The round bottle with the conical cap is the same as my bottle of Shalimar which is a Guerlain fragrance I received in the 1980's and still have - it still smells great
It's interesting to think that the fragrances we have and buy today will one day be like this fragrance collection. Rare and considered vintage. Thanks for sharing this collection ❤
What a wonderful collection! I remember a lot of those fragrances, especially the original formula for Coty Wild Musk,as I see it in this video. It was an awesome scent back then, not like the reformulated beyond recognition that's out there today.
Your mother has amazing taste!! ❤️ Lancôme just announced that they are discontinuing Magie Noire, you might want to buy a couple backups while possible!
Thank you! The one that looks like a mini decanter bottle says d’Esterel and the two next to it say Solomon’s Triple Extract Khus Khus. Made in Kingston, Jamaica. These are very old so unfortunately I don’t know the backstory.
When you say the older bottle with juice thats turned smells more like alchohol, does it actually smell more like nail polish remover? Thats a typical sign of old turned juice. A few of mine are like that.
@@accessorygirlnycYea that's the smell. I have vintage bottles of Tiffany for Men that have that smell in the opening. But it goes away quickly and settles into a perfect drydown. I just consider it patina.
@@accessorygirlnyc Why on earth would you do that? The absolute worst thing for fragrances are light, heat and air, and they are already being exposed to the first two. If they are intended to be worn, they should be kept in their boxes in a cool, dark place. Some people keep their fragrances refrigerated.
@@jdh6752So the alcohol smell can dissipate. We like displaying and looking at our fragrances. They’re not in direct sunlight. Some of my mother’s bottles have to be more than 60 years old. I’m not going to worry about it now.
@@susanhenry4073 Actually they were never in direct sunlight, but obviously not kept in a drawer. The bottles are pretty and we do want to see them. 🤷♀️
I will always miss how the perfume back then had a better aroma than the vast majority of perfumes produced in today's age. Everything smells almost the same now. That's just my personal opinion. Enjoyed this video.
This is so beautiful. It reminds me a lot of memories to see those bottles 😊
Thank you! The bottles definitely bring back good memories. ♥️
OMG so many childhood memories looking at your mom’s collection.
Right? The Jean Nate & Love’s Baby Soft…. 😂♥️♥️

That’s wonderful you still have it! My mother has Shalimar, too. Guerlain’s fragrances and bottles are so beautiful!
The first thing I looked for is any Guerlain
Those were the splash bottles Guerlain used for eau de cologne. I had one with Chamade in it.
What a lovely collection of perfume
Thank you so much! ♥️
There is an original box of Guerlain Samara in the back!!!Very desirable…
Beautiful fragrance!!!!
Thank you! Guerlain fragrances are amazing! ♥️♥️♥️
Samsara (auto correct messed it up)😊
Agreed, can’t go wrong with Guerlain ❤️
I just came across this video, I love seeing all the old bottles! I’d love to see your perfume collection as well! 🤗
Thank you! I plan to do a video on my collection at some point. I have a lot so it may be a multi part video.

You could definitely equate the smell to nail polish remover or alcohol. It’s a very harsh smell.
@@accessorygirlnycYea that's the smell. I have vintage bottles of Tiffany for Men that have that smell in the opening. But it goes away quickly and settles into a perfect drydown. I just consider it patina.

@@tabathahardy3986 I think it’s still available, at least that’s what I’ve read. 🤷♀️
It's too bad they haven't been protected from the light - that's one thing that makes them go "off". 😞

The bottle without the label is Shalimar.. My mother wore that all the time
