  • I've had my eye on this one for a while now so when I was in the area and saw a break in the recent run of bad weather I decided to go for it.
Very pleased that I did, it's a beautiful walk, hard on the legs, and morale at times, especially straight after a night-shift, but well worth the effort. Stunning views the full length of the Ridge and the weather held until I was almost done. Seven more Munros in the bag takes me to 95 I think, still a long way to go but I'm plodding on...
The background music is the theme from the movie Interstellar.

Great work Mark! Just completed this route in reverse yesterday and it's certainly a big day out. Doesn't look like anyone has been up in a while which is surprising, but equally what makes the Highlands awesome:-) Still pretty wintery up there right now and coming down that little scramble at the end of your video plus some of the more exposed ridges were fun. Some of the cornices look ripe for catching out the unwary if vis is poor atm though.

I did this solo in Aug 1987 on a lovely sunny day: I ran a good chunk of it. Absolutely glorious walk; a long undulating switchback with little real exposure/difficulty, though the descent from Creag-nan-Damh is hard on the knees. The views are stunning.
One of the best walks in Scotland and 7 Munros in one go!

Thanks Iain, I've just been out today and did the Ring of Steall, 4 of the Mamores, so I should be posting that video in the next few days as well. Thanks for watching.

Cheers mucker, don't know about being an engine, I was knackered by the end of it! Probably not a great idea to do it between nightshifts...😂

It's a nice walk, long but rewarding. I've just put my latest one up, Sgurr nan Gillean on the Isle of Skye. The summit of that one was pretty interesting!

I am looking to tackle this one soon Mark. How long did it take you from start to finish?

Douglas Massie Hi Douglas, I was at a pretty steady pace all day and it took me just over 9 hours, from start point to end point, but unless you've got 2 vehicles with drivers you need to remember that if you start near to the Cluanie Inn then you've got to get back there somehow. I got lucky and was able to drop my vehicle at the finish and get a lift back to the start. It's a cracking walk though with some fantastic views on the right day. Good luck!

Do you keep ascent and descent logs? Some numbers accumulated that day if so!

It's not something I tend to keep track of to be honest, maybe I should in future, but to be honest this walk isn't too bad, the ridge only really drops below 800m at one point so there's not too much 'up, down, up again'. Saying that though, even a few hundred metres descent to go back up again gets a bit tiring when you're doing multiple summits!
