People, get this channel to 1 million subs. It's a travesty that some of those other channels out there have more subs. This is the creme de la creme of TH-cam fishing content.

I don't want to see a million more people fishing as good as us. Too much pressure on the fish.

Every time you all suggest something different I try it and smash them. I just went and bought some tubs on my lunch break and plan on stopping and smashing bass on my way home. Thank you for all your hard work and sharing all your knowledge it has caught me my personal best and made me a better fisherman

Shoot - we throw a tube all the time here in East Tennessee . Snapping a tube in the canal on Ft.Loudon is always a player . The same spot Gussie won the Elite Series event on . Smallmouth getter PERIOD !!! Now I'm starting to throw the VMC 1/4 oz . finesse Tokyo Rig with the 1/0 . A Strike King Bitsy Tube goes perfect on it . Super versatile bait . We even twitch a weightless white bleedin shad tube in the Fall on the Clinch and Holston River for the last of the topwater bite . Sweet video , thanks Matt

It's good to see y'all talking about tubes. I'm a California angler and primarily fish the delta and I will not leave the dock without having some type of tube rigged up. The stupid tube in particular has saved me from many bad fishing days. I've even caught rainbow trout at Del Valle when I was mainly fishing for bass. It's a great bait that can be rigged a variety of ways and has been on the back burner since the introduction of all the other finesse techniques. Love what you guys are doing and thanks for all the great advice.

I LOVE FISHIN TUBES... we used to win tournaments fishing them in north Georgia lakes and people didn't believe we were using them. If you fish where spotted bass are (because they eat so much like a smallmouth" the tube is awesome.
BUT, I always fish mine texas rigged on a 3 or 4 ought wide gap hook. I only use tungsten weights because they seem to be better for this and usually add a glass bead between the weight and tube.
    THANKS for the great info

I spend a lot of time in Northern MI with my family. When I need to get away and have some quiet time, I’ll shoot out with 2 beers and a tube tied on. I’ll cast the tube and drag it while just drift and drink the deers. Usually manages to scare up a fish or two while I relax.

Ive been fishing tournaments for about ten years now and this was literally the first year that I ever threw a tube. Its an awesome way to fish and you don't see many people throwing them since the ned rig came out a few years ago. I will say that it has become one of my confidence baits, even when the bite is tough. I don't know what it is about it but ill have one tied on most of the time when I'm out on the water. Great video!!

Tubes are definitely over looked where I'm at, especially with the recent popularity of the ned rig... I dedicated myself to having 1 tied on this year and stuck my pb and a bunch of other nice fish on it. Im still experimenting with the different types of hooks and tubes for different scenarios. The options seem to be endless... this video is right on time thx TB!

That Goby tube is the business in White river and Norfork river in Arkansas for brown trout. I like using a thinner hook to not tear em up, but they eat those skulpin like crazy, so that goby smashes em, it looks so close. BTW, glad to see you giving St. Crois the play they deserve. Been fishing them the better part of 30 years, but I grew up in Indiana on the southern tip of L. Michigan. When I'd take em different places in the country, noone had used or heard of them.

I bought the 2.5 STH tube last year after you mentioned it and that was a game changer. I primarily threw a 3.5" Gitzit but there were times that they wouldn't always commit to that so dropping down to the smaller STH made all the difference. Also, because it's thicker than a standard 2.5" tube you're still getting quality bites and the inhaler head just ties it all together.

Jackall makes a Dera Break in Japan. Tiny little 2 inch chatterbaits from 1/8 to 1/4. Pair it with a Deps 4 inch Death Adder, take the top inch off the Death Adder, and it's good to go. My follow-up has been the savage gear goby hollow. Between the two of them, they've caught more smallmouth for me up here in Canada, then my wacky rig setup.

2.5 Gitzit tube has been a go-to lure in motor oil or black with red flack, rigged with a Gamakatsu 1/8 oz jig head has produced 100's of smallmouth and my PB 6.5 largemouth.
The one downside is they do get snagged a lot in the rocky reservoirs I fish.

I always try tubes for smallies and walleye when the baits I really like to throw aren't producing. They are also a go-to in the 1.5" size for panfish. I've had some luck when I use them on a drop shot for the bluegill and crappie (and some out of season largemouth by-catch earlier this year). This summer I promised myself that I'm going to use them to target largies intentionally. I've also been experimenting with them through the ice for pike. Such a versatile bait!

I just bought my first bag of tubes about a week ago. Caught a 3.5 lb on my 2nd or 3rd cast.

Matt do you think a tube in my highly fished pond with bluegill and shiner would work and if so how would I fish it

Let it hit bottom and slowly work it back. Drag it slowly across the bottom with brief pauses. Work along the weedlines and throw to the bank and drag it back letting it fall of the drop off. Slow is the key just like a worm or jig

    Fished my first tube today
    On my first baitcaster
I think I got a couple nibbles but was fishing it a little fast
Even bluegills tipped at it close to shore

Can you guys talk or make a video on drag setting for different set ups? That Matt and Tim. Tight lines.
