Tokyo taught me about facials cleansing toners suncare fay moisturizers & night moisturizers ~ probably would never had a skincare routine ~ kept my savings for skincare not so much for clothing & just saved everything else for rent & food & transp.
Cheryl Tiegs was the model for Cover Girl ~ perfect skin ~ Thank You Laura Jane 💕 Always A Great Visit With You at Laura Jane Sunday Matineé 🍿🎥🌭🍦💄
I haven’t used this brand since the 90’s. I loved it.😊
I haven’t in years as well
Their foundations are so good, strong spot, mascaras are pretty good too!❤
Great video Laura - I learned some things I didn't know! I only used various Cover Girl products off and on throughout the years. As far as drug store brands go, I like Revlon and Maybeline - occasionally Milani. I always remember my aunt had a Cover Girl pressed powder in a tortoise-shell- colored compact in the makeup tray in her bathroom. A girl I used to be friends with in Middle School used a variation of the Cover Girl tag line to describe girls she thought were "too fast" with the boys 😆😅 She would say, "Oh here comes Easy, Breezy, Sleazy So-and-So!" 🤣😂 Hey do you have any info on vintage fragrance called "Spice n Ice"? I bought an unopened box of dusting powder in this brand but can find no info on it. Might be interesting to do a video on the history of makeup packaging/containers if you have not already done so. Older makeup packaging was so much more glamorous! I have been getting into vintage blushes lately. Maybe a video related to that?
Great video. Can I ask brand and name of red lipstick you're wearing please?
They never should have changed the packaging! I still love the products, but I miss the original look and feel.
Yes I still use covergirl , Revlon & maybelline
I love your videos! I used CG in high school. Later switched to Milani and other drugstore brands that offered more modern colors and better ingredients as CG would break me out horribly.
I have used to them for years ❤❤
The lipstick literally sticks and this is 2024. And I have yet to see a beauty video on TH-cam that states this. They never mention the fragrance. It's ridiculous.
Hi Laura, please do one of L'Oreal and one of wet n wild.
I still love Maybelline cosmetics.
I have used cover girl cosmestics parts of them
I ❤CoverGirl!
A few thoughts I remember in college the Easy Breezy campaign starting Christy was such the it girl. Second I'm so puzzled over the 'new' talc issue I mean is sex health classes in jr high in the 70s it was discussed along with period education (both which aren't in US public schools any more might be why it's 'new') third coty lipstick is ever seared to my brain as my grandmothers's brand white cynlinder cap with gold rose pattern the twist up part heavy metal gold toned and the smell of the lipstick being perfumy grandma hugs and kisses smelled like chemical flowers...
I prefer the original slogan for sure.
Cover Girl make up, is the make-up of my teenage years. I wish they'd bring it back.
Ummm. What do you mean? CoverGirl is still around.
I want to try the noxzema foundation
Can you please do videos about Marilyn Monroe again?🤍
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
never had anything from CG
I 🩷 CoverGirl!
Never a Cover Girl fan. I liked Maybeline, Revlon Loreal and Canadian Company- annabelle
I don't like anything from cover girl
I have never been a fan of covergirl. I don't like the quality or smell of their products.
Pp
Covergirl has amazing products!
I wear red lipstick on a daily basis and I love Amy winehouse
The number-one cosmetic brand that I use 🩷💜💄💋
