Did you at least check to make sure the head and deck were straight? Cleaning is not enough. I would have at least taken the block and head in to be resurfaced. That is a lot work work to go through just to skip a crucial step.
Great call out. I went into detail about the machine shop work I had done in part 1, but should have touched on it again in this video. I sent both the head and block to a machine shop. Head was resurfaced and new valve stem seals were put in. Block was inspected and cylinders were honed.
