  • This walk in Glen Shiel takes in the four eastern munros of the South Shiel Ridge. The loop starts just east of the Cluanie Inn and heads south to Druim Shionnach via a good stalkers path. We walked out and back to Creag a' Mhaim which is the eastern munro of the ridge. The walk west along the ridge is superb with full panoramic views of the surrounding tops. It was a joy to be at height on such a glorious day. Its surprising just how quiet the hills were as we did see or meet other walkers through the entire day.
For the whole ridge checkout my library for a previous traverse.

My uncle was the game keeper on the ridge for many years. He could navigate in thick fog with no help from anything. Taught me a lot about understanding the hills. He stayed in the lodge. Loved it there. You got another fantastic day clear crisp views. Cheers

Fantastic video Charlie with great views and not far from where we use to stay during our Scotland holidays. I just hiked Creag nan Damh on the Shiel Ridge so far. Cheers!

Superb, Charlie. Robin and I walked the same four the year of the foot and mouth disease, deciding there was little risk so far from the affected areas.

Jeez what a day Charlie, Wish you two had another few hours to spare to show the whole shebang. Cant wait to give that ridge a go, Looks brilliant! At 12:49 straight ahead is the the next Munro Sgurr an Doire Leathain? Great film C&M, Did you sleep in the hotel?
